Hi there, it’s Becki, here to share with you some super easy Valentines treat bag toppers. These bag toppers took about 30 minutes, start to finish. I started with the We Go Together 6×6 paper pad. I cut 3 sheets of it down to 5 inches (because that is the width of my bag) and then scored it at the 3 inch mark.
After scoring and folding my patterned paper I dug into my stash of embellishments and embellished each topper with lots of stickers and a few bits of patterned paper.
Once I added my stickers I was ready to attach them to the treat bags.
Because I didn’t want to fill these giant bags clear full of treats I trimmed them down to 5 inches long before I added the treats.
I thought it would be fun if I sewed the topper to the bag with my sewing machine.
After a little bit of trial and error I found that it was easiest to sew the bag closed before putting the topper on. By sewing the bag shut first I didn’t have to fight those little Hershey’s Kisses to stay in the bag while I was stitching the topper on.
After I sewed the bag shut I taped it to the topper (just with a tiny piece of tape to hold it in place while I was sewing).
And finally it was time to sew the topper to the bag.
And here’s what they look like all stitched together and full of treats:
