Odd Sized Greeting Cards

Hi friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, and I’m excited to share my latest card project with you. I used to make odd-sized and odd-shaped cards all the time, but for some reason it’s been a while since I’ve done it. As I was contemplating my project for this week, with the theme of “looking ahead to a new month,” I thought of a few upcoming events and decided to make some odd-sized cards to give next month! Here’s a look at the final result, but please keep reading to see the step-by-step process for creating these fun oblong cards!

The inspiration for this card came from this awesome 6×8 paper pad:

Here’s the paper I chose:

I decided to cut the paper in half, length-wise – and that will be the base of my card! So the card size is approximately 8″ long and 3″ tall.

The next step was to choose a coordinating paper. I opted for this fun text paper – but I chose to leave the tear strip ATTACHED! It will be part of my card design!

After I trimmed it down to 8″ long and 1 1/2″ tall (including the tear strip), I attached it to the plaid background.

A totally optional step is to add machine stitching…and of course, I opted to do it because I LOVE machine stitching on my projects!

Now it’s time to start embellishing! I started by adding foam adhesive dots behind this fun tag and placing it on the left end of my card front.

Next, I added another printed die-cut onto the tag. I love the gold foiling on this piece!

I continued adding layers and ribbon to embellish the tag:

Next, I added the thicker sentiment to the right of the tag:

I added a few coordinating enamel dots and placed the entire piece onto a white card base, which was 8 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ and folded over at the top.

Using the same exact process, with slightly different papers/embellishments, I made my second card for next month:

Will you try making an odd-shaped card this week?? We’d love to see what size and design you come up with!

Chasing Adventures Travel Journal

Hello Pebbles friends! Marcia here today. Is anyone planning a Spring Break vacation in April? Take a look at my Chasing Adventures travel journal. It is perfect to take along on your trip to record your memories and store mementos, maps, postcards, photos and more.

The journal is crafted from a kraft cardstock and then decorated with the fun Chasing Adventures pattern papers. I glued two pieces of kraft cardstock together to make the folio stronger. To give it a vintage feel, I burnished the edges with some distress ink. An elastic band secures the binder shut. Let me show you the inside …

The front cover has a side pocket to tuck stickers and die cuts that can be used to decorate journal pages while traveling.

There are 3 pages inside. Each side of a page has a gusseted pocket to hold travel momentos, maps, postcards, and more.

Here are the other inside pages…

In the back of the journal I have added a notepad, covered with pretty pattern paper. Here you can journal about your daily adventures and add photos.

If you have an upcoming vacation, you might want to make a travel journal for yourself. Be sure to check out the Chasing Adventures collection to help you document your trip. I love that it has pattern papers and die cuts for whatever kind of adventure you desire from city vacations to mountain hiking to tropical relaxation.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

~Marcia

Ready for the next month!

Hello friends, it’s Lucile ! Today, I find you to show you how I prepare my month of April in my travelers. I use a travelers daily to organize my life and I love decorating it! This month I wanted to add mermaids, so I chose the “Oh Summertime” collection.

To make the first page, I started by using the Stitchpen of we’re memory keepers to write “hello”. Then I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut the letters. If you want to see the realization in detail I let you go see the video at the end of the article.

For my monthly page, I started by adding a space that I pasted to my page. I cut a half shell to create a flap. I decorated it by adding stickers and die cuts.

I organize my monthly view with a time lapse. I note important events in boxes. I decorated everything with papers and embellishments from the collection.

Inside the flap, I added a note space. I cut a piece of a page that I pasted and I add stickers.

Finally, I created two pages of trackers. To create my mood trackers I used the tool of We’re Memory Keepers. It’s very convenient to create these layouts. I ended up with my favorite part, decoration!

Now I’m ready for the coming month! Have you prepared the organization for your month of April?
See you soon for a new creation!

Hello everyone! It’s Eva on the blog today showing you how to create a Cooking Layout using supplies from the Along The Way line.

The Along the Way collection by @pebblesinc is perfect to record your recipes and cooking adventures! PC: @evapizarrov

My husband is from Italy and his family has many cooking traditions, one of them is making “Passata” or tomato sauce and “antipasto” that are vegetables cooked on tomato sauce. Every year we spend 1 or 2 whole days making preserves for the winter. This year we cooked more than 180 lbs of tomatoes! we were exhausted but it was totally worth it!

To create this layout I began with the cut file “The secret ingredient is always love”, because I thought it was perfect to document this memory, and backed the letters with the lovely papers from the Along The Way line.

Once I was done with my title I added my picture.

The final step was adding embellishments. I used a mix of stickers and die cuts and created two clusters on top and on the bottom of the layout.

I even included some fruit stickers to my clusters and a spoon with a paper strap attached to my picture.

This layout was very easy and quick! I love documenting our family traditions, do you scrapbook some of yours?

Thank you so much for joining me today! Have a great weekend!

A taste of Italy

Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a new LO to share using the Chasing Adventure collection. My kids have always been pretty independent. From a young age they wanted to do things for themselves. I snapped these photos of them making pizza when they were about 4 and 6. I miss those days so much!

I started off my LO with the Geo Globe cut file from The Cut Shoppe. The circle and triangles pieces reminded me of a pizza and pizza slices. I backed some random pieces with pattern paper. That woodgrain paper could not have been a better match for my photos! And of course I had to stitch the pieces too!

This collection has so many fun travel themed embellishments. Although we didn’t actually go to Italy, we can eat the pizza and pretend we did right?

I then finished the LO by adding stitching to create a border and I splattered some black mist just to tie in all that black.

Thanks for stopping by!
