Holiday Cards for Teachers

Hi, it’s Renee here today to share a few Holiday Cards for my girls’ teachers I made with the wonderful new Home for Christmas line.  To get a jump on the busy holidays, I like to start creating my teacher cards sometime in November.

Holiday Cards for Teachers by @reneezwirek using the #HomeForChristmas collection by @PebblesInc.

This holiday card is for both the girls’ music teacher and Caitie’s Chorus teacher.  I started with the A2 Kraft card (which measures 4″ x 5.5″).  I cut the Oh Christmas Tree paper to 3.75″ x 5.25″ and placed it down first.  Because I knew I would add machine stitching all around the card, I used minimal adhesive.  How perfect is this sheet music pattern paper?  I cut the Christmas Carol paper to 3.5″ x 5″ and added it next.  I machine stitched around the card.  Then, I fussy cut some pretty poinsettias, used foam dots for dimension, and added a bit of Icicle Zazz! Glitter Glue to the centers of the flowers.  I cut the “Merry Christmas” from the bottom strip of the Deck the Halls paper and added more foam dots for dimension.

This holiday card is for the girls’ art teacher.  I started again with the A2 Kraft card (which measures 4″ x 5.5″).  Then, I had Payton add some red and green color mists to white cardstock.  She dipped her paintbrush into the bottle and painted her sections.  After it dried, I cut the cardstock to 3.75″ x 5.25″ and machine stitched around the card.  Then, I simply added a die-cut cardstock shape using foam dots and added Icicle Zazz! Glitter Glue to the snow and the adorable snowman.

Glitter Glues.

This holiday card is for the girl’s LMC (Library Media Center) teacher.  I started again with the A2 White card (which measures 4″ x 5.5″).  I cut the Home for Christmas paper to 3 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ and placed it down first.  I cut the Christmas Carol paper to 3 5/8″ x 5 1/8″ and added it next.  I machine stitched around the card.  Then, I cut out the “Dear Santa,” journal card from the Merry and Bright paper, added a notebook edge to it using a paper punch, and I had Caitie write a little letter to Santa using a green colored pencil.  I layered that with the “Naughty/Nice” journal card from the same paper and added them both to the card.  I added foam dots to the sweet elf sticker and attached a tiny silver jingle bell to his hat.  Yes, the tiny bell really does jingle.  🙂  I thought it would be a fun and cute finishing touch for this holiday card.

Here’s a holiday card for Payton’s reading teacher with a step-by-step tutorial.  I started by adding some peppermint candy buttons (punched from the Gingerbread paper) and glitter candy dots to the gingerbread woman and man stickers.

I wanted to add some smoke (cotton candy) coming out of the Gingerbread House sticker.  So, I used a pink color mist (this teacher’s favorite color is pink) on the piece of cotton.

I cut the Christmas Cheer paper to 3.75″ x 5.25″ and placed it on the A2 White card (which measures 4″ x 5.5″).  I machine stitched around the card.

Now, the fun part of this card starts.  I cut the Holly Jolly paper to 5.5″ x 5.5″ and scored lines at 2″ and at 2.5″.

I trimmed off the corners where the lines meet and folded my little envelope (which now measures 2.75″ x 3.75″).

I adhered the envelope along with a 3 1/8″ x 4 2/8″ piece of vellum to the card.

I added Icicle Zazz! Glitter Glue to a few cardstocks and let dry so that I could cut out gumdrops.

I used foam dots to add the cute gingerbread house and people as well as the gumdrops.  I used a bit of Mod Podge to adhere the pink cotton candy and candy cane stickers to the card.

I trimmed off a point of the envelope and added a cut square of Velcro (from my local Michaels craft store) to the envelope.

For the finishing touch, I added a die-cut cardstock shape to the envelope.

I love the way this card turned out!  It has a playful design, it’s interactive, and sweet for a sweet teacher.

When she pops it open, there is a pretty “Merry Christmas” message inside!  (Which I cut from the bottom strip of the Holly Jolly paper.)

For the matching the envelopes to these holiday cards. I stamped these wonderful designs to the front and back of all the envelopes.  Love, love, love these North Pole and Merry Christmas Wood Stamps!  Now, there are fun spots on the front of the envelopes for the girls to add their teachers names and Merry Christmas wishes on the back of the envelopes.  These cards are ready for their handwritten personal messages and best holiday wishes.  And, I can check this off my December “To-Do” list.

Merry Making, Everyone!

Dressing Up Die-cuts

Hello there!  It’s Mendi here today with a holiday layout featuring some of my favorite die-cuts from Pebbles Home For Christmas collection.

Christmas Layout by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #HomeForChristmas collection from @PebblesInc. @SnippetsByMendi

There are so many darling images in this collection just begging to be played with and I thought it would be fun to dress each of them up in slightly different ways to add a little extra interest to my page.

For my first block I layered the two snowflake die-cuts popping up the second one with foam tape and adding a jewel to the center.

I then added some Stickles glitter glue to the die-cut for some added sparkle.

For the hot cocoa die-cut, I chose to keep it simple with a quick jewel in the center of the snowflake mug.

For the holly, I decided to add sequins topped with a red bead to the center of each of my berries using some glossy accents.

I love the detail it added without a lot of fuss.

For my square which I cut strategically from the poinsettia patterned paper, I added a small grouping a mini pearls.

For the poinsettia die-cut, I stitched a simple red button to the center.

I somehow feel no button looks quite complete without the addition of some thread…

Hello Pebbles Fans!  Holly here from Ribbons & Glue sharing a Christmas Tree Card made from the cozy Pebbles Inc. Home for Christmas collection and a Silhouette cut file.

Christmas Card made with @pebblesinc Home for Christmas collection by @ribbonsandglue

The card is made from a Flip Swing Card Christmas Tree cut file by Lori Whitlock.  The gingerbread patterned paper found in the Home for Christmas collection inspired me to use Kraft paper as the card base.

I added machine stitching along the sides with red thread and embellished the card with Pebbles Candy dots and Pebbles Inc Home for Christmas Chips.

10 Minute Christmas Cards Using 3×4 Cards

Hello, Becki, here to share with you some Christmas cards that I made in 10 minutes or less.  Yes, you read that right, 10 minutes or less. I love sending out handmade Christmas cards but making them in large quantities can be so time consuming! I decided to use the 12×12 patterned paper that you cut down into either 6×4 journaling cards or 3×4 journaling cards. I also grabbed a handful of patterned papers, some die cuts, stickers, and thickers. I gathered the supplies and created these cards (and cleaned up my mess) in an hour and a half while my kids were are preschool.
created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc  For each card I used a 3×4 journaling card (matted in patterned paper) and embellished with either die cuts or stickers.

created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc Each card took me less than 10 minutes to create. I had my 5-year-old time me. He thought it was hilarious to watch me hurry and finish each card.

created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc This card simply has a 3×4 card embellished with one sticker and I used a white pen to create some faux stitching around the edge of the card.

created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc This card has one sticker (the wreath) and then I added some thickers to create the word “JOY” on top of the wreath.

created by @jbckadams for @Pebblesinc This final card has two stickers on the journaling card (the holly) and faux stitching around the edge with a black pen. I used dimensional adhesive to make room for the twine.

Do you make your own Christmas cards? Consider using  3×4 journaling cards to create them with. It cuts down on the time immensely! Good luck, and have a great time creating!
