Can you even believe that it’s time to start planning Halloween costumes and treats and parties and games?? I recently printed out our Halloween pictures from last year and I couldn’t wait to scrapbook our annual “costumed cousins” photo! Here’s a look at the layout I created with the new “Spooky Boo!” collection – and keep reading for a quick little journaling tip too!
I am a HUGE fan of hand-written journaling, but sometimes I opt for printed text to add to my layouts. This time, I wanted to create a tag with journaling to coordinate with the pre-made tags, so here’s what I did.
First, I wanted to find a font to match this cute font from the collection. Even if I’m printing journaling, I often choose fonts that look like handwriting:
I found this free font (KG Sorry Not Sorry) and printed my journaling on white cardstock:
Next, I used one of the tags as a template to cut out around the text:
After adding a hole and tying a black bow, here’s how it looks on the layout:
And, just for fun, here are a few more detail shots of the page.
Notice how much I love using foam adhesive dots to add subtle touches of dimension and depth to my pages:
Aren’t those thickers fun? I love the orange topped with black!!
Tell us about your journaling – do you prefer to hand-write? Do you have a go-to font? Do you like to mix up fonts to coordinate with other items on your project? We’d love to hear!!
Happy Halloween!
