DIY Travel Planner

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Leanne here today, sharing with you an easy DIY Travel Planner! I wanted to create this gift for one of my friends who aspires to travel and take notes of her journeys along the way. She normally doesn’t have a lot of space to take bulky items with her, so I made a slim line planner note book, easily able to fit in an over the shoulder bag, so she can pen in her details as she travels. Not only is this a gift that will be fully appreciated, it will also help with organizing her travel needs.

Create your own slim line travel planner with @leanne_allinson using @PebblesInc #warmandcozy collection.

To create the cover, start by trimming to size (8×8) your favourite piece of patterned paper. I have used Warm & Cozy Log Cabin. Score a fold line down the center and add details to embellish.

Create your own slim line travel planner with @leanne_allinson using @PebblesInc #warmandcozy collection.

I’ve fussy cut leaves from the Rose Gold Foil cardstock and layered them between pieces of patterned paper. I’ve chosen the Cozy Sentiment cut apart to use as a title instead of thickers. This will help keep the travel planner as slim lined as possible. The gold dot washi tape complements the gold foil fussy cut leaves and anchors the embellishments to the base patterned paper.

For the insert I have trimmed several sheets of copy/printer paper to fit the inner patterned paper liner. score a line down the center of each piece. For the patterned paper I have used Warm & Cozy Antlers, trimmed to 7.75″x7.75″ and also scored at the halfway point to allow it to fold flat inside the cover.

To attach the copy paper to the inner patterned paper piece, machine stitch along the fold line.

Create a tab paper piece and adhere to the inside of the cover. Now add adhesive to the insert and carefully align the insert fold line with the fold line of the cover.  Press together carefully one side at a time – front cover to front insert, fold over then adhere back insert to back cover.

To complete this project, I will leave an inspirational message wishing my friend all the best with her travels and hope that she creates wonderful memories along the way. Alternatively, these slim line note books can also be created as gifts for any new adventure in life. I plan to also create one for my daughter, as she enters her senior year of high school in 2017. Hopefully these little planners will contain many happy memories for the recipients to enjoy in the years to come. Thanks for visiting..x

Let it Snow | DIY Snowflakes

Heather Leopard is here and I hope you’re staying nice and warm wherever you are!  My family and I just made it back from a winter ski break. It snowed quit a bit while we were skiing and my youngest daughter kept singing “Let it snow”. My girls wanted to bring snow home with us but since it will melt here in Texas, I decided to make a bit of snowflake decor with the song we heard sang on repeat.

This project is really fun and easy to create with just a few supplies.  I keep this white frame up in my house year-round and just switch it up throughout the seasons.  It’s versatile enough to match almost any decor so it’s my go-to when creating something fun for the house.

To create this you’ll need the following supplies:

  • white cardstock
  • background patterned paper
  • snowflakes punch or cut file – you can download the one I created HERE
  • garland and faux pom poms – also included in the cut file above
  • alphabet letters
  • glue dots
  • liquid adhesive
  • paper trimmer

Once you’ve punched or cut everything out. you literally just have to assemble everything. Easy peasy!

I knew this would have to be multi-dimensional since the alphabet wouldn’t fit behind the frame. At first, I was going to adhere the garland and the snowflakes to the background paper and place all of that behind the glass but it really flattened everything out a bit too much so the only thing I have behind the glass is the patterned paper. Once the paper was in position I added the garland and snowflakes, moving them around to ensure I had enough space for the sentiment. Once I liked how everything was positioned, I adhered them to the glass using glue dots. The circle “pom-poms” were adhered with liquid adhesive.

Next, it was time to add the alphabet Thickers to fill in the empty spaces!

So there you have it, a reminder of our day on the slopes with my youngest singing at the top of her lungs and a nice reminder that Winter is upon us as we are snuggled warm inside the house.

Paper Strip Snowflake Layout

Hello Pebbles’ fans! It’s Eva Pizarro on the blog today showing you how to create this big snowflake layout with scraps of paper. I love to use my pile of scraps, I save every strip of paper because I think I can use it in my next project. This time I decided to use strips of 6×6 paper to create a statement snowflake for my project.

Create a gorgeous snowflake layout with this tutorial from @evapizarrov and the #HollyJolly line from @pebblesinc #pebblesinc #scrapbook #layout

Create the background with mists. I used pink, teal and gray.

Cut strips of paper from your 6×6 inch paper pad. I used 4 designs and cut my strips 1,25 inch x 0,6 inch. Create your design by attaching diagonal strips to the back of your paper.

I trimmed a bit the smallest pieces of paper, all the other strips are cut the same size, just attach some in the edges of the paper and some in the center.

Run your page through your sewing machine. I sewed the edges and the snowflake.

Mat your photo with different patterned papers to give a little more dimension. Layer some big white snowflakes underneath the picture

Embellish the layout with a few snowflakes and stickers.

I attached my matted photo with foam dots to make it pop. The glittered Thickers matched perfectly with the colors I chose for the layout.

The stitches help the snowflake come together as one piece and not just tiny strips of paper.

I love how this layout turned out! It’s the middle of the summer here in Chile and my son keeps asking me to wear his rain boots everywhere he goes! This was a great way to record that little story.

DIY Snowflake Wall Art

Hey there Pebbles friends and fans, Becki here. I am SO excited to share with you a piece of DIY snowflake wall art I created as a part of snowflake week here on the Pebbles blog. I wish that I could say that I LOVE snow and I guess, in a way I do. I think it’s beautiful. I just wish it wasn’t so cold! When we took the Christmas decorations down in our home things looked a little bare. As nice as it felt to have some of the clutter put away I do enjoy having some seasonal decorations up in my living room. I started by gathering a few supplies from my stash of Pebbles goodies.

I grabbed some snowflakes and some stickers from the Winter Wonderland collection as well as some gold foiled Thickers. I chose a piece of blue snowflake patterned paper from the Holly Jolly collection.  This project came together so quickly!

I started by trimming the blue snowflake patterned paper to 8×10. Then I arranged the die cut snowflakes around the patterned paper. Many of them are off the edge of the patterned paper.

Then I added the “let it snow” sentiment with gold foiled Thickers. After adding the sentiment I tucked a few of the snowball stickers around the Thickers.

After I put the DIY Snowflake wall art in the frame I decided that I wanted something that would make the snowflakes stand out a little bit more. Once again, I went to my Pebbles stash and found these large rhinestones that fit perfectly in the centers of a few of the snowflakes.

I love how this cute snowflake frame looks in my living room. I also LOVE that it only took me 30 minutes to create a new winter  decoration for my home. Thanks for stopping by the Pebbles blog today. I’ll see you again soon!

How to Organize Cards

Hi Pebbles friends, it’s Wendy Sue here today sharing an idea for organizing cards!  You probably already know, but I make cards.  A lot of cards.  A lot lot lot of cards.  I love having a huge stash of fun cards to choose from for just about any occasion.  The only problem is figuring out how to best organize them.  I’ve tried lots of different ways over the years (here’s a link to the system I tried last year HERE).  But I’m still looking for the best system for me.  So this year, I’m going to try something new.  I’m putting the Project Life system to work for me in my card-organizing endeavor!  When I thought of this, it almost seemed TOO easy.  Most cards are 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ – which means they fit almost perfectly in a 4″x6″ page protector opening.  I don’t mind having them stick out of the top just a bit – in fact, that makes it easier to pull them out.  And I love the idea of being able to organize the cards by theme, and see them all in a glance – no need to pull out a stack and flip through each card – just open the binder and flip the pages! Here’s a look at my new system:

I made cards for each card “theme.”  These cards will separate the sections in my binder. How to organize your homemade cards by @wendysue for @PebblesInc
I’ll place each one in the top right corner of a page protector for easy reference.

Here’s how easy it was to assemble each of the cards.

First, I cut a 4″ x 6″ piece of patterned paper for each card, and a 3 1/4″ x 4″ paper as well.  I found the themes on the “thankful” paper in the Woodland Forest collection – but many of the Pebbles collections have a similar page that would work!  I also pulled a cute embellishment and some twine for each card.

How to organize your homemade cards by @wendysue for @PebblesInc

The first step is to stitch, with a sewing machine and white thread, the patterned paper to the left side of the neutral 4″x6″ paper:How to organize your homemade cards by @wendysue for @PebblesInc

Next, place the “theme” card on the right side, slightly sticking out over the top of the card. How to organize your homemade cards by @wendysue for @PebblesInc

Next, I used a mini stapler to add the jute to the card. Here’s a simple way to add a jute bow.  Staple the jute down wherever you want the bow to be.How to organize your homemade cards by @wendysue for @PebblesInc

Tie the jute in a knot over the staple (this will pretty much hide the staple). How to organize your homemade cards by @wendysue for @PebblesInc

Now tie a bow – the staple has disappeared and there’s a perfectly placed jute bow!

Add the wooden embellishment to the left side of the card. How to organize your homemade cards by @wendysue for @PebblesInc

That’s it!

Now repeat the process for each card:

I added some thickers to the label holder in the spine of the binder:

Now just tuck your handmade cards into the divided sheet protectors and you’re ready to share love through your cards!  One other thing I like about this system is that I can use some of the other page protectors to hold different sized cards – or even tags.  If I use a regular 12×12 page protector, I could even tuck in gift bags!  Another thing I think I’m going to like about this system is the convenience of seeing which themes need to be replenished!  When I’m in the mood to create cards, I can flip open the binder and see which theme has less “inventory” to choose from and go from there!

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you have a favorite way to organize your cards, please share in the comments – I love seeing how other people organize!!
