Happy Spring y’all! Amanda here today with a sweet and easy St. Patrick’s Day treat bag idea. There’s not a smidgen of Irish blood in our family, but we sure are suckers for St. Patrick’s Day traditions. My kids are eager to pinch anyone not wearing any hint of green and we are all eager to indulge in a traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage. We also like candy. And any candy wrapped in gold is extra fun on St. Patrick’s day.
Using only a couple sheets of paper, your favorite bag or box die, and some gold wrapped candy, you can create a sweet little gift to give on St. Patrick’s Day. Surely there’s someone you can butter up with a little pot o’ gold.
Stuff the treat bags to the brim with your favorite gold wrapped candy. Use a nifty little gold clip from the Cottage collection to keep everything together. Creating a custom window treat bag is easy. Simply use your favorite box or bag die and die cut an oval (or other shape) into the front of the bag. I opened an digital cut file and used the design software to draw an oval near where I would be placing the pot.
Switch things up a bit by adding rainbow colored candy to the treat bag. Although technically not a pot of gold, the rainbow colors still make it a fun St. Paddy’s day gift. Or stuff the bag with something else altogether.
Sometimes I get so excited by a craft, I forget to do the simple things first. Note to self: adhere the transparency to the inside before you assemble the bag.
Have some fun and add additional dimension to the treat bag by adhering the pot with foam dots. BONUS SNEAKY CRAFTER TIP: Tighten up baggy bows by gently pulling down the string and securing it with a piece of transparent tape.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day!
Amanda
