Burlap Succulent Planters

Now that the holiday season is in full swing, it is time to start thinking about putting together hostess and thank you gifts.  Parties will be attended, gifts will be given, and many thanks will be returned.  Create a rustic thank you gift container with supplies you already have around the house.  Prepare a few ahead of time and you’ll always be ready with a thank you gift.

Burlap Succulent Planters by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Home+Made collectionI love giving small plants as gifts, not only because they are inexpensive, but because they are pretty and will last a long time.  Upcycling a small can makes for a lovely presentation and doubles as a reusable planter.

Burlap Succulent Planters by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Home+Made collectionUpcycled cans make lovely thank you gift containers.  They are inexpensive and readily accessible.  Wrap each can with a piece of colorful twine and a bright thank you tag and insert a low-maintenance succulent plant.

Burlap Succulent Planters by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Home+Made collectionYou don’t even need to pot the plants in the cans to make a nice thank you gift.  I put a couple of empty jar lids in the bottom of each can to prop up the plants, and placed the potted plant inside of the can.  This allows the recipient to decide how to use the can.  I think it would make a pretty swanky pencil cup, too.

Hi friends, it’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a fun little “thank you” card gift set I whipped up to give to a friend.  Making handmade cards doesn’t have to be time-consuming or labor-intensive.  This little set of cards is easy to put together, and the fun packaging makes it look so personalized and unique!

I used papers, stickers, and other products from the Home + Made collection.

First I trimmed the premade A2 cards to 4 1/2″ wide.

I cut several strips of patterned paper, 1/2″ x 4″ and lined up five of them on each card front.

Next, I cut some of the “thank you” type sentiments from the “party line” paper and added one to each card.

I added a gold chevron sticker to the bottom corner of each sentiment block and a butterfly sticker to the top left corner with foam adhesive dots.

For the packaging, I used some paper scraps and a gift bag.  I folded the top of the bag over and then created a band with the patterned papers.

Next, I placed stickers, a trimmed “thanks” block, and a big butterfly sticker to the front of the wrap.

Now, simply tuck the cards inside, place the band around the bag, and share with a friend!

Gratitude Journal

Hi everyone! I’m Eva Pizarro and today I’m sharing a cute journal made with the Home + Made line (along with some free printables) to help us record the thing we are grateful for.

I came across gratitude journals a few years ago and thought it was a great idea! This one is fairly small so you don’t need to spend a lot of time doing it, just a simple phrase or a single word a day can help you be more grateful and aware of all the wonderful things you have.

To do the journal you will need two pieces of cardboard of approximately 3 x 6 inches. Cover the cardboard with a bigger piece of paper leavening an inch on every side. Bend all the sides and glue the 4 corners in 45 degrees.

Glue the four sides and glue anoter piece of paper on top to cover everything.

Cut 13 papers 3 x 6 from the Home + Made line. Create a journal template or download the printables I made (you can find them at the bottom of the post) and print them. Glue these in the journal pages.

Place two eyelets on the back cover and one of each corner of the covers. The two eyelets in the back will allow you to pass a ribbon to close the journal.

Embellish the cover, assemble all the pages and you are done!

Here’s a closer look to the cover so you can see the beautiful golden letters.

You can do one for yourself and maybe give one as a gift!
Hope you like it!
