Decorated Letter Board for Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Week, friends!  It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing my letter board, all decked out for the big day of love! I love the versatility of switching out cute/funny quotes on my board often, but I wanted to take it a step further this time and decorate it even more! I created several paper banners to hang on the top of my board, and I also used some cute foam thickers, along with the “Love” letterboard collection by DCWV.  Here’s how it turned out:

Here are some of the details.

I cut lots of hearts from the “XO” patterned paper and used my sewing machine to stitch them together to create the top heart banner.

The second banner was created the same way, with slightly smaller hearts, cut from two coordinating patterned papers.

For the larger banner, with photos of my kiddos, I printed the photos out at 2″ square.

Then I placed each photo on a banner, cut from the pink gingham paper.

I used foam adhesive to attach the photos.  And I embellished each one with stickers.  After stringing the banners on white twine, I hung the banner below the hearts.

I might be breaking some unwritten rules, but I really wanted to add these gorgeous gold thickers to complete my board, so I did!

Patio Party Concertina Tag Cards

Hi Pebbles Friends & Fans!

Amanda here and I am so excited to be sharing my first tutorial with the all NEW Patio Party collection! With so many beautiful patterns and designs, this collection will wow you! But enough chatter, let’s get onto my project – Concertina Tag Cards!

When I first laid eyes on pattern paper JUST FOR YOU I knew I wanted to make a trio of cards from it! I love receiving cards that are a little interactive, and concertina folded tags are so much fun!

Here’s how….

  1. Trim out the ‘triangles’ connecting the tags, and then cut into 3 ‘rows’ or sections, as shown below.

2. Use a ruler and scoring tool to mark all the ‘folds’ & then firmly press into concertina (fan fold).

3. Prepare 3 card bases for your trio. (I used white cardstock, trimmed 6″ long x 8″ wide, which I score down the center and fold to create a 6″ x 4″ card.) Trim pattern paper WANDERING WILDFLOWERS to 5 3/4″long  x 3 3/4″ wide and adhere to front of card.

4. Attach a 12″ length of ribbon to the card front – be sure to only glue in the center and not the sides, as we’ll need this ribbon to tie up our tags. Next, tape the back of the final tag in the concertina over the ribbon and onto the card front, as below….

*I attach a pretty layered BUTTERFLY STICKER over the butterfly print tag and add a WOOD STICKER to the front of my card for a little embellishing*

5. Use the ribbon to ‘tie up’ the cascading concertina, and pin into place with those stunning GOLD SAFETY PINS. Add a PUFFY STICKER or two for that finishing touch!

SO pretty! And the recipient has such a fun surprise when they untie that bow! Decorate those pretty tags with messages to your loved ones or leave as is, they’re sure to please either way!

The second card in this trio uses the same techniques, but this time I use the reverse side of WANDERING WILDFLOWERS for the card front. I also use the patterned barcode strip from the base of this paper as an alternative to ribbon. Cute!  Hole punch the tags, and fasten together with another of those awesome GOLD SAFETY PINS, taping the final tag onto the card front, as before. Decorate with those super sweet PUFFY STICKERS.

Here’s how these two cards look before opening…..

Yes – I wrapped up that card like a present as really adds that specialty to the gesture of card giving!

And here’s how they look after opening…….

Love this! SO cute ‘n’ fun!

The last card in the trio is slightly different! Prepare the card front as per card 1, then embellish with a doily. Take the final set of concertina tags and slice off the end tag. Hole punch, attach a ribbon and then place onto the card front with adhesive foam dots.

Take the remaining concertina tags and tape the two end tags inside the card – creating a simple pop up effect!

I decorate mine with those beautiful BUTTERFLY STICKERS, and fill the card with sequins. Such a happy surprise when you open this card!

And there you have it! A trio of concertina tag cards that are sure to bring a smile to everyone you share them with!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo

Babies and Butterflies with Terhi

Babies and Butterflies with Terhi are the sweetest...especially with the Night Night collection!

Hello sweet friends!

Terhi here with a baby themed scrapbook page, which I never expected myself to create. Before I even got pregnant, I thought about the famous black and white ultrasound photos, which I’d either frame or do a photo book with- whatever it took to really appreciate the first photo of a new life. But I never did. I never saw the perfect collection to play with, until now.

Babies and Butterflies with Terhi are the sweetest...especially with the Night Night collection!

I started by picking up the cutest items from the ‘Night Night’ girl collection, and cut the “hello” title with my Silhouette.

I wanted to have a lot of leaves and petals, so I grabbed a pen and started to draw. Don’t hesitate to try, just start by drawing on the backside of the paper you want to use, and you can draw and erase as many times as needed.

I cut all the pieces out and drew in some additional lines with white gel pen to give them more details. Then I picked up all leaves and blooms from the cardstock ephemera pack and started to glue all down.

Feels like I finally waited long enough to scrapbook this photograph, and I’m happy I feel so satisfied with the result!

There’s small pieces with gold foil on top; they nicely give some contrast to the pastel colors.

I even drew some doodles on the ephemera too!

The butterflies are from the ‘Patio Party’ collection; they look so gorgeous on the baby layout too!

Journaling is hidden on the backside of the layout. I tried to keep it short, but it would never fit to the page.

Hope you are inspired, and thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hello Pebbles’ fans, it’s Eva Pizarro today on the blog showing you how to create a Geometrical Layout using Pebbles’ new line: Patio Party.

Create a Geometrical Layout showcasing your favorite patterned papers with this fun tutorial by @evapizarrov using @pebblesinc new line Patio Party #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc

When I saw this line, I immediately was drawn to the colors and patterns; they are perfect for my summer photos and they truly make me smile. One of the patterned papers that caught my eye right away was the one that has small diamonds, I thought it would be perfect to showcase all the pretty colors of this line.

I started by cutting 1 1/2 inch and 2 3/8 inch patterned paper squares using my Square Punch Board. This tool is amazing and makes the job really easy!

Next, I arranged my photos and my patterned paper squares over the diamond paper. I overlapped some squares a bit to make it more interesting.

I used the wood Thickers to add my title and small embellishments here and there, like the puffy stickers and the Wood Frame Phrases.

And did you noticed the gold safety pin? You can pin some patterned paper in place or glue it to your paper like I did.

Because I had lots of colors on my papers and photos, I used mostly white background embellishments. I even added a white square on the layout to make the title stand out!

I also added a banner I cut from one of the patterned papers and I placed it just right to form a triangle with the other two white background elements.

I really like the summer feel of this layout; the colors and patterns are gorgeous and perfect for your everyday summer photos!

Patio Party invitation card tutorial - make a bright and happy invitation!

Hi Pebbles readers! I’m Jen from tatertots + jello and I am THRILLED to be here on the Pebbles blog!! I’ve been designing for Pebbles for a few years and it’s a dream come true!! It’s so fun to take a concept and bring it to life through beautiful papers and embellishments! I am SO excited about my newest line – Patio Party!!

jen hadfield patio party line pebbles inc.

We put in a new patio last summer and as I was designing it, I was imagining all of the wonderful parties and events we will have on our patio – baby showers, bridal showers, summer parties, BBQ’s, neighborhood get-togethers and more! I imagined lots of bright colors and fun icons – like flamingos, lemons, beautiful cakes and drinks, patio lights, watermelons and more! So I brought that idea to the Pebbles team and we came up with this bright and happy collection! I am SO excited to use it!!

Patio Party invitation card tutorial - make a bright and happy invitation!

Today I am sharing a little happy Patio Party invitation idea! It’s simple to make and so cute. Send them out and your guests will want to hang up the invitation and show it off!

Patio Party invitation card tutorial - make a bright and happy invitation!

Start with a base paper. The one I chose is Welcome Mat – a simple and striking black and white paper. I cut the invitations into 4 inch by 5.5 inch rectangles. Then I took a coordinating pink edge and cut that off to make a stripe.

The invitation part of the card was made with a typewriter. We R Memory Keepers has the CUTEST typewriters – have you seen them??

You can either type the invitation words on a typewriter OR if you don’t have one, make it up on your computer and print it off!

Cut the invitation paper down to 2″ x 3.5″ size.

Before you lay the invitation paper on the card, I put a couple of the Patio Party paper embellishments in the middle of the card and then put the invitation paper on top, so they peek over the top.

The last thing I did was add a little gold heart, a butterfly and a pink flamingo on top of the paper.

So pretty!

Just pop them in envelopes and send them out to your party-go-ers!

Isn’t that fun??

Pop over to tatertots + jello where I am sharing ANOTHER Patio Party idea — DIY Medallion Cupcake Toppers!! They are perfect for cupcakes OR use the medallion to embellish cards or even a paper banner like I used in my office! I have the full tutorial on my site!

Thanks for letting me stop by! You can buy the FULL Patio Party line on the Pebbles In My Pocket online store!

Have a beautiful day!
