Pineapple Anyone?

Hello everyone! It’s Monique here today sharing a layout I created for this week’s “mix and match” feature. I had so much fun creating this page using lots of my favorite Pebbles’ products! Here in The Netherlands we finally had a few sunny days and all of a sudden I longed for Summer! I decided to create a bright and colorful Summer layout using mainly the Sunshiny Days collection and the Fun In The Sun collection and some photos from our vacation in Greece last year. I love the pineapples and flamingos which are so hot right now and I thought I would give those a try. Here’s what I created for today:

A summery mix and match layout by @moniqueliedtke using the "Sunshiny Days" and the "Fun in the Sun" collections by @PebblesInc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc #scrapbook_layout

I just love how the pineapple turned out! Here’s a quick step-by-step how I created it: I used the Silhouette to cut out the shape of the pineapple (4.5″ x 9″) and with a pair of fringe scissors I cut seven strips of pink paper and six green strips. The strips measure 2″ x 5″.

I cut through these strips of paper for about three quarters of the width and adhered them on a piece of 10.5″ x 6″ of white cardstock, overlapping each other half.

Next I placed the negative shape of the pineapple over these pink & green “fringed” strips of paper:

I selected matching patterned papers for the background and tried to decide on a design for the rest of my layout.

In the end I chose two 4″ x 4″ photos of my youngest son and matted them on some “neutral” colored paper from the Simple Life collection. I selected die-cuts and stickers from both the Sunshiny Days and the Fun In The Sun collections and started building the rest of my page. I almost never design the layout before I start, but make it up as I go along.

I just adore all the fun papers, die-cuts & stickers in the Pebbles collections! There’s just so much to choose from! Just look at those flamingos! So adorable! And those puffy phrase stickers .. I just had to add those too!

The machine stitching was added last, which is always a bit of a risk but it’s what I do.

And now this layout is finished I long for Summer even more!

Take one and then Repeat!

Hello Pebbles friends! It is Leanne here today, sharing three different cards that have one thing in common. They’ve all been created with one element that has been used and repeated several times!

Can you notice the patterns? The first has circles, the next has triangles and for the last one, paper strips with banner notches cut into them.

It is quite an easy process.  Have a look at the video I’ve prepared showing two of the cards..

Step 1. Prepare your supplies. With each card, I have chosen a selection of patterned papers from several Pebbles Inc collections. The process of colour selection is really simple because with each collection there’s a colour base that matches.  So perfect for when it comes to a mix and match challenge!

Make the most of mix and matching @PebblesInc patterned paper collections by taking one elements and then repeating it.

Step 2. For the Triangle based card, I have trimmed several strips of patterned paper and then cut them down to equal sized triangles.

Step 3. For the smaller triangles I have simply cut the larger triangles in half.

Step 4. Adhere to the cardstock base and mount onto a coordinating cardstock mat. Select a 3×4 cut apart to layer on top.

Step 5. Add some extra dimension by adding twine and tying in a bow.

Finally gift your card to someone special!

Once you have an element, such as punched or die cut shapes, these cards take next to no time to create! Just add one and then keep repeating! Happy crafting friends!

Hello everyone.  Heather Leopard is here to show you how to turn a ho-hum hair clip into a pretty spring fashion piece with today’s DIY Floral Barrette tutorial.

So now that you’ve seen the finished project, let’s take a look at what it started out as.

DIY Floral Barette by @HeatherLeopard using @pebblesinc #Tealightful and #simplelife collection

Still very lovely but sometimes you just want to add a bit of happiness to your hair, right?

DIY Floral Barette by @HeatherLeopard using @pebblesinc #Tealightful and #simplelife collection

All I needed to complete this was a few sheets of patterned paper, die cuts, puffy stickers and Sticky Thumb adhesive of course! I would also suggest a bit of Mod Podge or some sort of sealer to protect it from repeated use or a rainy day.

The first thing I did was wrap the barrette in paper.  Easy peasy!

Next, I fussy cut some flowers and carefully selected a die cut butterfly and a few puffy stickers. I cut some extra leaves to use as fillers.

Then I just started layering the bits and pieces. I started with the two larger pieces on the ends and then filled in with smaller bits until I loved the look.

Remember the before photo above?  What do you think of the after? I can tell you that I have a very happy little girl who can’t wait to wear this with her favorite Spring outfits!

Hello Pebbles’ fans! Eva Pizarro on the blog today bringing you a tutorial for a quick accordion mini book. This little book is perfect for grandparents or family members and it’s very easy to make!

Make a quick accordion brag book with this tutorial from @evapizarrov and the new #lullaby collection by @pebblesinc #pebblesinc #madewithpebbles #minialbum

To make this mini album I mixed Pebbles’ newest lines: Lullaby and Simple Life, I think the wood hues and patterns of the Simple Life collection combine perfectly with the modern blues and yellows from the baby line.

To make the accordion mini album cut two 4 inch wide strips of paper and score them every 3 inches. Glue the two strips of paper to have a long accordion book.

The pages are very simple: I added the photo and then embellished with a number and a word sticker.

To make the mini album cover I used one of the 3×4 cards you can find in the patterned papers.

On the back I added a die cut and a long ribbon to close the mini album.

You could make this book in a batch and use them as a Christmas gifts or to send to those relatives that live far away!

Those polka dot Thickers are very cute, they add the perfect embellishment to my pages.

I hope you like this idea! my mother on law I think is going to love it! Now she can take her grandson everywhere  she goes!

Fussy Cut Floral Layout

Hey there Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here. I’m so excited to share a layout with you that I created using bits and pieces from the Simple Life collection, the Warm & Cozy collection, and the DIY Home collection. This fussy cut floral layout is one of my favorites! Jen Hadfield’s collections are personal favorites of mine. I love all of them!!

I started by fussy cutting A LOT of flowers. I LOVE fussy cutting. It’s one of my favorite techniques. I watch for patterned papers that have elements I can fussy cut. Not only are fussy cut elements fun, they’re also a great way to make your scrapbooking budget stretch a little bit further. For the price of one piece of patterned paper you can often get dozens of fussy cut elements that are great for embellishing. I chose three patterned papers to fussy cut flowers from. I knew I wanted tons of flowers to cascade diagonally across my layout from the top left corner to the bottom right corner.

This  is actually a very budget friendly layout because I only used one piece of patterned paper on the background. I cut the paper into three pieces and adhered them back together on a piece of cardstock using both sides of the patterned paper.

I used lots of dimensional adhesive to adhere the flowers to the background of the layout. This step is optional but it makes a huge difference in the amount of texture on the layout.

I love the shadows that the flowers create!

I nestled my title and journaling under the photo, right next to the flowers.

I created a few different layers under the photo. I always want the focus of my layouts to be on the photo. By adding a few layers under the photo it draws the readers eye to the photo and makes it stand out against the floral embellishments.

I know fussy cutting can be a hot topic among scrapbookers. Which side of the fence are you on? Do you love fussy cutting? If you do, this may be a layout you’d like to scraplift. Thank you for stopping by the Pebbles blog. I’ll see you again soon!
