Scary Halloween Cards

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique on the blog today with some scary Halloween cards. Fall has finally set in here in The Netherlands; it’s dark early and outside the wind is howling and the sky is grey with impeding rain. Perfect weather to create some Halloween cards!! I used Pebbles’ new Trick Or Treat collection and couldn’t get enough of the fun designs & embellishments.

Scary Halloween Cards made by @MoniqueLiedtke using the #TrickOrTreat collection from @PebblesInc.

All three cards measure 4″x 6″ and have a black dotted cardstock base. The design for the cards is pretty simple: using the 6″x 6″ paper pad I chose 3 or 4 different sheets for each cards and trimmed every sheet 1 centimeter smaller than the one before:

In this case the very last sheet was trimmed to 2″ and cut in a pendant shape. I layered all the sheets on top of each other and machine stitched them before adhering them to the black cardstock base:

After adhering the patterned papers to the black cardstock I embellished it with some fun die-cuts, thread and puffy stickers:

And because I love sending cards with matching envelopes I used the We R envelope punch board to create some envelopes as well!

I can’t wait to put them in the mail box to send them! I still think it’s more fun to receive a “real” card in the mail than an e-card in my e-mail box.

Totally Wicked Layout for Halloween

Hey Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne here today to share a spooky Halloween layout! Well… It’s more cute than spooky, and a whole lot of fun to put together! And by incorporating an awesome off the page element, I’ve taken my layout to another level.

Create a Halloween layout using @PebblesInc #TrickorTreatcollection and include off the page elements as shown by @leanne_allinson .

The Pebbles Inc Trick or Treat collection, not only boasts a fabulous range of patterned papers, but also some very clever cardstock wall bats. Pairing these with a photo of my Batman was an easy decision!

Designed as a home décor product for parties and celebrations, I thought to use them as a way to add dimension to my page. All it took was adhesive to the back and then to have it included on my page just like any other embellishment.

The black glitter cardstock of the bat is then complemented by the black glitter American Crafts POW cardstock alphas I’ve hand crafted using the new We R Memory Keepers mini alphabet punchboard.

Once on the page, my idea was for these cardstock letters to mimic a city landscape silhouette at night. A subtle connection to the photo of my son dressed up as Batman. The bat patterned paper, the puffy stickers and die cut elements also encourage the viewer to look at the overall effect of the layered connections.

I’ve kept the majority of my layout with a monochromatic theme and just a small pop of colour that then leads the eye to the glitter cardstock features. Why not try this idea on your next Halloween page, where each element included, helps to enhance your photo.  Thanks for visiting today..x

Hello everyone. Heather Leopard is here today to share a fun DIY Halloween project your entire family is sure to enjoy.

I don’t know about you but Halloween is a huge deal in our house. My girls absolutely love dressing up, knocking on neighbors’ doors and collecting all the treats they can.  They are always asking me how many days until Halloween so I thought I’d give them a fun activity they can look forward to each day.

Supplies needed:

  • Wooden block or frame
  • Pattern paper
  • Embellishments like die cuts and puffy stickers
  • Clothespins
  • Gesso and paintbrush (optional)

Cut a fun quote out of a lighter colored pattern paper.  I chose “When witches go riding & black cats are seen ’tis ___ days until Halloween.”

You’re going to add more patterns behind the pattern paper with the quote so you may want to tone it down with a bit of paint or gesso.

halloween-countdown-quote-by-heather-leopard
Add fun pattern papers to the back of your quote paper.  Trim if necessary (you can see I had to trim). Adhere to coordinating background paper to help it pop off the wooden block.

halloween-countdown-numbers-by-heather-leopard
Cut large numbers for the countdown and a large bow for the top of your block / frame.

Adhere additional embellishments. I tried to tie back to the witch and black cat theme and then added additional friends, like the spider and his web and the ghost.

Now set it out for your family to enjoy, or in my case, for the kids to fight over who gets to change the date. Just kidding, kind of.

Hello everyone! It’s Eva Pizarro on the blog today sharing a tutorial on how to use use your favorite patterned paper to create a fun layout.

When I saw the new Trick or Treat collection I was immediately drawn to this patterned paper:Paper piece your favorite patterned paper and create this spooky layout with the new Halloween collection #TrickorTreat from @pebblesinc and this tutorial from @evapizarrov

I love the oval frames and I knew I needed to cut them to create my own background with pictures of my little boy’s first costume party. He dressed up like Harry Potter and he was the cutest!

To cut the oval frames I used my Pixscan and traced the paper (Read this tutorial about tracing and cutting designs from patterned paper). You can easily do the same with scissors and lots of patience.

The big frames are die cuts that had spooky images. Cut off the images, place them on top of your photos and cut the excess.

Because I didn’t wanted to fill all my page with frames I divided my page in half with a big patterned paper triangle. I added some small strips of paper and my pictures.

I added some small alphas and my title. Finally I glued my frames in random positions.

I finished my layout decorating with puffy stickers and more die cuts.

And that’s it! I think this Halloween portraits are the cutest!

The black half of the page lets the eye rest and balances the page perfectly!

Do you like it? I hope you do! I am sure you have some halloween photos perfect for this oval frames!

Pumpkin Patch Layout

Hey there Pebbles friends, Becki here. I’m thrilled that the Fall season has finally arrived and that I get to share this fun pumpkin patch layout with you. Each year our family ventures to the local farm to pick out pumpkins. My youngest son (the one in the photo) takes this task very seriously. He scours the pumpkin patch for the perfect pumpkin. He looks forward to this trip every year.

I chose to document our 2015 trip to the pumpkin patch with the Warm & Cozy collection. Because I am a huge fan of Fall, I LOVE this collection. After a trip to the craft store and seeing plaid pumpkins I knew I wanted to create my own plaid pumpkins. I started by cutting outlines of a few pumpkins with my electronic die cut machine.

becki-adams_the-pumpkin-patch_6

Then I filled the pumpkins with plaid patterned papers from the Warm & Cozy collection. I will be making these again very soon. I LOVE how they turned out.

becki-adams_the-pumpkin-patch_7

Of course I wanted these adorable plaid pumpkins to be the focus of my layout. I surrounded my photo with these pumpkins.

becki-adams_the-pumpkin-patch

I added a little more plaid patterned paper on the bottom of the layout to balance the bold pumpkins and so I would have a place to add my long title.

becki-adams_the-pumpkin-patch_4

At the top of each pumpkin (under the stem and top portion) I added pop dots. I wanted a little more dimension on the layout.

becki-adams_the-pumpkin-patch_3I added sprinkles of brown and yellow spray ink around the pumpkins. I also added some gold leaf rub-ons around the pumpkins. becki-adams_the-pumpkin-patch_5Please tell me that you have the Warm & Cozy collection and that you’ll be making some of these gorgeous plaid pumpkins, it would make my day! Thanks for stopping by the Pebbles blog.
