Hello everyone! Leanne Allinson here! It’s not long now until the jolly, old man in a big red suit, will visit and like many of you out there, I’m sure you or your children, love to leave a treat out for him. But it is the “behind the scenes” of one our family traditions that I have wanted to document for some time now. The making of such treats! Today I am sharing a layout about the gingerbread people I bake with my children during the school holidays.
I am using the beautiful and bright Christmas paper collection Holly Jolly. It has touches of traditional elements among the ephemera pieces but I have chosen to team up the red patterned paper with a less than traditional colour, the teal snowflake pattern, for my background.
The layered die cut ephemera pieces have been mounted on foam tape and I have created my own tag, using the Holly Jolly mini paper pad.
I love that the reindeer die cut and the gingerbread people stickers, peek out between the clustered layers around the photo.
The gold foil Thickers also help add dimension to my layout but also remind me of the ginger element of my story!
The photo itself may convey the idea that everything is clean and simple during our baking experience. However, that really isn’t the case! The process generally results in a huge mess, but it is always lots of fun making these memories! What can you document about the behind the scenes for one of your family traditions? I’m sure not everything is always what it initially seems! Happy Holidays..x
