Hi friends, it’s Wendy Sue back with you today!  I’m kind of a goofy kid with a silly sense of humor…so the “punny” valentines in the “Be Mine” collection were right up my alley.  I couldn’t wait to sit down and create some unique cards with the punny cards, stickers, and embellishments included with this fun collection full of cute images and traditional reds and pinks!  Here’s a look at the card set I created:

But wait…there’s more!  Not only are the fronts of these cards cute, but there’s a big surprise inside!

Yep, pop-up valentines!!  They are super cute, and super easy to make. Here’s how:

First, you’ll need one sheet of  12×12 cardstock for each card base.  You need to cut one card base (any size you wish), and a second one about 1/4″ smaller all around.

After they are cut, score and fold them in the middle.  (these cards should open from the bottom up, not from the right side).

Use scissors to cut a notch in the middle of the smaller card. When the card is open, the notch will “pop up!” Open the base and fold the middle notch the opposite direction on the same score line:

Now you can add whatever item you’d like to “pop” right on the front of the notched out piece. Make sure the bottom of the sticker doesn’t go down further than the tab – it needs to fold under when the card is closed:

Now use adhesive to place the small card base inside the large one.  Don’t glue the pop-up tab!

Now you can add embellishments to the inside of the card:

After you’re happy with the inside, pull out some additional products to decorate the front of your card:

Put it all together:

Completed!

Now repeat the process for each of the Valentines you’d like to create:
