DIY Spring Home Decor

Hey friends, Becki here. I am so excited to share a little piece of Spring with you today. During the months of January, February, and (sometimes) March I get SO tired of Winter and look forward to anything Spring related. I was thrilled when the new Tealightful collection landed on my doorstep because of it’s beautiful Spring color palette and theme. I wanted to create a beautiful piece of DIY Spring Home Decor to display in my home. I started by trimming a piece of patterned paper down to 8×10 to fit into my cream colored frame.

I adhered them around the edge of the 8×10 piece of patterned paper. Then I dove into my collection of stickers and die cuts to embellish the center of the frame.

Then…comes the my favorite part. I LOVE Thickers and use them as much as possible so I added the frame sentiment with Thickers from the new Simple Life collection.

After I had my papers, embellishments, and Thickers in place, I took the whole project to my sewing machine to add a little bit of machine stitching. I stitched around the inside of the paper squares twice and at the bottom of the Thickers.

When you take a closer look at the DIY Spring home decor piece I created you’ll see that it isn’t under glass in the frame. I left the glass out of the frame so that you could really see the texture and dimension on the artwork.

In addition to the texture from the Thickers, I also adhered my die cuts with pop dots. By adhering the die cuts with pop dots the kite and the clouds “float” off the frame and add just a little bit more interest.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for Spring!! I’m so excited to have a little bit of Spring in my living room with this DIY Spring home decor. Thanks for stopping by the Pebbles blog today. I’ll see you again soon!

Your stitched frame is perfection! Love how you also stitched through your chipboard alphas! 🙂
