Documenting First Day of School Photos with Girl Squad

Hello Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne here today sharing a layout that has documented a very special moment in my daughter’s schooling career.  This milestone is all about her “last” first day of school.

Create memorable 1st Day of School Photos with @PebblesInc #GirlSquadcollection.

As a senior in High School, we have attempted to document all of her “last” moments throughout the year. The first day of school being no exception.

To create this layout I have pulled together patterned papers from the new Girl Squad collection, as I love how the patterns portray a sense of empowerment for young women. The positive sentiments and fun expressions are ideal for teenage girls.

step 1.

Trim a base piece of patterned paper to size (8.5″x11″) and a piece of white cardstock to allow a 1/4″ border to show from beneath. Machine stitch around the cardstock edge.

step 2.

Choose two coordinating pieces of patterned paper and machine stitch to the layout as shown below. The size of the patterned paper depends on the size and shape of your photo. Work with what you have, allowing the edges of the patterned paper to create layers and texture.

step 3.

Trim several small square sentiments from the Hello Friends patterned paper. Use them as additional layers, but keep in mind that they will function as a visual triangle on your layout. Think about using bold punches of colour.

step 4.

Position your photo over the layers of patterned paper.

step 5.

Add some Ephemera cardstock die cuts and mount onto foam tape for extra dimension.

step 6.

Fussy cut flowers from Go Girl patterned paper and add to the black square sentiments to connect back to the white cardstock. Layer more die cut ephemera between the patterned papers.

step 7.

Add your title and emphasize with a thin strip of washi tape.

step 8.

Complete your layout with journaling strips.

Thanks for visiting the Pebbles blog today. I hope you have been inspired to capture some first day of school photos or even the “last” first day of some other event.
