Summer Picnic Quick Gift

Hey there, it’s Amy from The Happy Scraps here today. Do you love summer time? I do, and I love getting outdoors and spending time with my family. One of our favorite things to do is head out on a picnic. Summer was made for picnics, wasn’t it? I decided I wanted to dress up some drinks for us to take on a picnic, but this would be a fun little gift to give to a friend or take with you when getting together with friends for a BBQ or picnic as well. Come along and I’ll show you how I put this Summer Picnic Quick Gift together.

Dress up the drinks for your next get together using the #jenhadfieldeveryday collection and this tutorial from @thehappyscraps on the @pebblesinc blog.

I picked out some fun supplies from the Jen Hadfield Everyday Collection as well as some stickers from the Spring Fling Collection. Using the Everyday Pops of Color paper, I cut it to size, inked the edges and wrapped it around the soda crate box.

I measured the top handle part of the crate, doubled it so I could fold it over the top, and cut some Everyday Honeycomb to the size I needed for it. Then I inked the edges.

I attached it to the top of the box.

I cut  a piece of Everyday Trellis paper and cut a triangle out of the end of it, creating a flag like shape. Once cut, I inked the edges of it as well.

I got the other embellishments ready. I pulled some stickers from the Everyday Cardstock Stickers and Spring Fling Foiled Cardstock Stickers. For the stickers, I used the baby powder trick on. I also used a card from the Everyday Foiled Cardstock Cutouts w/ Gold paper and trimmed it down to the size I wanted. I inked the edges of the card.

I mounted the flag shape onto the box, then started mounting the embellishments. I used 3-dimensional foam tabs to create some dimension.

Once I had everything mounted onto the box, I had fun drawing the dashed line from the bee to the strawberry. I thought it was a fun little addition to the project!

I finished it all off by adding a straw to each bottle of soda. I tied it on with some baker’s twine.

Now I’m all ready to grab it and head out on a picnic! Who’s coming with me?!

Aren’t the embellishments on the front so cute?

And the straws, it just wouldn’t be complete without them.

Whip up one of these cute little Summer Picnic Quick Gifts for your next little get together. It’ll be so fun!

DIY Pineapple Hoop Decor

Hello friends! Amanda here today. Thank you for stopping by the Pebbles blog. Today’s project is trendy, fun, easy, and inexpensive–my specialty!

DIY Pineapple Hoop Decor by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc Everyday collection

I am still smitten by the pineapple trend. They are just so bright and colorful. They are perfect for summer and super cheery in winter. This DIY pineapple hoop decor would be perfect year-round!

Making the pineapple is as easy as it looks. I punched out 3/4″ squares, gently bent them on the diagonal and adhered them to the paper with tiny glue dots. You could make a mini pineapple with small squares, or a giant pineapple with extra large squares.

Making the leaves was just as easy as punching the yellow squares. I free-hand cut several spiky leaves and alternately arranged them starting at the top of the hoop. I added a few leaves here-and-there to add more texture to the leaves. I also bent the leaves slightly to add dimension.

And I couldn’t resist a cute pom-pom border.

To make the pineapple, start by punching or cutting several 3/4″ squares. You can also vary the size of the square depending on your project. Gently fold the squares to give them some dimension. Experiment with the arrangement and size of the pineapple inside of your embroidery hoop until you make one that works perfectly with your project. Free-hand cut some leaves to size.

Adhere pom pom trim to the back of the hoop with a small bead of hot glue.

Beach Waves Layout

Hello everyone! how are you? It’s Eva Pizarro here in the Pebbles’ blog showing you how to make this quick summer layout.

This was the first summer my son Lorenzo could enjoy the beach, and of course I wanted to document that story! After hours of being afraid he finally decided he wanted to go into the water and sit on the sand. On our second day at the beach he didn’t wanted to leave and finally enjoyed the waves!

I thought it would be cute to create some waves on my page so I hand cut some patterned paper and bend the edges a little to give dimension. I also wanted to include a big sun so I drew a circle on the right corner of my layout.

To fill my sun I used some punched circles and enamel dots. For the smaller circles I used my confetti punch from We R Memory Keepers, I love that punch!

I attached everything in place with some liquid glue and erased my circle.

Finally I added some embellishments and my title.

I created a cluster of embellishments on the left side of my photo to balance the big sun I had on the right.

The sun turn out great! and the little circles punched with the confetti punch helped me fill all those gaps left by the big circles.

Aren’t these alphas super cute? I also included an anchor inside the waves to give a little more movement to the layout.

I hope you liked this layout, it really makes me feel like summer! Are you recording all these little summer stories? I love to include long journaling on my pages, the technique I used on this layout is perfect for that!

Summertime Card Set

When I think of Summer, there are definitely some iconic images that pop into my mind: lemonade, lawnmowers, sandals, pools, campfires, and watermelon.  Mostly watermelon.  I honestly believe I’ve consumed more than my weight (plus all four of my kid’s weight, and probably  my husband’s weight, all added together) in watermelon over my lifetime – probably once each summer.  And, between you and me, I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.  I LOVE watermelon.  Especially watermelon with salt.  (Do you put salt on your watermelon?)  So, in honor of my favorite summertime treat, I created a watermelon summertime card set to share with you today!

The challenge here was to use miscellaneous papers (not traditional “watermelon” colored papers) to create my cards.  I chose to use products from the “Everyday” collection only!  Here’s a quick peek at the papers I chose:

My all-time favorite technique for scrapbooking and cardmaking is paper-piecing, and I use it whenever I can.  For this card set, I found a digital die shape to use.  Of course, you could easily draw your own pattern and cut out the watermelon slices by hand!  I cut out the pieces from the various patterned papers – including a white base for the finished card.

Assembling the pieces is pretty intuitive – everyone knows what a watermelon looks like. 😉

If you look closely, you’ll see that I used the woodgrain pattern for the seeds – I love the way it looks!

After the pieces are all attached to the base, I added the entire piece to the folded card base.

Finally, I cut some of the sentiments from the “Happy Thoughts” paper, mounted them on white cardstock, punched a hole, and tied them around each “slice” with baker’s twine.

That’s it! Now my little summery card set is complete!

And I’m off to have a slice for myself.

Firecracker Boxes

These little Firecrackers are actually a 3D Firecracker Box  file made to fill up with treats but they also look super cute displayed as Patriotic decor on your mantel.

To make the Firecracker Boxes, I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut out the boxes in three different sizes using various patterned papers from the America the Beautiful collection.

I embellished the top of the boxes with  curled paper and red, white and blue tinsel.

Then adhered America the Beautiful card stock shapes on to each one.
