Picnics and BBQs Layout with Girl Squad!

Hello Pebbles Friends! Today I’m sharing a layout which celebrates friends who are practically family! These guys are some of our absolute favorite people.  One of the things we love to do is get together and eat! We have regular barbecue sessions at each other’s homes, with all the kids eating outside picnic style!

I’ve chosen the Girl Squad collection to create this layout because of its fabulous colours and distinctively fun flair! You aren’t limited in the reach of this collection—it is definitely meant for documenting more than just girl moments.

The photo used on this layout is quite busy, and because it has a lot going on in it, I wanted to have a bold background to neutralise the fuss. The black patterned paper grounds the elements in the photo while the white ledger style patterned paper opens up the page almost like a blank canvas.

I then layered patterned paper from the mini paper pad. The colour palette is still fun and coordinates with the colours in the photograph.

To add interest to my layout, I trimmed three sentiment squares from the Hello Friend patterned paper. I also fussy cut matching colour flowers to add to the element cluster triangle on the layout.

The title has been created by using the foam thicker stickers from the Girls Squad collection and have been strategically placed onto the edge of the white patterned paper to prevent it from blending into the background.

When adding some of the elements to the page, try to work in a piece that might enhance your layout. Make it pop by adding foam tape for dimension.

Finally, add some journaling to complete your layout.

I hope you found this layout to be inspirational, helping you to think outside the box when using themed collections.

Thank you for visiting.

DIY Indoor BBQ Picnic

Hi everyone. It’s Heather Leopard and I am sharing a DIY Indoor Picnic Idea with you today.  I don’t know about you but I love picnics. We do them as a family all the time but they aren’t always a normal picnic at the park. We also picnic in the front and back yard but what my girls really love to do is picnic in the house. We basically layout out blankets and/or towels in a room other than our dining room and there’s just something really fun and special about it.

I surprise my girls with an indoor picnic every couple of months because sometimes it just seems like the fun thing to do.  Just don’t plan to do it on spaghetti night due to the fact that it can be a mess.  While you can certainly use your normal dishes for an indoor picnic, I figured we should make it fun by creating a picnic caddy for the house. As a result, it’s basically everything we need in one little package.

You can use a box or a crate for this, an upcycled fast food drink tote or almost anything you’d like. I had cardstock and my die cut machine therefore, I chose to make one out of paper.

This is great for utensils, condiments, straws, napkins, you name it. While it’s not carrying anything especially heavy, it holds up pretty good. You probably don’t want to load it up with drinks unless you really reinforce it.

Add some custom plates

I wanted to create custom plates so I bought clear plastic plates and lined them with patterned paper.  Simply trace the center of the plate on your favorite patterned paper, cut it out and adhere it to the bottom with mod podge.  NOTE: only apply the mod podge to the bottom of the plate.  I’m pretty sure you don’t want to eat from a mod podged plate since it probably has chemicals you may not want to ingest but maybe I’m wrong?!?!

Picnic themed invitation

Next, create a cute little apron card. I downloaded this one from the Silhouette store. Isn’t the grill set cute?

This can be an invitation to the picnic, a menu (on the inside) or just a cute piece of decor in addition to whatever else you have planned.

So there you have it… a fun DIY Indoor Picnic that’s as cute as can be.  Just add your favorite food & beverage and dine in style.

Hello everyone! It’s Eva Pizarro on the blog today, sharing a sunburst layout with the Sunshiny Days collection.

Scrap your summer photos with this step by step sunburst layout by @evapizarrov and @pebblesinc new line #sunshinydays #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc

I don’t know about you, but I take a lot of pictures during the summer as we have many picnics, family trips and barbecues. We love to go to the country and enjoy the pool and the trees. The Sunshiny days collection was perfect to scrap our weekend getaway pictures.

To begin my layout, I created a sunburst with some of the patterned papers. I chose a yellow, green and blue color palette to match my pictures. My friend Johana gave me an awesome tip: use your fuse unplugged to add a faux stitch to your papers.

This turned out great! I used my Fuse Mat and my Supreme ruler and simply ran my Fuse with a bit of pressure down the page. That bit of texture was just what my sunburst needed!

Next, I used a chipboard sticker and the beautiful ombre thickers to create my title.

Finally, I added a few stickers and die cuts. We harvest some lemons during our trip, therefore I added some stickers right next to my journaling.

The puffy stickers are great for planners and for your pages as well! You can add bits of color and create tiny clusters.

I’m sure you’re going to love this collection as much as I do—the designs are perfect to scrap your favorite summer memories!

Summer Activity Idea Jar

Hello Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here to share with you a fun summer activity idea. If you’re a mom, you know that “mom, I’m bored” phrase comes a LOT during the summer months. To keep that question from popping up All.The.Time, I created this fun summer activity idea jar using the Sunshiny Days collection. I started by gathering a few supplies from around the house. Other than the Sunshiny Day collection, all I needed was a few large Popsicle sticks, a tin can, and some craft paint. The first step in creating this Summer activity idea jar is to paint the ends of the Popsicle sticks. The washi tape on either end of the popsicle sticks is to keep the paint lines nice and neat. I chose to paint one end yellow and one end pink. You don’t have to paint them yellow and pink but they do need to be two different colors. When you use the Summer activity idea jar, you choose an activity and when you complete the activity you flip the stick so the opposite color of the stick is showing at the top of the jar.  When the paint was dry, I wrapped each stick with washi tape. The jar itself is really easy to make. I used a basic tin can and covered it with patterned paper. The redline sticky tape is to adhere the paper to the tin can. I wanted to make sure that the patterned paper stuck to the can very well. If you’ve ever used redline sticky tape, you know how strong it is. To finish the jar, I printed several summer activities on patterned paper, cut them into strips, and adhered them to the painted Popsicle sticks.

I know my kids will put our summer activity idea jar to good use! How do you keep summer boredom at bay at your house? Grab the Sunshiny Day collection and make your own summer activity idea jar for your house. Thank you for stopping by the Pebbles blog!

Have a safe and happy summer!

Quick Picnic Basket Gift

Hi friends, it’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a quick picnic basket gift project!  Summertime is the best time for picnics, but that doesn’t mean you have to take a full day or even pack a full picnic basket.  Instead, make a mini picnic basket with paper, fill it with a quick treat, and deliver it to someone special!  I created a basket to fill with muffins for a quick morning drop-off to a sweet friend!  It was quick and easy and I love how it turned out – I hope she does too!

Here’s a quick photo tutorial for making this project.  Start by downloading a digital cut file for the picnic basket.  Cut it out twice – once out of woodgrain paper, for the outside; and once out of this traditional red and white gingham print to line the inside.  The purpose of this is two-fold; to replicate an actual picnic basket AND to make it heavy-duty!

Be sure to cut the mirror image for the inside (liner) of the basket.  Next, glue the two layers together.

Now begin assembling the basket. Be sure to use extra strong adhesive to hold everything together!

Next, add the lid and handle with small brads.  Aren’t those flaps perfect for the lid?!?

Finally, just to add a little finishing touch, layer a few die-cuts and tie them onto the handle of the basket.

Here’s a look at the completed basket.

To complete the project, add a treat (or two! These bakery muffins fit inside perfectly!).

Now deliver a sweet treat to a special friend or neighbor!

A picnic for breakfast!  What could be more fun than that?  Not much!
