Quick and Easy Summer Gift Ideas

Hello new Pebbles friends. Heather Leopard here today with my first project as a new Pebbles Design Team gal.  I’m super excited to show you a quick gift I made to give to my girls.  We love our  beach vacations and I thought it would be fun to give my girls a little care package to document all our summer activities.

Beach Gift Bags and Mini Albums by Heather Leopard
The creative aspect of this care package includes the gift bag and mini album / journal.  These are relatively easy to make if you have a die cut machine or template you can follow.  The Fun in the Sun collection is perfect for this project.
Beach Gift Bags by Heather Leopard
To get started, I knew I needed to begin with the beach bags. The bags needed to be able to hold the album and other little goodies so I made it fairly large, measuring at 6″ x 8″.  Choosing a design that allowed for a 2 tone pattern gave it added interest.  Then it was time for the really fun part – decorating!

Each bag includes buttons where the straps attach to the bag, a fun sentiment and a coordinating embellishment or two. You could also hang a tag off one of the straps but I am letting my girls decide which ones they want.  Of course, I designed these with my girls’ style and colors in mind so we’ll see how it goes.
Beach Gift Bags Mini Album by Heather Leopard
I designed the mini albums to be 4″ x 6″ to easily fit into the 6″ x 8″ beach gift bags. To create these, simply cut a 8″ x 6″ cover and several inside sheets measuring 3.5″ x 5.5″. I used 5 sheets for the inside to make 10 pages. Center the inside sheets so that there is an 1/4″ border.

Then I stitched it together in the center. Once the mini album is together, it’s time to decorate again!  I added a tone on tone background to cover the album and then I used the fun sentiments from the 3″ x 4″ cards pattern paper, framed it out and then added a dimensional sticker.

I can’t wait to give these to my girls.  We’re taking a road trip soon so I may even print out a few photos from the summer and put a little craft kit together to keep them busy on our way to the beach.

Hello Pebbles’ fans! Eva Pizarro here today showing you the perfect summer treat bags!

The fruit trend is all over the internet and today I want to show you how to make these easy treat bags that I am sure everyone will love!

Cute Fruit Treat Bags by @evapizarrov using the lovely #Everyday collection by @tatertotsandjello and @pebblesinc

Start with a 4 by 6 inch paper. I am using a red one for my strawberry, a yellow with a geometric pattern for my pineapple and a lovely pink ombre for my watermelon.

You are also going to need some leaves for your strawberry and strips of white and green cardstock for the watermelon. Both decorations are 6 inch wide and for the strawberry leaves simply bent the paper in half and then hand cut the shape.

Roll your paper and seal the bag with your Sticky Thumb Cordless Hot Glue Gun. For my watermelon I draw some seeds on my paper and attached my white and green cardstock strips to the bottom.

Close the bottom of your treat bag and fill it, put some hot glue on the other edge and seal it in the opposite direction.

Here you can see my 3 treat bags in progress.

Glue the strawberry leaves and hand cut some leaves for your pineapple, bend them a little and glue them with your Hot Glue Cordless Glue.

Use a circle punch to cut some sentiments from this paper and attach them to your treat bags with some foam dots.

Summer Layout

Hello Pebbles friends, I’m Becki. I’m SO exciting to be joining the Pebbles family for another year. As you know I love Pebbles and all of their products. Today I have a Summer layout to share with you featuring lots of patterned paper (my favorite) and triangles. Triangles are a hot trend in scrapbooking right now. I’ve been waiting to try a technique with layered triangles as an embellishment.

Becki Adams_Slip n Slide

I chose several bright bold patterned papers from the Everyday collection to create this layout. I started by cutting several triangles out of patterned paper.

Becki Adams_Slip n Slide_3

The orange triangles are 2″ squares cut in half. The smaller triangles are fussy cut from patterned papers. I layered all these triangles together to create embellishments that draw attention to the title and photos on the layout.

Becki Adams_Slip n Slide_6

Not only did I use triangles as an embellishment. I added triangle photo corners. Photo corners are so easy to make with just a small scrap of patterned paper. Any size will work but I used a 2″x 1/2″ strip.

Becki Adams_Slip n Slide_4

All you have to do is fold the strip into a point and put the triangle portion over the corner of the photo and adhere the patterned paper to the back of the photo.

I love the bold impact that the triangles make on this layout. Triangles are SO easy to work with and so versatile. I can’t wait to use them on many projects to come.

I’d love to see what Summer layouts you’re creating. Do any of them have triangles on them? I’ll see you again very soon! Thanks for stopping by the Pebbles blog today.

We’re excited to finally announce our new Pebbles design team for the 2016-2017 term! We know these talented ladies are going to create some really incredible projects and can’t wait to see what they cook up. Read on to get to know them a little bit better!

PB Design Team 16-17

Heather Leopard
I was born and raised in the Lone Star State and live in Cypress, Texas with my family – hubby, 2 daughters, 1 bonus son, and 2 rescue dogs. I lead marketing and thought leadership initiatives for a major tech company but my real passion is playing with paper, glue and scissors. I love to scrap the daily adventures of my family and I aim to capture the essence of the little details of whatever it is they are doing. My signature style includes lots of pattern mixing, matching, and layering in fun and interesting ways. I also design for Shimelle.com and Gossamer Blue.

Favorite snack: Butterfinger peanut butter cups but I’ve sworn off processed and added sugar so watermelon it is!
Favorite type of craft: Scrapbooking, sewing and anything I can do with or teach my girls
Favorite hobby (besides crafting): Home renovations / decorating

Monique Liedtke
My name is Monique Liedtke and I live in The Netherlands together with my husband of almost 20 years and 3 wonderful kids: 1 daughter (19) and 2 sons (17 and 11). I work part-time (15 hours a week) in an HR office 5 minutes cycling from home. I’ve always had many hobbies and until I found scrapbooking reading took up most of my free time. Beside reading I love traveling, walking, aqua jogging, line dancing, the cinema, watching detectives, knitting… I’ve been scrapping for about 12 years now and can’t imagine life without it; I scrapbook every day of the week. Sometimes it’s only printing photos or cutting out cut files and sometimes I spend hours creating pages or other projects. Creating scrapbook pages is what I love to do most, but I also love to make cards, mini albums, decorate planners etc. My projects are always full of color and details. My favorite techniques are sewing on my projects, both with the sewing machine and by hand and also using lots of layers and (digital) cut files. I’m so excited to be on the new Pebbles team! It’s a dream come true.

Favorite snack: marzipan! You can wake me up in the middle of the night for this!
Favorite type of craft: Creating scrapbook layouts.
Favorite hobby (besides crafting): Reading. I love reading a lot of genres, just as long as it’s fiction.

Renee Zwirek
Hello, Hello! I’m Renee Zwirek. I live in Aurora, Illinois with my husband, Chris, and our sweet girls, Caitie and Payton.  I love scrapbooking and photography.  It’s so much fun, creative, and keeps me sane.  I’ve been scrapbooking for more than 11 years.  I love creating layouts of my girls and cards for my family.  When I’m not paper crafting, I enjoy spending time with my family, snacking on Gardetto’s, and watching AMC’s The Walking Dead.  I’m so excited and look forward to my 5th year with the Pebbles family!

Becki Adams
Because I’ve been a member of the Pebbles family for a while now, I thought it would be fun to share a few random things about me: I love a clean house, a good book, and a really great cup of hot chocolate (in the winter) or a glass of raspberry lemonade (in the summer). I also love a great find in a thrift store. My most favorite things to look for are books and dishes…a girl can never have too many dishes, or books.

My husband (Justin) spoils me rotten and is my greatest supporter. Together we have 3 kids, Cole, Kayleigh and Austin. All of our kids will go to school for the whole day for the first time in our married lives. It’s a new chapter of our lives with me working at home and all the kids gone all day. I’m excited and a little bit nervous about the long quiet days.

I have been a passionate memory keeper since I was young. This past year I have made scrapbooking/paper crafting my full-time job. I have had the opportunity to work with many amazing companies and have made lifelong friends through this amazing hobby. I am so happy to be working with Pebbles for another year. There are amazing things to come this year with this awesome team, I am so thrilled to be a part of it. I truly love my job!!!

Favorite snack: Chocolate, anything chocolate (except brownies, weird, I know)
Favorite type of craft: I am a traditional scrapbooker at heart. Creating layouts and mini albums makes my heart sing.
Favorite hobby (besides crafting): I love to read, I’m a bookworm! I also love to work on unique home decor projects. I love home decor that is unique and my own!

Leanne Allinson
Hi everyone! My name is Leanne and I live in sunny Queensland, Australia! I am a busy mum of four children – 1 daughter and three sons! My husband and I are actively involved in our boys’ field hockey club and our daughter’s dance life! These guys and their passions are what I love to document as our family historian.. aka scrapbooker!! I create 8.5×11 scrapbook pages and love the challenge this smaller size offers. My style is often described as clustered elements in white space and I love fresh combinations of colour.

Besides scrapbooking, my favourite hobby is photography. The adage “I wish my eyes could take photos” certainly rings true with me! If I don’t have a camera in my hand, there’s probably something wrong! LOL!! My fave snack food is chocolate, with M&M’s leading the way. So ultimately, chocolate and pretty paper will keep me happy any day of the week!
I am so excited to be a part of this amazing team and I can’t wait to start creating with Pebbles product, hopefully inspiring you along the way to document your everyday lifestyle and crazy obsessions!

Eva Pizarro
My name is Eva. I am 35 years old, and I am from Chile. I live in Santiago with my husband Marco and my little one Lorenzo. I have been scrapbooking for almost ten years, and I love it! I started scrapbooking while living in Italy and haven’t stopped since! I love to do layouts, mini albums or home decor. I try to do something creative everyday.

I love the beach, chocolate, to cook (and eat), spend time with my family and photography.
Favorite snack: chocolate
Favorite type of craft: layouts
Favorite hobby: besides scrapbooking, cooking

Wendy Sue Anderson
Hi, I’m Wendy Sue Anderson and I am absolutely thrilled to be working with the amazing folks at Pebbles, Inc. for another year!  I live in a beautiful mountain valley in Utah with my husband and four kiddos. I have been lucky to work in this awesome industry for almost a dozen years and I love it now as much as I did on day one. I can’t wait to share my projects with you over the coming months!

Favorite snack: Does diet coke count? It’s definitely my favorite.  Add a splash of cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime and I’m in heaven!
Favorite type of craft: Anything paper-related: scrapbooking, card-making, gift packaging, etc.
Favorite hobby (besides crafting): We just bought an RV this summer and we’ve fallen in love with traveling and camping!  Anytime we can take our boat out on the water is a bonus.  I also love a good book, playing scrabble, and photography!
