BOO, EEK…Trick or Treat Halloween Layout + Free Cut File

Happy Haunting, Pebbles friends.  Heather Leopard is here and there will be no tricks this Halloween, only TREATS.  Keep reading for a link to download my spider’s web cut file.

This girl of mine successfully attempted to play Mal for Halloween. The only problem with playing the “bad” girl is my daughter’s sweet face and personality so I thought I’d “mean” it up by making the layout a little bit creepy with all these spider webs.

stitched-spiders-by-heather-leopard
I created the spider webs in my Silhouette software and I’m offering it as a free download, which is my TREAT to you today! Download it HERE.

I chose to back the spider web cut-outs with coordinating pattern paper.  I used the smaller prints from the 6×6 paper pad so that the patterns would show more detail.  To get the perfect fit, I used the cut out bits as a template for each “empty” space and just left a 1/4″ border around it.  It made for a perfect fit when I adhered it to the the back of each section of the web.

Next, I stitched over each and every section of the web and left the black threads to add to the creepy effect I was going for.

rosettes
The webs were a bit flat feeling so I added a paper rosette to each of them.

photo-layers
Then, for the photo, I added more coordinating patters, die cuts, tags and stickers.

hidden-journaling
You can even pull the black tag with the spider out from behind to reveal hidden journaling.

I hope you have a wonderful and safe Halloween wherever you are. Make sure to come back here when you’re ready to scrapbook your photos to DOWNLOAD THE FREE CUT FILE!

Happy Haunting!

Hello Pebbles’ fans! Eva Pizarro today on the blog showing you how to make quick and easy treats for Halloween.

I think these would be perfect to give to your friends or coworkers and also to use them as a Name Tag in your next spooky Halloween dinner.

To make these treat bags I used the Candy Punch Board by our friends at We R Memory Keepers and Pebbles’ new Halloween Collection Trick or Treat.

Follow the instructions on the board and assemble your treat with strong liquid glue. Use ribbon to close the packaging, thin ribbon works best with these tiny boxes.

Fill your treat bags with candy and embellish them with a speech bubble and a puffy sticker. The speech bubbles are super cute and you get many in the Ephemera package.

Fill a big bowl or hang them of the ceiling to turn them into a statement decor element.

Halloween Layout

Hey Pebbles friends, Becki here. It’s finally October and that means Halloween is right around the corner. I dove into the brand new Trick or Treat collection to document memories from Halloween Day 2015. This layout was easy and carries a huge impact with the huge title and bold colors. I started with cutting the “trick or treat” title with my electronic die cut machine and adding patterned papers behind each letter from the 6×6 paper pad.

Once the title was finished I started embellishing the layout with bits and pieces from the ephemera pack and a few strips of patterned paper.

I really wanted the focus to be on the title  for this layout so I kept the embellishing to a minimum.

One photo was all I had to document this memory so I printed it at 3×5 and adhered it to the right of the title.

Each die cut is adhered with dimensional foam adhesive. I wanted the die cuts to stand out, literally. 😉

I slightly bent the spiders legs so they would stand out against the background of the layout and the photo.

Quick Gift: Candy Corn Treat Boxes

One of my favorite things about Autumn is that it’s the beginning of TREAT season!  Seriously, I think I consume more sugar from October to December than the entire rest of the year combined! Candy Corn kicks it off for me – I love it!  So, naturally, since I find inspiration in things I love…that’s how these little “Quick Gift: Candy Corn Treat Boxes” came to be!  I’m going to fill them up with candy (perhaps even candy corn) and give them to a few special people!

Here’s how you can make these candy corn inspired treat boxes too!

Start with a “carrot” cut file from the Silhouette store.  Use your software to remove the hole in the top of the carrot – now you’re left with a long, skinny triangular box.  Cut from cardstock.

Cut a template of the front of the box from a scrap of cardstock – then cut it into three pieces – one for each color on the candy corn! Now use the template to cut three pieces of patterned paper:

Place the patterned paper on the front of the box.

Add additional embellishments – I love the little cards from the 6×6 paper pad for this project.  I also added some printed die cuts with foam adhesive, and a even some puffy stickers on some of my boxes.

Now fold it up into the box shape and fill it full of treats!

That’s all there is to it!  You can make one, or a dozen – they really are quick and easy!

OH, and while you’ve got out your Halloween supplies, consider making a fun little Halloween banner with the mini letter punch from We R Memory Keepers – it’s a fun little decoration to add to your home this month!

Halloween Cards for Teachers

Boo!  Renee here today to share a few Halloween cards for teachers I made using the Trick or Treat collection.  Halloween is next week!  I’m so excited because it’s my favorite holiday.  And, this year my girls are dressing up as BB8 and Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  I can hardly wait!

halloween-costumes-2016

With all the holidays coming up, I get busy creating cards for the teachers.  I love making cards and gifts to show my appreciation for all the hard work they do for mine and the other kiddos in their classes.  Payton’s art teacher actually has a Halloween Birthday!  So, I created a fun and special card just for her along with Halloween cards for the other teachers.

Here’s the first “Happy Halloween” card I created:

I started all of these cards with a 6″ x 12″ cardstock base folded to make 6″ x 6″ cards.  I used the 6″ x 6″ Paper Pad to add pretty pattern papers to my cards.  I trimmed this paper down to 5 7/8″ x 5 7/8″.

I added machine stitching around my cards.  For this card, I used a 3 ½” circle punch to create a moon.  I trimmed a trick or treat text pattern paper to add a grassy hill to the bottom of my card.

I added a haunted house Die-Cut, bat Puffy Stickers, and adorable pumpkins fussy cut from the Jack O Lantern pattern paper.  I heat embossed a “Happy Halloween” sentiment to finish off my card.

Here’s the “EEK!” card I created.  I used lots of great Die-Cut pieces on this card.  I love the owl sitting on top of the gravestone with jack o lanterns all around.

Here’s the Halloween “Happy Birthday” card I created.  How perfect is the cupcake witch Die-Cut for this card?!  I love it!

This last “Got Candy?” card I created includes cute Die-Cuts of jack o lanterns wearing witches hats.

I hope you enjoyed these Halloween cards for teachers.  For more inspiration, you can check out the tutorials for the Halloween cards I created last year.  Happy Halloween, Everyone!
