Hello Pebbles Fans!  It’s Mendi here and I’m so excited to share a new Halloween layout using Pebbles awesome Thirty-One collection!

Halloween Layout featuring Circle Border created by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #Thirty-One collection from @PebblesInc. @SnippetsByMendi

No layout is ever complete without a catchy title so I mixed a couple different Thicker sets and substituted a creepy spider for my “O”.  I love how it worked out to have it hanging from the word above it!

To balance my layout, I created a little scene with a few of the stickers in the top right corner of my page.  I chose to pop up the cloud and moon sticker with foam tape for some added dimension.

Last, but not least I created a circle border to act as the main decorative element for my layout.  I love borders like this one which allow me to use a variety of patterns within the collection without overwhelming my page, while also serving to ground all the adorable stickers in the collection!

To create my border I combined a variety of punched circles from several of the patterned papers in sizes ranging between 1-1/4″ to 2-1/4″.  If you don’t have circle punches or dies handy, this could also be achieved by tracing with a pencil on the back side and then cutting by hand.

Inspired by the “Happy Halloween” sticker in the collection, I chose to add pinking circle mats under several of my punched circles using a similar die I had on hand.

For several of my sticker embellishments I cut up and added foam tape to the back of the sticker before adhering to my punched circle.

I love how that slight difference in height adds some nice shadows and keeps my sticker from feeling lost on the patterned paper background!

Sweater Weather Layout and Goody Bags

Happy fall y’all! Cliché, I know. But when you live in the South, it’s just what makes sense!

SweaterWeather-01

Suzanna back again, this time as a guest, to share a “Sweater Weather” layout and off the page project with you that I created using the Home+Made collection.

Guest Designer @SuzannaLee72 shares a sweater weather layout and goody bags using the #JHHomeMade collection by @tatertotsandjello and @PebblesInc.

A little more than sweaters in this picture as we’re wearing our winter coats but you get the idea! Fall in England can be brutal with a biting wind that accompanies it. The banner stickers that accompanied this collection were a perfect complement to hand cut banners that span the edge of the layout.

Fussy cut flowers from one of the patterned papers in the bright yellow with the butterfly cut using the die from the accompanying die set create the visual triangle of three that lead your eye around the page, keeping the focus on the picture. Interestingly, and unplanned, the line of black elements also draws your eye from the top, right hand corner of the page down to the bottom, left hand corner.

I couldn’t resist the goody bags that are also a part of this collection! The gold polka dots add a subtle hint of “wow” to me, taking the brown paper sack up a notch! Add a swag of colored goodness and you have great Fall (or Autumn) gift giving décor!

These were dead easy to put together using the die set, a strip of patterned paper, a tag and some more fussy cut flowers.

Halloween Layout

Good morning, Becki, here to share a layout with you using the Thirty-One collection. I really wanted to put the photo overlays in this collection to good use. I also grabbed a few sheets of patterned papers, thickers, stickers, and a few pieces from the triangle banner kit.

Becki Adams_Little Pirate_3Once I had my supplies and photos together I got started with the overlays. Because the photos I had didn’t match the sizes of photo overlays I used them a couple of different ways. I adhered my photos to the top one of the 4×6 overlays, then I adhered it to the background of the layout. Next to the photos I wrote my journaling on the background paper and carefully adhered a 4×4 photo overlay over my jouraling on the background paper.

Halloween layout created by @jbckadams for @pebblesincAbove the photo and journaling I added a title and a Halloween vignette using a few of the banner pieces and stickers.

Moving forward I will be thinking of ways to use my photo overlays in more creative ways, no solely for dressing up my photos.

Create a Scene with Stickers

I love creating a scene. Not the kind that leaves the public squirming in discomfort, but the kind that is perfectly placed on a greeting card. Amanda here today with a few fun ways to create scenes with stickers on Halloween cards.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionUsing a single package of cardstock stickers from the Thirty-One collection, I created a trio of Halloween cards, each with it’s own spooky scene.  I had so much fun mixing and matching stickers, I kept making cards until I ran out of stickers!  To see some bonus cards made with stickers from the Thirty-One collection, head on over to my blog.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionThis happy jack-o-lantern card was created with patterned paper and a few stickers. The star paper sets the scene at night and the striped paper creates Boo Street. I popped up a couple of pumpkins with foam to add dimension to the scene. I stitched a border around the card to add a bit of texture.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionThe skull paper from the Thirty-One collection is my favorite. It is a little bit creepy and a little bit fun all at the same time. I paired the ghoulish skulls with the silvery ghost stickers and created a custom sentiment to complete this simple scene. I used a tear strip to created the striped border and stitched around the card to add some texture and color to the card.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionI popped up the custom sentiment with foam to add dimension to the card. Head over to my blog to see additional ways to use this custom sentiment and download it for FREE.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionThis next scene has lots of details and layers.  I adhered chevron paper to the card base and added a herringbone hill to create the background. I stitched the papers to the card, adding stitching detail to the top of the card. I layered all kinds of scary stickers to the card to create a spooky night scene.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionI added depth to the scene to adhering the tree with foam. The clouds are adhered directly to the card making them appear as though they are floating behind the tree. I also popped up the little bat with a foam square.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionOne of my favorite tricks when working with lots of stickers is making them unsticky by coating the back with a thin layer of cornstarch. With a dry paint brush, I apply a thin layer of cornstarch to the back of the sticker and gently brush off the excess cornstarch into a garbage can. Unsticky stickers are easy to reposition, which is important when creating a scene on a card. After I have determined the final placement of a sticker, I adhere the stickers to my project with a tape runner or other adhesive.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionAfter I had applied corn starch to all of my stickers, I experimented with background paper. I arranged a bunch of non-sticky stickers on a piece of patterned paper until I had a scene that I was happy with.

Halloween Scene Cards by @popperandmimi using @PebblesInc Thirty-One collectionWhile the orange chevron paper was fun, I wanted my scene to have a spooky nighttime feel, so I placed the stickers on a black background to see what they looked like. Because the stickers were no longer sticky, it was super easy to move them to a different paper and try moving some of the stickers to a different position.
