Heart Shaped Love Notes

Hello everyone! It’s Eva Pizarro on the blog today showing you how to make these cute  Heart shaped Love Notes in minutes using Pebbles’ new collection: My Funny Valentine.

I was talking to my husband the other day and he told me he probably is going to be out of town for Valentine’s day. We always do a small celebration so I though of a way to surprise him during his trip. I prepared these little heart shaped love notes that have photos of us on the back and I plan to hide them on his luggage.

I started by making a heart template with a scrap piece of paper and then cut 10 hearts from the 6×6 inch paper pad.

I glued the patterned paper hearts over my photos and cut them all around.

To add a little bit of texture and a more finished look I sewed all around my hearts. If you want to do this step place your photo upside down so your machine foot does not stick to your photographic paper.

Using my Typecast Typewriter I wrote 10 reason I love my husband in white cardstock.

Each love note is very simple: A number from the Alpha Stickers and a banner made with my journaling.

I outlined some of the numbers if the patterned paper was too busy.

The love notes were very simple because I intend to hide them in his luggage, his pockets, his Ipad, anything that he carries with him during the trip. I love that when I gather all the love notes I have an instant mini album!

Do you have any special plans for Valentine’s day? You can use this idea to make a mini book for your husband or maybe put photos of your children and have them write something they love about dad.

DIY Spring Home Decor

Hey friends, Becki here. I am so excited to share a little piece of Spring with you today. During the months of January, February, and (sometimes) March I get SO tired of Winter and look forward to anything Spring related. I was thrilled when the new Tealightful collection landed on my doorstep because of it’s beautiful Spring color palette and theme. I wanted to create a beautiful piece of DIY Spring Home Decor to display in my home. I started by trimming a piece of patterned paper down to 8×10 to fit into my cream colored frame.

DIY Spring Home Decor created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc #DIYSpringHomeDecor #papercrafting #PebblesincThen, I cut twenty 2×2 squares out of various patterned papers from the Tealightful collection. I adhered them around the edge of the 8×10 piece of patterned paper. Then I dove into my collection of stickers and die cuts to embellish the center of the frame.

Then…comes the my favorite part. I LOVE Thickers and use them as much as possible so I added the frame sentiment with Thickers from the new Simple Life collection.

After I had my papers, embellishments, and Thickers in place, I took the whole project to my sewing machine to add a little bit of machine stitching. I stitched around the inside of the paper squares twice and at the bottom of the Thickers.

When you take a closer look at the DIY Spring home decor piece I created you’ll see that it isn’t under glass in the frame. I left the glass out of the frame so that you could really see the texture and dimension on the artwork.

DIY Spring Home Decor created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc #DIYSpringHomeDecor #papercrafting #PebblesincI love the dimension the Thickers add to this project! The stitching also adds additional texture to artwork.

In addition to the texture from the Thickers, I also adhered my die cuts with pop dots. By adhering the die cuts with pop dots the kite and the clouds “float” off the frame and add just a little bit more interest.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for Spring!! I’m so excited to have a little bit of Spring in my living room with this DIY Spring home decor. Thanks for stopping by the Pebbles blog today. I’ll see you again soon!

Quick Snowflake Themed Gift Bag

I don’t know about you, but sometimes January feels a little bit sad.   There are no big holidays to celebrate, decorate for, or give gifts.  This January, especially, we’ve had SO much snow and it’s been so super cold that we haven’t really even gone out much unless it was necessary.  I decided to stop feeling down about it, and create something beautiful instead.  So, I whipped up these little “snowflake themed” gift bags!  It was kind of a fun challenge to create a project that screamed “winter,” but not “Christmas.”  I think I did it though – what do you think?

These little bags will be fun to fill with a treat or a little gift to share with some of my friends who have also been “snow-bound” for the last little while.

Here’s how quick and easy they are to make:

Start by gathering the supplies.  The polka-dot glitter gift kraft bags, the gold circle stickers, and the phrase tags are from the Home+Made collection by Jen Hadfield.   I cut the snowflake shapes from the “b” side of the “tweed” patterned paper from the “Warm & Cozy” collection using my Silhouette.  I have always been a fan of snowflake embellishments that weren’t just plain white – this text paper was a perfect choice for me. The buffalo plaid paper is also from the “Warm & Cozy” collection, it’s called “Antlers.”  I also pulled some black twine and foam adhesive from my stash.

The first step is to add the gold trim to the top and bottom of the plaid (it’s sticky on the back, so this is so quick!) paper.

Place it on the bag front and secure with additional adhesive, and by wrapping the ends of the gold trim to the back of the bag.

Next, “fluff” the snowflakes and layer them together.

And add them to the left side of the plaid piece – I like mine to hang off the edge slightly.

Next, add a gold glitter circle sticker.  I used foam adhesive to add mine to the center of the snowflakes.  Now you have a pile of snow (just like my yard!) – or a snowflake-flower! 😉

Cut the string off the pre-made tag and add some foam adhesive to the back.  Now tuck it next to the gold circle:

Use black twine or crochet thread to “connect” the snowflake center and the tag. Tie a bow!

That’s it, now the bag is complete!

And it is so quick and easy, you can whip up multiple bags in minutes!  Add a little something to the inside and share the winter love!

Welcome Winter’s Butterflies Layout

Hello there! Renee here to share a non-traditional winter layout using a fun mix of Thickers for my title. I used the Jen Hadfield Warm & Cozy collection to create this page. Have you ever heard the saying, “A snowflake is winter’s butterfly”? Well, I paired up this saying with a couple of my favorite snowflake photos of my girls. My photo collage measures 6″ x 6″.

  1. I started this layout by using the Cozy Comfort pattern paper for my background. I trimmed the Checkerboard pattern paper to 9″ x 12″ and adhered it along the top of my background paper.
  2. I added a few strips of decorative Washi Tape onto my background paper.

I used my manual die-cutting machine and a die to create some butterflies for my Welcome Winter’s Butterflies layout. I used this pretty wood Die-Cut Cardstock for my butterflies.

I sprinkled my wood butterflies around the page and used my Magnetic Staple Board to attach them as well as one directly onto my photo collage.

After placing my photo collage among the wood butterflies, I combined a Word Sticker with Cozy Thickers to create my “Welcome Winter’s Butterflies” title.

I added a few fussy cut flowers…

…and stamped a date and winter phrase to finish off my page.

It wasn’t hard for me at all to use the Warm & Cozy collection with these winter photos. The colors went perfectly together. It’s beautiful, fun, and different to me!

DIY Valentine’s Day Home Decor

Hello Pebbles fans! It’s Monique here today and I’m so excited to share my first project created with the new Valentine’s collection “My Funny Valentine” with you! I love celebrating Valentine’s Day, whether it’s watching romantic movies, reading romance novels or going out to a restaurant or cinema with my hubby, I love it all! In our hallway I have this little chest of drawers and each holiday or change of season I create a little scene on it. So as soon as February comes in sight I start decorating for Valentine’s Day! Guess where this frame will be placed?!

Valentines Home Decor made by @MoniqueLiedtke using the #MyFunnyValentine collection from @PebblesInc.

I started my project by gathering the products I thought I would need, like the 6″x 6″ paper pad, the awesome Thickers and the puffy stickers. The photo frame is from my stash of photo frames which I collect for projects like this.

Valentines Home Decor made by @MoniqueLiedtke using the #MyFunnyValentine collection from @PebblesInc.

I chose 5 sheets of paper from the 6″x 6″ paper pad and cut three of them to 4″x 6″, 3.5″x 5.5″ and 3″x 5″ and with the other two I created two labels using my die-cutting machine:

I machine stitched the rectangles together:

The labels were glued together and embellished next, starting with the fabulous matching My Funny Valentine Thickers and some twine:

Next I adhered the gold ampersand from a gold Thickers set  and added two gold puffy hearts from the My Funny Valentine puffy sticker set:

I adhered this set in the center of the rectangles:

For the finishing touch I added a white dotted line around the red label and inserted everything carefully in the photoframe (I’ll add the glass front after photographing my project):

Aren’t the colors and designs of this collection just awesome?!
