Hello Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here to share with you my Summer Travelers Notebook pages. If you remember, I shared the beginning of my Summer Travelers Notebook here on the Pebbles blog a couple of weeks ago. Summer Travelers notebook pages by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #madewithpebbles #sunshinydays #pebblesinc #travelersnotebook

I wanted to add some notebook pages about the color run my kids participated in as a part of our Summer. I used the Sunshiny Day’s collection to create this two page spread. Summer Travelers notebook pages by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #madewithpebbles #sunshinydays #pebblesinc #travelersnotebook

This week on the Pebbles blog we’re creating projects using our favorite colors. I have such a hard time choosing a favorite color. I feel kind of like choosing a favorite color is a bit like choosing a favorite child — I just can’t do it. I simply love color!! I used LOTS of color in my Summer travelers notebook pages. I’m always drawn to shades of green and blue. I worked both of those colors into this spread about the color run. Summer Travelers notebook pages by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #madewithpebbles #sunshinydays #pebblesinc #travelersnotebookI printed two 4×3 photos to tell the story of the color run. I printed the photos with a white border so that they would stand out against the teal background. As I mention, I added a LOT of color to this two page spread. Adding LOTS of color is a must when you’re documenting a color run, right?!?! The chipboard stickers, puffy stickers, and die cuts in the Sunshiny Days collection made adding color so easy to these notebook pages. Summer Travelers notebook pages by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #madewithpebbles #sunshinydays #pebblesinc #travelersnotebookThe journaling card in the ephemera pack was perfect for my journaling. The overall feel of this layout is very casual, so I chose to hand write my journaling with a black Precision Pen. Summer Travelers notebook pages by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #madewithpebbles #sunshinydays #pebblesinc #travelersnotebookI love how this story came together. The bright happy colors make this Summer Travelers Notebook. How are you documenting your Summer memories? My hope is that this will inspire you to document your Summer memories in a Travelers Notebook with the Sunshiny Days collection. Thank you for stopping by the Pebbles blog, I’ll see you again soon!

Graduation Gift featuring Favorite (School) Colors

It’s Graduation season, which means it’s the perfect time to make a cute, quick graduation gift. For today’s project, I chose to use our high school colors to represent my favorite colors — black and gold (yellow)!  And since I have a handful of grads I want to celebrate, I thought I’d share the super quick and easy gift idea I’m using this year!  I wanted to create something simple and quick that I could create in a few hours.  I landed on this cute cut file, and the rest was history!  Here’s a peek:

I used a cut file from the Silhouette store (design #75119) to create these cute little graduation cap boxes. I pulled all of the black and yellow papers from the new Simple Life collection and started cutting out caps!

They are easy to assemble. Here’s a little photo showcasing it step-by-step:

Instead of adding a tassel, I opted to use a brad in the top of the cap/box.

I wanted to make the graduation gift boxes a little more personalized, so I cut little sentiments from the Simple Life greetings paper to add to each.

I especially love the Bricks patterned paper because the printed words are excellent advice for these young adults!  It’s fun to have a mix of patterns, especially if the gift boxes will all be displayed together.

Now I can fill the boxes with treats, cash (every grad’s fave) or a special note. Wouldn’t these be fun favor boxes for a graduation party?  Or they could even be place cards for a graduation dinner!  So many fun possibilities, but today, I’m sticking to filling them up with these cute little cookies that are also sporting our school colors!

Memorial Day Thank You Cards

Hi, Renee here today to share a couple of Memorial Day thank you cards using our America the Beautiful collection.  Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.  These cards are perfect to give to those family members and friends who are today’s military heroes.  I wanted a card that would be full of appreciation, love, and respect for the protectors of our freedom and their love of country.

I used a circle trimmer and blue cardstock to create 6″ circle-shaped cards.

I adhered the Stars and Stripes pattern paper to the front of the card. Then, I added different sized strips of pattern papers horizontally along the card.

I added the Patriotic Thickers, along the 1 ½” strip of the Sparklers pattern paper, for my card sentiment.

I finished off my card with a few Stickers, Die-Cuts, and Golden Color Mist.

Trio of Memorial Day Cards

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique here today, sharing a set of Memorial Day cards using the “America the Beautiful” collection. I had such fun creating these cards! Although we don’t live in America, we have a lot of family & friends living there who we can send these Memorial Day cards to.

Here are the Memorial Day cards I made. I decided to go for a kind of “quilted” look and used my square, circle, and hexagon punches.

After deciding on the punches, I made a selection of the papers and die-cuts I thought I would use for the Memorial Day cards. There are so many awesome papers and die-cuts that I had trouble choosing!

The card with the 1.5″ squares was the first card I created. In the end I used 7 (!) double-sided sheets of paper from which I punched 12 squares, which I then adhered onto an (extra) piece of white cardstock. Because I wanted to use my sewing machine and stapler, I decided on using this extra piece of cardstock which I adhered on a cardstock card base later-on. The finished cards all measure 4.5″ x 6″, so the extra cardstock pieces I used to glue the squares, circles and hexagons on are a little bit smaller.

Next, I punched the circles and hexagons. I then adhered these on extra pieces of cardstock too:

The sewing came next:

I just love the stitched look! It gives my projects just that little bit of “extra”. Now came the embellishing of my cards. I used the Pebbles Homemade phrase tags for the sentiment, and chose the simple “hi” tag for this card. I used a bit of twine for the tag, combined with two of the fun “America the Beautiful” die-cuts. Here is one of the finished Memorial Day cards:

For my circles and hexagons Memorial Day cards, I chose tags with the “thinking of you” sentiment which I found very appropriate:

Memorial Day Pop-Up-Box Card

Create your own pop-up-box card for Memorial Day using @PebblesInc as inspiration.

Hello Pebbles Friends! It is Leanne here today, sharing a pop-up-box card or card-in-a-box tutorial. This week on the Pebbles blog we are recognizing Memorial Day and similar practices from our own country of origin. In Australia, we thank our service men and women traditionally on ANZAC Day. ANZACs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) are remembered through the use of red poppies and adorn many memorials to commemorate those that have fallen.

My pop-up-box card today reflects the traditions that we follow in Australia, but this design can be altered or embellished to suit your own personal needs.

Create your own pop-up-box card for Memorial Day using @PebblesInc as inspiration.

step 1. | Box base: Trim cardstock to 8.5″x5″. Score a fold line at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″. Score a second line at 2″ from the top.

Using sharp scissors, trim along the score lines from the top but only to the second score line. See image below. Trim a small triangle section off the 1/2″ fold/tab on the right side. See image below.

step 2 | Fold: Carefully construct the box shape, applying double sided tape to the 1/2″ section to secure the box together. Determine which panel will be the back of the card and leave the score line unfolded (the flap stays upright).

step 3 | Inserts: Trim two (2) pieces of cardstock to 3″x2″. Add a score line 1/2″ from the each end and fold in opposite directions. Add lengths of double sided tape.

step 4 | Inserts: Carefully insert the cardstock supports into the box. See image below.

Create your own card in a box using @PebblesInc as inspiration.

step 5 | Embellish: Trim coordinating patterned papers to panel sizes – 1.75″x4.75″ (back panel), 1.75″x1.75″ (front back panel), 1.75″x1.75″ (front and side flaps, plus same again for reverse side/underneath panel), 1.75″x2.75″ (lower box front and side panels).

step 6 | Star embellishment: Trim three (3) different size stars from patterned paper or cardstock. Mount onto a toothpick with hot glue and foam tape. Secure it to a box insert with hot glue.

Create your own pop-up-box card for Memorial Day using @PebblesInc as inspiration.

step 7 | Embellish: Fussy  cut flowers, blossoms or other embellishments from coordinating papers. Add a sentiment either to the front panel of the box or on foam tape on the front of the back panel.

The beauty of creating this pop-up-box card is that they will also fold flat. They are very simple to make and can be constructed in a matter of moments. I hope I can inspire you to create some of your own the next time you need to gift someone with a card.  Thanks for visiting..x
