Abbey Farms Layout

Hi, Renee here today to share a colorful fall layout using the Harvest collection.  What would fall be without a trip to the pumpkin farm?  We went with a bunch of friends to the pumpkin farm and I took a bunch of photos of the girls.  I love the fall colors in the Harvest collection.

For this layout, I used one 4″ x 6″ and two 3″ x 4″ photos.  Love these pumpkin farm photos!

I used the Fall Time pattern paper for the background of this layout.  I trimmed 3″ from one side of the Scattered Leaves pattern paper and centered it onto my background paper.

I used the Open Scallop punch on the Flowers pattern paper to create a fun border along my center pattern paper.  I also added a thin black washi tape along the punched border.

I used the Sticky Thumb Double-Sided Super Sticky Red Tape to adhere the open scallop borders along the center paper.  I added machine stitching.

I wanted to use these pretty Wood Veneer Leaves to embellish my page.  I just love them!  You saw Eva use watercolors, mists, and pigment ink to color the wood veneer leaves she added to her layout.  You could use this technique or leave them natural.  I used acrylic paints to add fall colors to my leaves.

I used all eight different leaf designs on my page.  I used washi tape to make sure I would have some wood veneer still showing instead of painting the entire leaf.  I love how the wood veneer leaves look after peeling back the washi tape.  If you don’t have the paint colors you want to use and are mixing color mist with white acrylic paint for your colors, then make sure that the paint is thick enough to paint on because the color will bleed into the wood veneer after you peel back the washi tape.  You can see it happened a little bit with my green leaves.

I used the Peppercorn Thickers for my title.

I couldn’t have this pumpkin farm layout go without at least one cute and fun pumpkin embellishment.

I used the Roller Stamp to stamp the season and year of these photos.

Easy Muffin Wraps

Hi everyone!  Amanda here today.  The other day I went to the local bakery for some carbtastic goodness and had the most delicious pumpkin chocolate chip muffin.  I was so impressed with my muffin that I bought the rest of them and came home and created a customized wrapping for each delicious treat.

Inspired by the brown bakery wrapping around each muffin, I used the rich, warm patterned papers from the Harvest collection to create a pretty wrapping for each muffin.   They are super easy to make and don’t require any special tools.  Bonus.

Pretty, right?  These muffin wraps would help turn a homemade (or bakery bought) muffin into a special treat or gift.  Don’t be shy when adding a “from my kitchen” or “home made” sticker.  No one will ever know the difference.

Each muffin wrap is wrapped with jute twine secured with a sticker.  No doubt that these bakery muffins were made with love.

Although these wraps contain a yummy muffin, you could also use them to doll up a fancy cupcake or fill them with other treats or goodies.

To make the muffin wraps, start with a 7″ x 7″ piece of patterned paper.  Fold the paper in half (both ways), creating nice creases.  Trace a 2 1/2″ circle on the inside center of the wrap.  This will help guide you as you create the remaining folds.

Begin by using your finger to fold the paper along the circle.  TIP: Trace the circle several times with a pen to create a score line.

Using the creases and the circle you created earlier, bring the two sides of the crease together, overlapping by about 1″.

Fold your paper over to the side and press down to create a crease on the back.  Repeat with all four sides of the muffin wrap.

Fold up each side of the wrap and secure with a staple.

Fluff and fuss over your newly made wrap just a bit, embellish with twine and stickers, and fill with something yummy.  Your friends and family won’t be disappointed. (Need another easy fall treat idea?  Check out this one HERE.) Thanks for stopping by today!

Quick and Easy “Harvest” Cards!

Good morning, Pebbles friends!  It’s Wendy Sue joining you today, sharing my latest card set!  I just love the deep, rich colors in the “Harvest” collection.  The die-cuts (chips) of bottled foods make me feel nostalgic, as I remember my Grandmother and mother spending hours bottling various fruits and vegetables when I was young.  Even if I didn’t actually want to eat the food (I was such a picky eater), I sure thought they looked pretty all lined up on the shelves in our basement!  As soon as I saw these embellishments, I knew they would make special cards!  Here’s a peek at the two cards I created:

These cards were lots of fun to make – would you like to see my process?  Here it is!

First, I cut a strip of kraft cardstock 4 1/4″ x 12.”  After cutting the strip, I scored it at 5 1/2″ and folded it over.  This allows the bottom to be a bit longer than the top.

Quick and Easy Cards by @wendysuea with the "Harvest" collection by @Pebblesinc.

Next, I cut two patterned papers to cover the front and inside of the card base.  The smaller piece is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the larger piece is 4″ x 5 3/4.”

Here’s a little secret – I added some fun to the inside of these cards!  I used the recipe card die to cut recipes from the lined paper and placed it over the patterned paper.  Then I cut a sentiment from one of the papers (listed below), and finally added a layered sticker!

Back to the front of card.  I wanted to “tone down” the deep color on the front of the card so the die-cuts would really pop! To do this, I cut a piece of vellum the same size as the patterned paper.  I added adhesive directly behind the jars (in the next step) to attach it to the front.

Now the jars, all by themselves, are really darling.  But I wanted to dress them up a bit.  So I tied jute around the “lids” of each jar.  And on one jar, I cut a banner word to “hang” from the lid. The jars are attached to the card front with dimensional adhesive dots.

Ta-da! Here’s the finished card! (Since there were a total of six die-cut bottles, I created a second card following the same steps.)

I hope you’re inspired to create some special “Harvest” cards to give to someone special today!
