Apple Treat Cookie Bag

Hello Pebbles Inc. Fans, Holly here today from Ribbons & Glue. Apples is the design theme this week, and I have an easy idea to share with you on how to make an Apple Treat Cookie Bag using the new Pebbles Inc. Harvest Collection.

Fall is my favorite season. Just love the aroma of fresh baked apples with cinnamon and pumpkin spices in the air. I must confess though, these apple pastries are not homemade. I had every intention of making a homemade treat then found frozen pastries at the grocery store and that was the end of my homemade recipe idea. #reallife However my {pre-made} apple pastries look yummy wrapped up in Harvest Cookie Bags.

I embellished the Cookie Bags with the included tags then wrapped them with twine and adhered a leaf die cut shape and puffy apple sticker on the outside.

The apple pastries fit perfectly into the Harvest Cookie Bags. Even though they ‘re not technically homemade, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Elementary School Double-Page Layout

Hello, Renee here today to share a double-page layout using the Harvest collection. Well, my girls are back in school. Caitie started 5th Grade! Her last year in elementary school. I created this elementary school double-page layout so that we can look back at her time there. Her First Day of School photos bring back floods of memories. I love seeing what she wore, what the weather was like that day, and remembering the emotions behind each smile…excited, nervous, and happy.

When you open up the flaps, I included Caitie’s school pictures. I will add her 5th Grade picture once she takes it and we receive it in a few months. With each photo, I included basic information like the teachers name, the school, the grade, and the school year. ALL of my photos measure 2.5″ x 3.5″.

I started this double-page layout by first creating the flip-up spots for my photos. I cut the Apple Crisp pattern paper into 3 3/8″ x 9″ strips…

…and folded them in half.

Knowing where my photo flaps would go, I worked on my background paper. I love the Cutting Board pattern paper! I added some heat embossed apples to two sheets.

A bit of old school technique here…I added some rub-ons to the apple Puffy Stickers. They went on really easy and it’s a cute way for me to add the grade info to each top photo.

Love it! I added each apple to a fussy cut flower and use this embellishment to open each photo flap. Love the heat embossed apples sprinkled around both pages.

I made a banner using the lined pattern paper and added a Dr. Seuss quote to it. I really love this quote and very fitting for Caitie’s last year in elementary school. I used the Doctor Soos Bold font for the banner journaling.

I added some braches with leaves and an owl Die-Cut Shape.

…and School Picture Day photo. I used the Appleberry font for the journaling with each photo.

I added some great Enamel Dots around each journaling spot along with some more fussy cut flowers.

I added strips of the Fall Time pattern paper along the top of both pages. I also punched out a pretty border of the reverse side of this paper and added it to both sides.

I love the way these Thickers look like chalkboard.

Applesauce Gift Jars

It’s September! Can I get a hallelujah? Amanda here today with an enthusiastic hallelujah! of my own. I can’t wait to cozy up in a bulky sweater and drown myself in hot chocolate. But here at the farm, fall also means applesauce. While I don’t have apple trees of my own, I have neighbors who beg me every year to take apples off of their hands. If I’m not careful, they’ll leave a box on my doorstep and run.

Wrapping up a mason jar full of homemade delights is a cinch. Simply wrap the jar with a strip of paper and add a printed tag. Maximum specialness with minimal effort. No time for homemade? Dress up a jar of treats from the store to give it a homemade feel.

The Harvest collection is so full of cozy fall textures. The flour sack fabric stickers are my favorite. The coarse weave and slightly frayed edges add a warm, homespun feel to just about any project. (And what about the bright red applesauce? It’s flavored with red hots. YUM!)

Canned goods and gingham lids to together like peanut butter and jelly. Cut a circle from gingham paper and wrap it around the top of the jar. Make it look even more adorable with red baker’s twine and a chalkboard tag. Awww!

Don’t forget the tops of the jars. This is a perfect place to add a label or other fun embellishment.

Crafty Tip: Use a Slick Writer marker to write on, well, slick surfaces like stickers. It works like a dream and won’t smudge one bit. I rubbed my finger all over this label and you Can’t. Even. Tell.

First of all–PEBBLES WOOD STAMPS! Okay, now that it’s out of my system, I’ll get some stamping tips.

Stamping Tip #1: Apply ink directly to the stamp rather than tapping the stamp on top of the ink pad. This will allow for better ink coverage.

Stamping Tip #2: Press down firmly on the stamp. Don’t He-Man smash it, just press it evenly. Also, don’t rock or roll the stamp. That’ll just leave a weird black ring around your image.

Stamping Tip #3: Clean stamps using regular ol’ baby wipes. This may require an explanation if a friend catches you in the baby aisle at the store (true story). They’re just for stamps, I swear.
