I love making paper leaf wreaths because they are easy and inexpensive, but they look lush and fantastic. Paper leaves are quite sturdy making these wreaths easy to store or keep up all year round.
I used all the gold foiled and glittered papers from several Pebbles collections to create this shiny holiday leaf wreath. Ooooh. Ahhhh.
Die cut or hand cut about 60-65 4″ paper leaves to go on a 12″ wreath base. If you don’t have a die cutting machine, hand cutting leaves goes pretty quickly and will look just as polished.
Score each leaf down the center. Don’t worry if your score line isn’t perfectly in the center.
Gently fold each leaf, creating a nice crease down the center. Folding the leaves will help add dimension to wreath.
Start by making a wreath base out of a piece of corrugated cardboard. Yep, no expensive wreath forms required here. Cut the outer circle with a 12″ diameter and the inner circle with a 9″ diameter. Fold the ends of the leaves in to add even more dimension to the wreath and staple them to the cardboard wreath form. Yep, regular ol’ staples. Don’t worry. The folded leaf ends and staples will get covered up by other leaves and no one will know the difference.
Paper leaf wreaths make a perfect home decor on a wall, mantel or shelf. Add a bow or berries to make this wreath extra festive for the holidays.
