Ribbon Layout

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Pebbles’ blog! It’s Eva and today I want to share with you a layout with paper and ribbon.

For this layout I am using the squares from the “Hello Summer” paper of the Oh Summertime line and my Ribbon Stitching Tool by We R Memory Keepers. I love to use grids and for this particular layout I filled all the page with 2×2 inch squares. Easy and it gives a very cool effect!

To start the layout I cut all the colored squares from the “Hello Summer” paper

I also printed some 2 x 2 inch photos and arranged them over my page with no particular order.

Next, I used my Ribbon Stitching Tool to fill my spaces with ribbon. The tool is super easy to use and it is magnetic so you know it is not going to move while you work.

Using the plastic needle included in the tool, weave your ribbon on your space. You can put some washi tape on the back to hold the ribbon.

Finally, I filled the remaining squares with journaling and added some cute die cuts and my title on top of my ribbon squares.

You could also use paper strips for this technique, but I think ribbon gives the layout a lovely texture!

And did you notice how gorgeous those thickers are? The glitter is just the right amount and I love that now we have already made phrases on both cursive and block letters.

This layout was very easy and the 2×2 squares helped me achieve a great design in minutes! I have used these type of paper many times before to create cards, mini books and layouts! Are you a fan too?

Have a great day and thanks for joining me!

Eva

Lemon vibe

Hello friends! It’ Lucile today for a new layout! We will make a layout without using pattern paper for the background! You’ll understand, it’s a page with a lemon atmosphere! I wanted to stay in the shades of yellow to highlight my photo! It was taken during our trip to Italy, we had just had a good fresh lemonade!

To make the background of my layout I really wanted to use the Foil Quill of We R memory Keepers! It is a tool that adapts to your cutting machines and allows you to make patterns with foil. I love the effect! Then I used my watercolor to make yellow spots to delineate a diagonal. Finally I sewed inside some patterns. I pasted my page on a yellow paper to bring out the holes in my motif.

I had fun slicing a lot of lemon in a paper and then I started to glue them on my diagonal. I put some in volume with 3D foams.

To finish I mate my photo with two papers remaining in the colors of lemons and I add sentences cut in a paper.

I hope you enjoy this colorful layout! I’ll be back soon for a new creation, see you soon

Quick and Easy Summer Banner

I can hardly believe my kiddos will be out of school for the summer in just a few short days! I always like to surprise them with a fun little last-day-of school lunch, some fun summertime gifts, and of course a little bit of summer decorating! (Although I’ll be the first to admit that the decorating is more for me…but they’ve never complained, so I call that a win! 😉 ) It doesn’t take a lot of time to whip up some decor to make a celebration special – here’s the quick and easy summer banner I’ll be hanging up on Friday morning:

It really was easy! Here’s how to make it. Start by cutting six 4″ x 5″ blocks from a fun printed paper. Cut notches in the bottom of each block.

Next, cut several of the fun 3×4 cards from the sheet.

One of my favorite “tricks” to make something look a little more handmade, which I equate with a little more “special,” is to add a bit of machine stitching. It only took a few minutes to stitch with coordinating colors of thread around each of the 3×4 cards.

Next, I embellished each card with printed die cuts, or stickers, or both! Some are attached with foam adhesive squares for extra dimension.

I stacked a 3×4 card onto each floral banner and punched holes in the top, connecting them with string.

See how quick and easy?!? Now it’s time to welcome summer – I hope you get to decorate and celebrate soon too! ♥

Spring Vibes and Acrylic Paints with Terhi

Hello Pebbles Fans!
Terhi Koskinen here back with you and I’m very happy to share this layout just now in the end of May. Everything outside is green, at least here in Finland and I can also bath in the beauty of flowers and blooms! Even on my way to work I can smell how the apple trees are blooming. Spring is my favourite, absolute favourite!

To bring the lovely spring vibe on to the scrapbook layout can be a bit tricky, but don’t worry at all as I have couple of tricks to help you out. And also a step-by-step process video in the end of this post to show you exactly how to create a layout like mine!
First, make sure your photos are presenting the kind of spring you wish to spread out through the layout. For example, it will be hard (if not possible) to make bring spring vibes to a layout if the photo on the layout shows the face of Santa Claus.
Instead, take your photos from outside and make sure there is something green showing. Or even better, take some photos of your favourite blooms and go with that!

Second trick for a spring layout is to fussy cut blooms and flowers as much as possible. I mixed couple of the latest Pebbles collections to make sure I have lots and lots of different shaped blooms. The ephemera pieces, patterned papers and the biggest fussy cut blooms are from Chasing Adventures, all other flowers from Loves Me. I like to avoid too busy layouts, but a good mix of different shaped, sized and coloured blooms are definitely very important key to bring the spring vibes onto your page.

Third and last trick to spring layout is green. Like I said in the first paragraph, the world here looks like it’s all green. If you looks closely, you can see there are hundreds of different shades and tones of greens outside. It’s important to bring the same idea to your page.
Pick different greens to your layout: to the background, to the ephemera pieces and to the fussy cut leaves. Also, the photo(s) will bring you another tone of green.

As said earlier, I’ve got a video tutorial for you. Enjoy watching!

Summer Birthday Cards

Happy almost-summer, Pebbles friends! I don’t know about you, but it seems like as soon as the final school bell rings, the birthday parties begin! Summer seems to be filled with birthday celebrations for both family and friends, so it’s always nice to have a stash of summertime birthday cards ready to go! I had so much fun working with the “Oh Summertime” collection to whip up a set of cards to add to my stash!

Summer Birthday Card Set by Wendy Sue Anderson featuring the "Summertime" collection by @PebblesInc.

I created both cards using the same steps, but with different papers. I started by cutting out the word “Birthday” from solid red and yellow papers.

Next, I cut a coordinating 2×2 square for each card, from the page filled with fun and colorful images and words.

I layered the printed 2×2 square with additional 2×2 squares I cut from other coordinating papers.

I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use the awesome shaker stickers on these cards!

With a few simple additions, like tying a white string and matting with a coordinating solid, these cards were quick and easy to create!

I hope you’re inspired to check out the “Oh Summertime” collection! Have fun stocking up your stash of summer themed birthday cards!
