Hi there, it’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a DIY Summer Banner! We’re a month into Summer and between holidays, so I needed a fun new decoration to hang in my entryway!  I sure love the Sunshiny Days collection and thought it would be perfect for creating a banner!  This is a cinch (both quick AND easy) to put together!

Ready? Here we go! Start by cutting two banners, a large polka-dot banner with a notched bottom, and a smaller triangle banner.  Punch holes in the top corners of both banner shapes.Create a DIY Summer Banner like this one by @WendySueA with the "Sunshiny Days" collection by @PebblesInc.

Next, add foam adhesive to the back of the triangle banner:Create a DIY Summer Banner like this one by @WendySueA with the "Sunshiny Days" collection by @PebblesInc.

Place it in the center of the polka-dot banner, with the top edges aligned.Create a DIY Summer Banner like this one by @WendySueA with the "Sunshiny Days" collection by @PebblesInc.

Next, choose a sticker, die-cut, or other piece of ephemera to embellish the banner piece.Create a DIY Summer Banner like this one by @WendySueA with the "Sunshiny Days" collection by @PebblesInc.

Now place it on the front – overlap as desired.

Next, choose a letter or symbol from the thickers sheet and place it on the yellow flag.Create a DIY Summer Banner like this one by @WendySueA with the "Sunshiny Days" collection by @PebblesInc.

After all the flags are complete, thread them onto a long piece of baker’s twine or jute.  If you want to add a bit of interest (and length), use the washi tape to “hang” various elements between each flag.

Finally, Overlap the washi tape and wrap around to the back.Create a DIY Summer Banner like this one by @WendySueA with the "Sunshiny Days" collection by @PebblesInc.

That’s how easy it is!  Here’s a closer look at each of the flags I made for my DIY Summer Banner.

Hi there! Renee here today with a couple of beach day-themed cards using the Sunshiny Days collection.  Don’t miss out on the chance to send happy mail to family and friends, no matter the occasion.  Any way you send it, whether it be a invitation to hang out, get well wishes, or a simple hello to let them know you are thinking of them, you are sure to put a smile on their face with these cute summer scenes.

The “A Happy Day to You” card is sweet to give for a birthday, hello, or thinking of you theme.

To start, I trimmed some water waves from the Beach Day pattern paper and added them to the corner of my 5″ x 7″ card.

Heat embossing a curved stamp onto the wave is a fun way to add the card sentiment.

To complete the card, I embellished it with the sandcastle and pail Stickers, a beach blanket and pineapple Die-Cuts, a beach ball Chipboard Sticker, and a crab Puffy Sticker.

A “Chill Out” card would be fun to give for an invite to hang out, a get well or even just to say hello.

I layered a 1 ½” piece of sandy brown cardstock on top of the cut waves from the Let’s Float pattern paper.

I embellished this card with flower and flip flop Puffy Stickers and sun, clouds, and palm tree Stickers.  I trimmed the “Chill Out” sentiment from the Summer Day pattern paper and added it to the corner of my card.

A Sunshiny Days Sweet Summer Sand Castle

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique here today sharing my Sunshiny Days Summer DIY project: a Sand Castle! Does anything get better than sandcastles on the beach? Why yes! Candy-filled sandcastles!

Once I saw the sand castle cut file in the Silhouette Store, I knew I wanted to try it out.  When I heard that the theme for this week was “Pool/Beach Days,” it took me 2 seconds to decide what to make: a Summer Sweets Sand Castle! Look how fun it turned out!

Sweet Summer Sand Castle created by @moniqueliedtke with the #Sunshiny_Days collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #sweet_summer_sand_castle #sweets_sand_castle

For the base of the sweets sand castle, I used American Crafts light yellow cardstock from the cardstock Spring pack.  I used five different patterned papers & lots of stickers (including cardstock, chipboard AND puffy stickers). Initially I thought I would use the die-cuts too, but they were too large for this project.

I began by cutting out all the different pieces from the sand castle cut file ( #139538 from the Silhouette Store) and put them in front of me on my dining room table.

Next, I folded all the parts to get the dimension started:

To glue the parts together, I used a little liquid glue. I have to admit in the beginning, after cutting out all the separate parts, I doubted my decision to create the sand castle.  How was I going to put it together! Once the first few pieces came together, I could totally see how it would finish! It came together with just a little effort after that.Sweet Summer Sand Castle created by @moniqueliedtke with the #Sunshiny_Days collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #sweet_summer_sand_castle #sweets_sand_castle

Attaching the sides of the three towers together:

Adhering the patterned paper to the front & back of the cardstock:

After gluing the front & back sand castle shapes to the the three towers (as well as both patterned paper sides), the sand castle was more or less done. I made two flags (what is a castle without a flag, right?) and embellished the sand castle with many of various fabulous Sunshiny Days stickers (cardstock, chipboard and puffy)to finish it off just right:

The darling chipboard flamingo had to be included!

The only thing left to do was fill the left and right towers with sweets!

I so adore the result! The sand castle turned out even better than I had in mind beforehand! I loved the cut file straight away, but the finished project looks so much more fun with the awesome Pebbles Sunshiny Days collection! Can’t wait to hear what you think!

Join us for a Sunshiny Days Beach Layout!

Hello Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne Allinson here today, sharing with you a layout using Pebbles Inc Sunshiny Days collection.  Ready to frame the perfect beach shot from your latest Summer Holiday? Lets get started!

Use layers of @PebblesInc Sunshiny Days patterned paper to build a base for the perfect beach layout.

When creating this layout, I wanted to make the photo the highlight of the page. Everything else including the patterned paper, embellishments and even the splash of colorshine is there to support the story in the image.

The crisp white cardstock has been machine-stitched to patterned paper with a similar colour tone to the photo. To start my creative process, I flicked a few splashes of Citron Colorshine directly onto the cardstock and allowed it to dry.

The rest of my colour palette also takes inspiration from variations of colour shown in the image. The darkest colours are layered at the bottom of the photo cluster with the lighter colours floating closer to the top. The photo has been layered directly onto the same patterned paper which borders the white cardstock. This is to create a subtle feel of uniformity.

When adding titles to my layouts, I often use a clear plastic ruler to help with alignment. This trick of the trade allows you to move the alpha thickers about the page until you are satisfied with their placement.

Add embellishments to help enhance the story in your layout.  I like to have my embellishments, such as the paper die cuts, at varying heights. To achieve this, I add small amounts of foam tape to selected elements.

Stickers, twine and puffy stickers will help draw the eye towards interesting elements on your page. I sometimes like to add embellishments that hide in plain sight!

Use layers of @PebblesInc Sunshiny Days patterned paper to build a base for the perfect beach layout.

Finish off the page by adding some journaling to remember your awesome day (all while planning your next outing to the beach!).

Thanks for visiting.

Beach Tag Mini Album | Quick Gift

Aloha everyone!  Heather Leopard here writing this blog post while on an amazing vacation in Hawaii.  I wanted to create a beach tag mini album to document our activities as a gift to my family.  The idea was to create a new page every day and add a small 2″ x 3″ photo of the day.  The photos show the album without pictures since we are just beginning our vacation.  I will be back home by the time you read this so join me on Instagram (@heatherleopard) to see it with photos included.

As you can see, I created a pineapple box to hold the beach tag mini album.  The mini album is made using many tags, die cuts and stickers.  So cool, so fun and so QUICK!

This project took a little planning ahead of time. I knew I wanted to give it to my family when I got to Hawaii but I didn’t want it to get damaged en route to Hawaii.  With that in mind, I cut the box bits and tags ahead of time.  I knew I wanted to use my mobile printer that prints 2″ x 3″  photos so I made the tags large enough to hold the photos.  I waited to put it together until I got there (super easy to pack since I left all the pieces flat!).

Pineapple gift box

I used a cut file from the Silhouette store.  The pineapple leaves came in one size but I wanted them to better resemble a pineapple stalk so I cut three sizes and layered them over each other as shown.

Quick Beach Tag Mini Album by @heatherleopard using the #Sunshiny_Days collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #minialbum #tags #summer #beach #beachdays #hawaii

Naturally I had to use the pineapple patterned paper to cover the base of the box that will hold the beach tag mini album.

I pre-cut each pattern in various-sized tags including everything from standard tags and leaves to scallop circles. I liked most of the Side A and Side B patterns so I ended up dividing many of the the tags for greater variety.

The die cuts and cardstock stickers are great for adding dimension and layers to the tags.  Some of these will be tucked under the photos while others will go on top.  In addition, I also added mini puffy stickers because they are just too cute.

Beach tag mini album assembly

The first tag I created was the cover.  These are quite small so I had to keep it to a minimum. I started with a palm tree (and added a sun/puffy stickers later). Next, I included the location and year.

Quick Beach Tag Mini Album by @heatherleopard using the #Sunshiny_Days collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #minialbum #tags #summer #beach #beachdays #hawaii

Here you can see the tags for the first half of the mini album. You can also see how I added the sun and puffy stickers to the cover tag. To make these, I sorted the larger tags in the order I wanted them and then I added the smaller accent tags.  I finished them off with additional die cut shapes and stickers.

Below are the tags for the second half of the mini album.

Quick Beach Tag Mini Album by @heatherleopard using the #Sunshiny_Days collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #minialbum #tags #summer #beach #beachdays #hawaii

Once they were all complete, I tied them together with a palm tree leaf. Some of these will hold photos while the others are perfect for journaling and holding items we may collect along the way.  I may also add tickets and other items using a hole punch.

Ready for the memories

Once the palm leaf dries, it will become more sturdy.  However… I may want to add in more tags  or souvenirs, so a metal book ring or ribbon might be better suited for the job.  That way, I can tie on the palm leaf to when I get home.

Quick Beach Tag Mini Album by @heatherleopard using the #Sunshiny_Days collection by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #minialbum #tags #summer #beach #beachdays #hawaii

So there it is. This beach tag mini album was very fast to put together. It seems like it took me only about 30 minutes once all the pieces were cut so probably 45 – 60 minutes max.  Simply cut the tags, embellish, add photos and journaling, you are done!

I can’t wait to fill it up with details of our trip but I’m looking forward to creating memories with my family most of all.
