Easter Happy Mail

I decided to do something a little different for easter this year – I’m sending some Easter Happy Mail to a few special friends!  I mean, really, what could be happier than receiving these cute little bunnies in your mailbox?  Well, maybe opening up the card to find a gift card for a special local treat!  That’s what I call happy mail!  I had fun using the lullaby collection (both boy and girl) to create these cards.  Since each collection had a cute bunny sticker, I thought they were perfect for Easter – and didn’t really scream “BABY” as the collection suggests.  I love finding a way to stretch a themed collection, don’t you?  Here’s a look at the finished project – keep reading for step-by-step instructions!

Start with a piece of white cardstock – cut it to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.  Score both sides at 2 1/2″.  Fold the flaps in.

Now cut a strip of patterned paper 2 1/4″ wide.  Then cut this strip into two 5 1/4″ pieces.

Use adhesive to glue down the right and left edges of the bottom flap.  Add the patterned paper strips to the bottom flap (which is now a pocket) and the top flap.

Place the bunny sticker on the top flap – only the ears should be “stuck” down.  Use baby powder to remove the stickiness from the body and legs of the bunny sticker.  (I like to sprinkle a little bit on my work surface, then use my finger to rub the powder on the sticky part of the sticker).  Next, add a floral sticker to the inside of the top flap.

Now use one of the hearts from the patterned die-cut pieces in the top left corner of the top flap.  Add foam adhesive to a heart sticker and add it next to the first heart.

Now it’s time to tuck a note and gift card inside the pocket!

Wrap coordinating twine around the outside of the card and tie a bow!  That’s all there is to it!  Slide it into an envelope and pop it in the mail – you’re going to make somebody’s day!!

1 Year Mini Album

Hello, Renee here today to share a 1 Year mini album using the Lullaby collection.  Oh, how I love this sweet baby collection and creating this mini album gave me the opportunity to combine both the boy and girl lines.  Payton turned double digits this past St. Patrick’s Day!  I cannot believe it’s been 10 years since she joined and completed our family.  I looked through some older studio portraits and found a bunch from her first birthday.  I had to grab some of my favorites to make a mini album.  I used a couple of 5″ x 7″ along with some 2 ½” x 3 ½” photos for this 6″ x 8″ album.

This is my favorite page from Payton’s 1 Year mini album!  Who said that Glassine Paper was just for treat bags and envelopes?  I adhered two glassine papers back to back and trimmed it down to 5 ½” x 8″.  I added a pretty punched edge and embellished it with adorable Die-Cuts and enamel dots.  I used the We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch Board and the Baby Girl Quotes pattern paper to create a 2 ¼” x 3 ½” photo frame.  Adorable!

I used my We R Memory Keepers Cinch Book Binding Tool with Square Holes to finish off my album.  The instructions were simple to follow making the mini album easy to make.

  1. I gathered all my pages and lined them up to punch the holes for an 8″ album.  I pulled the #4 peg when it came time to add the additional holes at the ends of the pages.
  2. I trimmed the We R Memory Keepers White Cinch Wires to about a 7 ½” length and placed them on the hooks.  I threaded the inside pages of my mini album first, then the front cover, and then the back cover (the front and back covers faced each other so I could hide the seam) on to the binding wires.
  3. I set the cinching bar to the size of the .75″ wires and pressed down.

My album looks great!  I created a simple cover using the Just Duckie pattern paper along with a birthday cake Die-Cut and Maggie Thickers for the title of my mini album.  I added the Icicle and Honeycomb glitter glues to the flowers and candle of the birthday cake Die-Cut for some sparkle.

I adhered the Baby Girl Plaid pattern paper to the front cover and embellished using a card from the Baby Boy Quotes pattern paper.  I love this quote card!

I used the Baby Boy Blossoms pattern paper for my page here.  Lots of pretty flower stickers around my photo!  I used the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Styleboard Die Set and Baby Girl Quotes pattern paper to create the bow embellishment.

I love the bunny design on the Baby Girl Posies pattern paper and couldn’t help but use a matching bunny Die-Cuts for this photo!  So sweet!  Love the glassine page that gives me a sneak of the next page.  That deer Die-Cut is too adorable.

I adorned the Baby Girl Quotes pattern paper with layers and star Stickers.  A “mama’ duck Die-Cut hugs her “baby” duck Puffy Sticker for lots of love.

I added lots of flower and butterfly Stickers to embellish the photo on the Baby Boy Blossoms pattern paper.  I used the soft pink stripes on the Woodland Baby Girl pattern paper for this sweet teddy bear photo.  How perfect is this bear Die-Cut?  I cut-up the journaling card from the  Baby Girl Quotes patterned paper and added some pink mist to a few words before adhering it around my photo.

Bottle Shaped Lullaby Cards

Hi Pebbles friends! It’s Monique here sharing a pair of super sweet bottle shaped Lullaby cards. As of last week I have a brand new nephew and of course I needed a card to welcome him to the family! The Pebbles Lullaby collection was the answer! In the Silhouette shop I found this cute bottle cut file and when I saw it I knew I wanted to use it to create my card and because I wanted to use both the boys and the girls line of the Lullaby collection I made one for a baby girl as well. I really love how they turned out!

The cards measure 4″ x 5.5″. I cut the base for the cards from American Crafts white cardstock. Choosing the patterned papers and the die-cuts wasn’t easy. They are all so awesome that it took me quite a while to make a choice which ones to use! And don’t you just adore those matching Thickers?!

Because I knew who the boys card was for, I got to use those Thickers:

I really loved the look of the gingham pattern and as it’s so easy to combine with any die-cut I chose that for the bottle. I added the name of my nephew with the stork die-cut below. I doodled a line around the edge and would a bit of twine around the neck of the bottle. After adding three enamel shapes (from the Fun in the Sun collection) I declared my card finished!

I kept to the same concept for the baby girl card, but chose different patterned papers. Because I don’t know yet who the card is for, I kept it more neutral and chose the “oh baby” die-cut:

Aren’t they adorable?! I wish I knew more people to whom I could send a baby card!

Adding Stitching to your Layouts

Hello Pebbles Friends! It is Leanne here today, sharing with you another fun idea to subtly enhance your layouts. I’m talking about adding stitching! This method can be created via your trusty sewing machine or, if you are brave enough, test yourself with some hand stitching.

Learn how to add simple stitching to enhance your layouts with @PebblesInc #LullabyCollection and @leanne_allinson.

I love to add some texture to my layouts and with stitching. I find this technique to be both effective and a simple way to add extra detail without overwhelming the page.

The first step is to work out if you want to add specific detail in linear lines, detail as a feature, detail as a way to highlight an element on the page or all of the above! For this layout, I am share all three ideas on the one page.

After I create my design I look for areas where I can add machine stitching. Some people are quite clever with their ability to use a sewing machine but I like to keep things as simple as possible! Even my straight lines aren’t always straight!

For this layout, I machine stitched a border along my featured patterned paper. I find this helps to ground my paper choices to the cardstock, especially if I use coordinating coloured thread.

After my patterned papers have been selected, I often choose an embroidery thread to colour match. Depending on my layout theme,  I can use several shades of thread on one page. Today I am only using the lighter pink colour. My reasons being to keep the look and feel of this layout soft. Especially since I am using the cute new Lullaby Baby Girl collection.

Once I have added my photo, I look for elements on my page where stitching detail can be added to highlight. The First Year Age sticker immediately drew my eye. I wanted to stitch detail around the outside edge to help draw attention to my subtitle.

The die cut flowers from the ephemera die cut pack, are added to offer colour and interest near the black and white photo. They have been layered directly on top of the hand stitching.

To make hand stitching a little easier, I like to pre-pierce holes in my page with a hole piercing tool and a soft foam mat underneath the layout. I find the holes to be a helpful guide and it prevents the page from tearing when adding the thread.

Just as with the stitching around the circle sticker, I have added a line of stitches near the butterfly. This detail is to indicate movement on my page.

Finally I add my title and journaling.

To draw attention to my journaling, I have added three small cross stitches directly to the journaling strips.

I hope I have managed to convince some of you to try your hand at stitching now that you’ve seen how easy it is to achieve! Thanks for visiting today.

Lucky Charm Scrapbooking Layout and Free Cut File

Hello everyone!  Heather Leopard is here to present you with my lucky charm and a free Silhouette cut file so you can create your own Lucky Charm scrapbooking layout!

Lucky Charm Layout by @HeatherLeopard using @pebblesinc #Tealightful collection

I consider my girl to be as rare as a 4 leaf clover so I thought it was appropriate to create a background full of these lucky clovers.  You can too by downloading this free Silhouette cut file HERE.

Lucky Charm Layout by @HeatherLeopard using @pebblesinc #Tealightful collection

I used two patterned papers and cut 2 different sizes of clovers, which are included in the free cut file.  Then, I placed them 4 across and 4 down. It is a 4 leaf clover afterall.  I alternated the large clover patterns.

Lucky Charm Layout by @HeatherLeopard using @pebblesinc #Tealightful collection

Once they were all placed on the page, I tacked them with a dab of glue to keep them in place.  Then I stitched a + or an x through them.  Next, I lifted up the sides of each petal and creased them in the middle.  I also alternated puffy flower stickers and gold sequins to the middle of the clovers. You can see this better in the photo below.

Lucky Charm Layout by @HeatherLeopard using @pebblesinc #Tealightful collection

I kept the layering around the photos to a minimum since the background was already so busy.  I added just enough to draw attention to the photos.

I just love the pink glitter Thickers included with this collection.  I blended them with a script “lucky” to complete the layout.

Supplies:

Tealightful Floral Patchwork 12×12 patterned paper (733535)
