America’s Favorite Past Time

Hey Pebbles friends, Becki here. I’m so excited to share this layout with you that I created with the new America the Beautiful collection. Red, white, and blue is one of my favorite color combinations. Not only does it make me think of July 4th, Memorial Day, and Flag Day. It makes me think of baseball.

America's Favorite Past Time, a Baseball Layout by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #scrapbooking #scrapbook #scrapbookingsports

My little guy (okay, he’s not really little anymore, he’s 14) played in little league for 8 years. I created a layout documenting his 8 years of little league and what his favorite part about it was. (It wasn’t easy getting that much information from a 14 year old boy!)

America's Favorite Past Time, a Baseball Layout by @jbckadams for @pebblesinc #scrapbooking #scrapbook #scrapbookingsports

I started by collecting a few things from the America the Beautiful collection. I grabbed the washi strips, the glitter star stickers, Thickers, and a few strips of patterned paper that I had trimmed to 1/2 inch. Some of those 1/2 inch strips are branding strips.

I put my title on the layout first, added the strips of patterned paper/washi tape above and below the title.

This layout has minimal embellishment. I only added a few star stickers, 3 die cuts, and some ink splatters.

The journaling on this project reads:

For eight years, 5 nights a week (sometimes a little less) we were a little league family. Cole started playing baseball when he was just a little guy and played until he was thirteen. We started running him to practices in March and starting running to practices and games April through June. Cole’s favorite thing about little league was pitching and learning how to pitch well. I think he also loved the time he got to spend with his dad when his dad was helping coach and at practices. 2016 is the first year in many years that we’re not a little league family.

I love how this project turned out. How do you document your sports memories? I’d love to see what you create!

Hi, Renee here today to share a couple of 4th of July cards I made using the America the Beautiful collection.  Yay! The 4th of July is coming up soon and with that all the celebrating.  My favorite parts are the looks on my girls faces as they watch the fireworks.

Here is my first card:

I gathered the supplies used for this card.  My card base measures 5″ x 6″.

I started by trimming the Fireworks pattern paper to 4 ¾” x 5 ¾” and made sure to include the bottom decorative strip because I really liked the red stripes.  I added splatters of Golden Color Mist across the card.  I added a Washi Tape Strip along the top of the bottom decorative strip.  I added Glitter Star Stickers and arranged them to go around the eagle die-cut I used as the main embellishment of this card.  Love it!

Here is my next card:

  1. I used the star punch for a great border along the side of my card.  TIP:  Punch any sheet of paper first and use it as a template to center the stars on the card and pencil mark where the first star and last star will be punched out.
  2. I trimmed the American Plaid pattern paper to 4 ¼” x 6 ¾”.  I trimmed the American Blooms pattern paper to 1″ x 6 ¾” and adhered it along the side of the American Plaid pattern paper.
  3. I added splatters of Golden Color Mist across the pattern paper layers and adhered it to my card base.
  4. I added the Statue of Liberty Die-Cut, flowers sticker, and “Happy 4th of July” sticker to embellish my card and sprinkled a bit more Golden Color Mist around the card.

I love the way this card turned out!  It looks like fireworks going off next to the Statue of Liberty.  I hope you enjoyed my 4th of July cards and hope that they inspire you to create yours with this wonderful collection.  For more awesome card inspiration using America the Beautiful, check out these patriotic cards.  Have a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Red, White & Blue Pinwheel Decor

Hello there! Amy from The Happy Scraps here today and I’m excited to be sharing my newest Red, White & Blue Pinwheel Decor piece with you today. I love to decorate for Independence Day and the new America the Beautiful collection is perfect for it.

Create this Red, White & Blue Pinwheel Decor to use as a centerpiece or decor for Independence Day. @thehappyscraps show you how with the #americathebeautiful collection from @pebblesinc.

To start off, I grabbed the Patriotic Posies Paper and used the gift bag punch board to make a little bag for my pinwheels. I cut my paper to be 7″ x 12″ and followed the instruction on the gift bag punch board to make my bag. I used the Sticky Thumb Two-Sided adhesive tape to put my bag together. I embellished the front with the fireworks and Pledge of Allegiance from the America the Beautiful Ephemera Die-Cuts. I hot glued a piece of floral foam into the bottom of my bag, so I’d be able to stick the pinwheels down into it.

Once I had my bag done, I started on the pinwheels. I cut my paper into 4″ squares and followed the instructions on the pinwheel punch board.

I punched the corners, lined up the paper with the size I started with. I punched the center hole and cut where it needed to be cut. Because I was layering the pinwheels, I followed the instructions for cutting the second piece.

I got all my papers cut, got my pinwheel parts out, and started assembling them. I placed the back piece of paper on the back, and layered the front piece at a diagonal on the top. I put it on the plastic part for the pinwheel, then added the front pinwheel part.

I pulled the back paper through the cuts on the front, pulled all the punched holes to the center and put them on the dowel piece. I place the front cap on, added a star sticker, and put the paper straw in the back.

Once I got all of my pinwheels made, I put them in my bag.

I had the perfect spot for it up on my shelf next to the rest of my Independence Day decor.

I love the way the pinwheels look all done up! They are SO fun!

Even though the bag was really simple to make and put together, as well as add the embellishments to it, I love the way it turned out. I was excited when I found the Pledge of Allegiance in the pack.

Firecracker Bubbles Quick Gift

Hello everyone!  Amanda here today.  I can’t think of anything more iconic on the Fourth of July than fireworks.  Most of us wait all year long eagerly awaiting the spectacle as we sit with our family on a blanket.  Bring fireworks indoors or to a party by creating these delightfully simple firecracker gifts.

Not only are these festive holiday firecrackers super fun all on their own, they hide a special gift inside.  Any guesses?  They  come together in a snap and would make fun party favors or home decor.

Bubbles!  Who doesn’t like bubbles in the summertime?  I thought my kids, ages 9 and 12, would be indifferent but they couldn’t wait to get their hands on these bubbles.  Simply push the bubbles up from the bottom of the paper tube like a push pop.

Firecracker Bubbles Quick Gift by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc America the Beautiful collection

Top each firecracker with a fringed paper spray.  They are seriously one of the most fun things I have made in a while and they are take no time at all.

Each bottle of bubbles is wrapped with a piece of patterned paper or two.  Cut the paper to size depending on the size of your bubble container.  Measure the diameter for the top after you have wrapped your bubbles with a strip of paper.  Use a piece of regular ol’ white copy paper to make the fringe.

Firecracker Bubbles Quick Gift by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc America the Beautiful collection

Punch or cut a circle that is the same diameter as your tube and adhere to the top of the bubbles container.  This makes the firecracker look complete while still giving you access to your bubbles.

Make the fringed paper spray by cutting fringe into a 8 1/2″ x 3″ piece of plain white copy paper.  Fringe scissors will make this task go super quickly, but a pair of regular scissors will work just as great.  Apply adhesive to the end of the strip before rolling up your fringe.  Starting at one end, roll your fringe into a single bundle.

Firecracker Bubbles Quick Gift by @amanda_coleman1 using @pebblesinc America the Beautiful collection

At first, your fringed paper spray will look stiff and boring.  Create gentle curls in your fringe by gently pulling the fringe between your thumb and a ruler just like you would use scissors to curl gift ribbon.

Adhere the fringed paper sprays to the top of the firecracker with a glue dot and they’re ready for the party! Have a fun and safe Fourth of July!

Hello everyone! welcome to the Pebbles’ blog! I’m Eva Pizarro and today I will show you how to make some cute personalized bookmarks for friends and family!

I love to read and to me there’s nothing more relaxing than going to the beach with a good book. I made this bookmarks with the Everyday line because I wanted fresh and bright colors and this line had the perfect designs!

Personalized bookmarks made by @evapizarrov with #everyday line by @pebblesinc

This bookmarks are really easy, just cut strips of paper and a piece of white cardstock.

Personalized bookmarks made by @evapizarrov with #everyday line by @pebblesinc

Place your strips of paper in different direction creating different designs.

Personalized bookmarks made by @evapizarrov with #everyday line by @pebblesinc

Using some tools from our sister company,We R Memory Keepers, I make a hole and rounded the edges.

Personalized bookmarks made by @evapizarrov with #everyday line by @pebblesinc

To stamp the name I used this BIG roller stamp. I love this tool and it is so versatile! You can see other projects using it in mini cards, small gifts and a mini album.

You can stamp a name or also a message. I did one for my husband with the phrase “I love you” for example.

And if you don’t have a roller stamp you could just put the first letter of their name using Alpha Stickers! It would look lovely too!

To make the tassel I cut a long piece of twine and put it on my bookmark. I also did a knot where I wanted my tassel to be.

Personalized bookmarks made by @evapizarrov with #everyday line by @pebblesinc

Next, I wrapped some twine on my fingers

And tied the loops to the long piece of twine.

I cut the end of the tassel including the two long strands of twine. I cut a smaller piece I wrapped it on my tassel.

And this is how my bookmark turned out!

They look lovely and the tassel gives them a nice touch!

Now I am ready to go to the beach and start a good book!

I hope you like these and that you can try making them at home! I am sure you and your friends will love them!

You can include this bookmark in another summery gift like this one from Becki!
