Poolside Layout for Summer featuring Sunshiny Days

Hello!  Renee here today to share a quick and fun scrapbook layout using the Sunshiny Days collection.  The school year has ended and summer vacation has begun!  We are excited to go back to our happy place…the pool!  Most of our summer days are spent playing at the pool with friends.  This is one of my favorite photos from last year: Payton enjoying a lazy, crazy summer day at our favorite pool.  This poolside layout documents how much we cherish the summertime and love our pool passes.

I used the reverse side of the Pink Flamingos pattern paper and kept the bottom strip for my background.  I trimmed the Paradise pattern paper to a 1″ strip and added it to the bottom of the page with some Washi Tape.

Additionally, I used the We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch Board and the Pink Flamingos pattern paper to make a 6″ x 8″ frame for my photo.

My photo (measuring 4″ x 6″) turned out to be the perfect size for Payton to wear a pair of sunglasses.  Bonus, her eyes were closed in the photo anyway so it was even more fun to add the sticker there.

I fussy cut a few clouds from the Daydream pattern paper and added them along with a Die-Cut sun.

Next, I added a simply adorable Chipboard Sticker for the title of my page, along with the year stamped below it.  I love the embellishment clusters!  I added lots of Die-Cuts, a flamingo Chipboard Sticker, and some Puffy Stickers.  Additionally, I added a bit of Diamond Zazz! Glitter Glue to the flower centers for some sparkle.

Sunshiny Fringe Cards Trio

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique here today, sharing a trio of bright and sunny Sunshiny Days fringe cards! I totally adore Pebbles’ Sunshiny Days collection, as the bright colors and fun designs make me so happy! I hope (I’m sure!) the same goes for the persons who will receive these cards. What I also love is that the designs of the papers are so very versatile, you can create any and every kind of card you wish, from birthday cards, to get well cards, to celebratory cards, like I did!

Let me show you how I created these fringe cards, it’s really very simple!

I assembled everything I thought I would need: A few of my favorite patterned papers, different colors of cardstock, (puffy) stickers, Thickers, die-cuts, and fringe scissors.

I started with a 10 cm x 15 cm (4″x 6″) cardstock base, a piece of patterned paper a little smaller, and a strip of white smooth cardstock measuring 5.5 cm x 14 cm (2 1/4″ x 5.5″). I also wanted a matching piece of patterned paper with the strip at the bottom still attached.

Next, I folded the flamingo paper double so I could clearly see what the centre was and used my fringe scissors to cut almost to the centre but not quite all the way through:

When I was done cutting, I adhered a strip of double-sided adhesive tape at the back, but only in the middle (so the fringes would stay “loose”) and adhered the paper on top of the cardstock card base:

Next, I cut a piece of the matching patterned paper (with the strip still attached!) and adhered this on top of the white cardstock piece:

Now it was time for the sentiment. I wanted a large “title”, so I used the ombre Thickers belonging to the Sunshiny Days collection. I embellished with two puffy stickers, but had a hard time choosing as I love them all. You’ll see that in first instant I chose 2 flamingos, but changed this to a flamingo and an ice cream later-on.

This fringe card was almost finished, I just needed to adhere the piece with the sentiment on the card base with the fringe paper and I was done!

I really like the result, especially because I’m so in love with the papers … just look at the flamingo paper! So fabulous!

Sunshiny Days Layout: Bright & Fun Colors

Hey Everyone! It is Leanne here today, sharing a fun and summery Sunshiny Days layout using the Pebbles Inc new Sunshiny Days collection! I love the bright colours and super cute embellishments that complement this collection so well. For this layout, my colour choices stay within the crisp white, yellow, blue and green hues.

My layouts are always sized to 8.5″x11″. To create an impact in such a small space, I  layer both colour and elements to help share the story. Using cardstock and a cutfile, I have mimicked the die-cut ephemera leaves to help draw the eye across my page. Combined with the die-cut ephemera palm tree and surf board, the photos become a significant layer among all the elements in that particular space.

By being selective with colour choice, I can fussy cut certain elements from the patterned papers to suit my layout. Here I have carefully cut around lemon images from the Fresh Squeezed patterned paper and the white hibiscus flower from the Paradise patterned paper.

Perhaps my favourite part of this collection is the printed chipboard thickers. The ombre blue is perfect for documenting our days at the beach!

The title for the Sunshiny Days layout was created by combining both these fun alpha thickers and a word phrase from the sticker icon pack. The word “Summer” has been mounted onto foam tape to help balance it on the edge of the photo cluster. The shadow that is then created provides depth with the page’s overall elements.

Finally, a few splashes of black and yellow paint create texture on the Sunshiny Days layout, as well as  help draw the eye across the page.

We’re taking a trip this summer with some friends, so I made mini summer traveler’s notebooks as gifts to give to the kids using Pebbles’ new summer line, Sunshiny Days.

I plan to take my little handheld printer to snap random shots and let them add them to the pages and add notes about their adventures. As I mentioned, these mini summer traveler’s notebooks are very easy to make…let’s take a look.

Start by cutting 4″ x 6″ covers.  I chose to use the patterned paper with the journaling cards for a cute front and back cover.

Next, cut the inside pages using coordinating patterned paper or plain cardstock.  Consider cutting them at varying sized to add a fun flair.

Also, cut them 1/2″ smaller on the top and side so that they are 1/4″ smaller around each edge.

After you’ve sorted your inserts in the order you want them, run them through your sewing machine and  stitch right down the middle. Make sure they are all facing the right way up. Using the journaling cards with the divider lines makes this very easy to do!

Fold these in half. You may want to use a bone folder to get an extra crisp fold.

I used a supersized journaling card as the inside center card for my summer traveler’s notebooks. This can be used for a summer bucket list, bullet list, end of summer storytelling, or whatever.

Once you’ve assembled your mini summer traveler’s notebooks, decorate the outside with stickers and embellishments.  You may even wrap these up with stickers and embellishments for the recipient to add once they have their photos.

Hello everyone! Eva Pizarro here, sharing a step-by-step monochromatic layout featuring Pebbles’ new summer line, Sunshiny Days.

This week’s theme is Favorite Colors and my absolute favorite summer color is yellow — it is bright and just makes me happy! To make this monochromatic layout, I began by picking different papers and embellishments within this color. The first thing I picked was the 3×4 card with the pineapple. This card has yellow and green, so I decided to add little pops of green here and there too.

I covered half of my page with the yellow striped paper and placed my picture in the middle of the layout. I even added a filter to my photo so it had a subtle yellow cast.

Using an old yellow alphabet, I added my title and placed my die cuts and stickers framing the picture.

I also used my washi tape to add my journaling, and made a small ribbon to add my hidden journaling.

To balance the washi tape strips in the top of my layout, I added some word stickers in the bottom, diagonal to the other ones.

Sticking to one color really made the process simple and everything coordinated perfectly! The little pops of green made the yellow color stand even more. I love this bright, happy monochromatic layout!
