Design Team member Laura Craigie lives in Victoria, BC, Canada with her husband and their three little boys.  She has been scrapbooking for nearly 7 years since becoming pregnant with her first son.  While Laura’s papercrafting passion lies in making cards she also loves to create layouts as well.  She descrives her style and “clean and cute.”  We are so lucky to have Laura as part of our team this term.

Describe yourself in 3 words … kind, goofy, introvert.

My guilty pleasure is … chocolate covered gummy bears.

You’ll never find me without … my iPhone, or a little boy or two 😉

You might be surprised to know that I
… love lima beans, they get a bad rap!

My least favorite chore is
… dishes.  Ugh!  Wish we had a dishwasher.

I started scrapbooking in
… 2004 when I became pregnant with my first son.

My favorite thing about this hobby is
… the awesome people I’ve “met”and the creative release.  I’ve never stuck with a hobby this long before.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be … the Button Candy Dots!  They are just so cute 🙂

Here’s what Laura had to say about her project … “As a mom of three little boys I just love the New Addition line, it is so perfectly cute!  I love cutting my journaling strips, and sentiments with a banner tail, and I decided to take that to the next level and made the base of my layout these large banner tails.  I also added a stamped strip in the middle for a pop of color and to match the stamping in the title.”

Design Team member Mel Blackburn hails from Ottawa, Ontario Canada where she works as a Grants Administrator a non-profit organization during the day and passionate scrapbooker by night.  She has two daughters, Danika (6) and Brianna (3) who are the inspiration for her papercrafting.  Mel started scrapbooking in 2004 shortly after the birth of her oldest daughter.  She describes her style as “eclectic flair” and loves to mix patterns, embellishments, and include fun accents on her layouts.  We are so thrilled to have Mel join our team this year.

Describe yourself in 3 words … sensitive, creative, shy.

My guilty pleasure is
… going to the Spa. It rarely happens but when it does it is such a treat!

You’ll never find me without …
my Pandora bracelet, which was a wedding present from my husband. Since receiving it we’ve added more meaningful charms that represent a special moment or person.

You might be surprised to know that I
… am a hair twirler. I will often catch myself twirling a strand of hair with my left hand. It’s a habit that I don’t even notice that I’m doing until one of my lovely girls points it out.

My least favorite chore is … putting away the laundry. I love doing the laundry but not so much putting it away.

I started scrapbooking in … 2004, after the birth of my oldest daughter. I wanted to create an 8×8 family album for Danika and since I had no idea where to start I did an internet search. At which point I stumbled upon Two Peas.  I was so impressed with the creativity that came out of scrapbooking. My passion started right then, and I’ve never looked back.

My favorite thing about this hobby is
… I enjoy the creative freedom scrapbooking provides me, the time to sit quietly while looking at pictures of my girls and choosing from beautiful products to accompany my pictures, in the end preserving memories for my girls is the most rewarding part of this hobby.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be
… Fresh Goods Dimensional Butterflies.  They are so fun and pretty – a definite must have!!!

Here’s what Mel had to say about her project … “It is very rare for me to create a layout about myself. This layout was extra special for me, as it was my first DT assignment for Pebbles. I enjoyed cutting out the pennants from the Fresh Goods collection paper titled Signage, and using foam dots to add dimension to my layout. Design team member Ashley Stephens currently lives in Germany with her husband and son.  Ashley has been scrapbooking since 2009 when she first found out she was pregnant.  She describes her style as “bold and graphic” and lets her photos take center stage on her layouts.  We are so happy to have Ashley join our team this year.

Describe yourself in 3 words … talkative, dependable, opinionated.

My guilty pleasure is … swiss cake rolls. I have to have a long conversation with myself to stick to only 1 at a time.

You’ll never find me without … a hair tie. I always have my hair up because it is thick and unruly. If you find me on a rare occasion with it down, I’ll have a hair tie around my wrist at the ready!

You might be surprised to know that I … was in Academic Decathlon in high school. We basically studied until we were blind then competed against other schools in the state via tests and speeches. It was a lot of fun but exhausting!

My least favorite chore is … mopping. I’ll gladly trade it for dishes or laundry any day!

I started scrapbooking in … 2009 after moving to Turkey. We had a long 3 month wait for our furniture to arrive so I picked it up to pass the time. I was also pregnant with my son so it was good practice before I got to start his albums.

My favorite thing about this hobby is
… sharing it with others. I have so much fun doing it alone but being able to have friends and family craft with me is even better.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be … toothpick flags. I’m always excited about something, and those flags just say “HEY! Be excited with me!”

Here’s what Ashley had to say about her project … “Fresh Goods has to be one of my favorite paper lines of all time. The primary colors with a floral, vintage twist is great for just about anything! I wanted the colors in the line to really stand out so I opted to use black and white photos. I love that it adds a playful look to compliment the silly poses my husband and I are in. I also knew I HAD to use those cute little clothespins, so a fun banner was the perfect solution.”

Design team member Pearl Liu lives in Singapore with her family.  She started scrapbooking in 1993 after her wedding.  In 1995,  after the birth of her daughter, Pearl focused her creative energies on cardmaking.  Since 2006 Pearl started scrapbooking again and hasn’t looked back since.  Pearl describes her style as ever changing and loves to experiment and try new techniques on her pages.  We are so happy to have Pearl join us this year.

Describe yourself in 3 words … practical, multi-tasker and creative.

My guilty pleasure is … cappucino, made preferably with organic coffee.

You’ll never find me without …my iPad!

You might be surprised to know that I
… have traveled to many countries but not the USA (soon, soon!)

My least favorite chore is … ironing clothes.

I started scrapbooking in
… 1993, after my wedding.

My favorite thing about this hobby is .
.. allowing me to combine different talents to create something that could make anyone smile and make their day.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be
… a fabric brad – practical in holding things together.  I am somewhat of a problem solver.

Here’s what Pearl had to say about her project … “I recently found using die cuts to be such a game changer with my papercrafting. While I consider myself a cardmaking scrapper, I also love being able to use my stash to make practical gifts for my loved ones and friends. This is my first time trying out this no adhesive, self enclosing gift box project. These gift boxes were die cut using an AccuCut box die. Before this, I didn’t dare try making box projects from templates as I found it time consuming to hand cut and not as precise as I would want it to turn out.  For the pink box, I kept it simple and pretty, finishing the box off with a touch of sheer white ribbon. For the second box, I wanted a shadow box idea within the gift box so that my 16 year-old niece can display on her desktop and that it would continue putting a smile on her face after the gift box is opened.  I love the Fresh Goods collection for teenagers and started my project inspired by the spool of blue thread chipboard and that instinctively led me to consider putting in a dress form.  Where I wanted more color contrast and textures in the shadow box and the right sentiment, I looked to our other lines and easily found the right embellishments to take my idea from how I conceived it in my mind to reality!”

Describe yourself in 3 words … happy, silly, and loving.

My guilty pleasure is …
Cadbury’s chocolate.  My favorites are Creme Eggs and Flakes.

You’ll never find me without … my iPhone.

You might be surprised to know that I … was born in England and lived there until I was six.

My least favorite chore is … cleaning my sons’ bathroom.  Boys are gross!

I started scrapbooking in … 2000 – the year my first son was born and my cousin invited me to a Creative Memories party.

My favorite thing about this hobby is …
that I can be creative and experimental and social while preserving my family’s memories.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be …
a pink Share & Tell album because it is bright, sassy, stylish and can hold it all together.

Here’s what Aphra had to say about her project … “This layout features a beach picture of my two sons from this past summer, an annual tradition for our family.  The soft colors of the sand and my kiddos’ peachy skin gave me the opportunity to pull out some pink paper, and the Floral Lane collection was just perfect.  Oh, and just in case you’re wondering what paper I punched my butterflies from, I used the bottom layer of one of the dimensional stickers.  Don’t worry, though, I saved the top layer for another project.”

Describe yourself in 3 words … friendly, creative, impatient.

My guilty pleasure is … McDonald’s chocolate shakes (but I have never dared to order anything but the small sized ones).

You’ll never find me without … my iPhone and Laura Mercier lipstick (color Audrey).

You might be surprised to know that I … recently learned to tap dance.

My least favorite chore is … purging my kid’s outgrown clothes – oh, how I dread that time of year!

I started scrapbooking in
… the 70s when I was about 12,  but got serious about it in 2003.

My favorite thing about this hobby is … looking back at those scrapbooks from 2003 & 2004 and reading details about our lives that I had already forgotten about. I’m so grateful to this hobby for helping me save those memories.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be
… Masking Tape stickers – because they stick to the project at hand and manage to add a kind word and a little bit of color.

Here’s what Valerie had to say about her project … “I think the Fresh Goods line was made for me; vintage patterns with a graphic twist, kraft, woodgrain, vibrant color and texture – all my favorite elements. For my page I mixed some of them together with a few of my go-to techniques including some sewing, fussy cutting and a stitched tag.”

Design team member Elizabeth Carney lives in Spokane, Washington with her husband Dayv, their daughter Alyssa, and their 3 dogs Jake, Kira, and Gracie.  She began scrapbooking 10 years ago and considers her style clean with pops of color.  Elizabeth recently left her supervisor position at Starbucks to head back to school full time this fall.  We are thrilled to have Elizabeth join our team!

Describe yourself in 3 words … energetic, happy, creative.

My guilty pleasure is … purses.  A girl can never have too many!

You’ll never find me without … Chapstick.

You might be surprised to know that I … am a percussionist.  I’ve played in some sort of fashion since 1981, that’s a long time!

My least favorite chore is
… cleaning the fridge.

I started scrapbooking in … 1998.

My favorite thing about this hobby is … that it is an outlet for creativity.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be … a dimensional butterfly.  One with many layers, but the one you see the most is the outside due to its colorful nature of showing you everything there is to know about me!

Here’s what Elizabeth had to say about her project … “Keeping this layout simple and clean was a must because I wanted to use a larger photo of my friend and I to showcase just how much being friends with her means to me.”

Design team member Jill Cornell lives in Windsor Heights, Iowa with her husband of 8 years and their 2 year old twin daughters.  Jill has been scrapbooking and papercrafting for 8 years and considers her style “soft and shabby chic while incorporating linear design elements.”   We are so happy to have Jill as part of our team this year!

Describe yourself in 3 words … enthusiastic, tenderhearted, sentimental.

My guilty pleasure is … coffee and chocolate!

You’ll never find me without … a bottle of water. I just always like to keep one handy.

You might be surprised to know that I … wanted to be the next Katie Couric (at the time, she was the host  of The Today Show) when I was in high school. I went into broadcast journalism in college and it wasn’t until I had an internship at a local TV station that I decided it wasn’t for me. A career in public relations became the solution to me being able to have a family and work too, although now I am a stay-at-home-mom and I LOVE it! 🙂

My least favorite chore is …does cleaning count? 🙂 No really, I despise dishes and laundry the most as they are never ending.

I started scrapbooking in … 2003, right after I was married. I took a break from creating layouts for a while and made a lot of cards and altered projects until my girls were born. Then, I had plenty of material to scrapbook!

My favorite thing about this hobby is … two things – the chance to have a little “me” creative time makes me a better wife and mother (keeps me sane!), and I also love watching my girls look through their scrapbooks and identify themselves and their family. It will only get better as they get older!

If I were a Pebbles product I would be … the toothpick flags – such a fun addition to a project!

Here’s what Jill had to say about her project … “My husband and I frequently get pouty faces from our twin daughters – they are just two, after all – and we are usually the recipients of the pouty face when we bring out the camera. I love the Fresh Goods collection and it matched the girls’ dresses perfectly. I created a fun mis-matching banner from a variety of patterned papers and used a couple of the pieces to house my journaling. I printed my photo in both color and black and white which I think is a cool way to highlight an eye-catching photo.”
