Use your paper scraps !

Hello crafty friends! It’s Lucile! Today I find you for a new layout.

Sorting my papers, I realized that I had a lot of small paper scraps. So I share my tip to use them in your layouts. I began by cutting full of thin strips in different papers. I cut notches in a paper a little bigger. Then I made a weaving with my strips of papers. It is very easy to pass the paper once above and once below the paper. You just have to renew the operation to fill your entire sheet.

I stuck my weaving on the left side of my page. Then, I matte my photo with different paper and I stuck it in the center of my page.

I also cut flowers in a paper, I came to stick them on my page to create a link between my weaving and my page. I love cutting out elements in papers to create new embellishments!

Finally, I added a die cuts that I pasted with 3D foams for it to come out. I used my typewriter to write down my journaling. I cut it in strips to remind my weaving.

I hope that this page and these little tips will have pleased you, see you soon!

Thank A Teacher With Bigtop Dreams

Well hello there, Pebbles friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today and though I’m not a teacher, I have several friends who are elementary school teachers, and each of them will attest to the fact that, at times, they feel like the ringmaster of their own little circus. That’s why I thought it was particularly appropriate to create a few teacher appreciation gifts featuring the “Bigtop Dreams” collection!

These cute little popcorn themed gift card holders (cut file #130271 in the Silhouette store) were just perfect to use with the Bigtop Dreams collection, weren’t they? If you’d like to make one of these cute gifts for a ringmaster in your life (especially the teacher variety), follow these quick and easy instructions!

  1. Begin by cutting the pieces from the various papers in the collection. I used the red/white stripe (“Big Top Dreams” #734121) for the popcorn box, “Step Right Up #734128” for the gift card holder, and “Tightrope” #734123 for the popcorn pieces

2. Assemble the popcorn box by using a strong adhesive/tape to secure the sides. Isn’t the scalloped top so cute? And if you peek inside you see the fun circus tents!

3. Add the popcorn pieces to the gift card holder. I added a few bonus pieces with foam adhesive for a little bit of fun “popping” dimension!

4. Tuck a gift card under the notches in the holder (teachers can always use a yummy treat OR you could give them a gift card to an office supply store or even target or walmart where they could buy classroom supplies).

5. Continue to embellish the front of the popcorn box by cutting a small square sentiment from the “Best Day Ever” #734120 paper. Mount this piece on white cardstock and adhere to the front of the popcorn box.

6. Now choose a fun printed die-cut from the icon ephemera pack (#734116). Add foam adhesive squares to the back and attach next to the sentiment.

7. For an extra bit of sparkle and shine, add gold stars from the Circus Thickers Collection (#734111)!

Now go ahead and tuck the gift card inside the popcorn box and you’re all set!

See, it was SO easy!! Thanks to all of the teachers out there who work so hard to train our little monkeys and clowns – they surely deserve a little extra thanks now and again!!

Oh Happy Day

Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a new layout to share using the Chasing Adventure collection. I wanted to share a view of what my happy life looks like in the summer. I am so lucky to have my camper set up in beautiful Prince Edward Island. If you’ve never been there make sure to put in on your bucket list, it is gorgeous!

I don’t get to spend the whole summer there because my job gets in the way…lol. I do go every chance I get, and I enjoy every single minute!

I often tend to add a lot of stuff on my layouts. I’m kind of an embellishment junkie! But for this one I kept it simple. I cut out a whole bunch of hearts in different sizes on my cameo and layered them randomly on the side of my layout to create a border.

Then I added some simple journaling and a few embellishments.

I finished it off with a bit of stitching and some splatters.

Thanks for stopping by!

Recipe Mini Album

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. My kids are older and now living on their own. They all like to cook, just like their mother. So I often get phone calls or text messages from them asking me for their favorite recipes. For a gift, I thought it would be a fabulous idea to compile some of these recipes into a teapot shaped mini album. I used the gorgeous new This Is Family collection by Jen Hadfield.

The teapot cut file is available in the Silhouette store. It’s a Samantha Walker cut file if you are interested in making one too. The original cut file is for a shaped card. Altering it to make it into a mini was easy to do. I created a pretty cluster on the cover using a tag, some die cut ephemera pieces, and absolutely gorgeous rose gold puffy stickers.

The This Is Family collection includes a 12×12 sheet of pattern paper with 6 recipe cards. I cut these apart and grabbed some favorite recipes to transfer to them. Because I wrote on both sides of the recipe cards, I adhered them down using washi tape. This way they can be removed from the album to read the back side. Later they can also be placed in a recipe box is desired.

Isn’t that washi tape beautiful! My album is held together using two rings. To reinforce the holes in each page, I added a couple eyelets.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum on the inside pages. Houses were
fussy cut from pattern paper and then scattered throughout.

I also tucked in a few tags in places. It’s fun to include a few hidden messages on these.

The back cover was left blank.

Do you know anyone who would love this album? Go ahead and make one for yourself too! Have a great week.

Heart of Home with Terhi

Hello Pebbles Fans!
Terhi Koskinen here to inspire you with the collection that made me fall in love with Pebbles when it first was released.
Drom roll please… It’s Heart of Home by Jen Hadfield!

Last week I had a pleasure visiting Jen’s blog with a mini book I made as a housewarming gift (link). As I had all of those beautiful paper laying in front of me on the table I just couldn’t stop myself from creating another project with the gorgeous products.

This week here at Pebbles blog we are featuring a theme “A Day in Life”. The Day in Life could be anything, but I chose to highlight a day would happily live another time as there was simply nothing I’d change: Day with my family on a beach.

To create the layout I wanted to use the fussy cut leaves and flowers I already had left over from making the mini book, and I also wanted to use watercolors because July is World Watercolor Month. Usually when I’m scrapbooking the photos I’m using are leading the way I design the layout, but this time was an exception as there was these special products in my mind.
To feature the delicate leaves the design had to be just as delicate as they are, and it also meant the watercolors couldn’t be stealing too much attention from the white background.
To add even more tender elements to the page, the photos I chose to use were very small.
All I figured was to create a small grid and frame the squares with hand stitching so I could add something soft to the mix to balance it all a bit.

After all, it ended up just the way I wanted! Once again my journaling is hidden in the backside of the layout, and even the title is very small so the flowers, photos and the grid are more visible.

Hope this gives you inspiration to create something beautiful today!
Terhi xx
