With the new line Birthday Wishes out, it’s no surprise that many of our designers are featuring birthday rub-ons this week. We’re excited to share a birthday scrapbook layout created by designer Kim Jeffress today. What a fun page!

Rub Ons

I have been hanging onto these photos of my son’s 7th birthday for the perfect papers and when the new Birthday Wishes collection arrived on my doorstep I couldn’t wait to start scrapping.

I used the rubons as a layer under my photos. I cut apart each” happy birthday” expression and listed them down the right hand side of the page in a random fashion. I then laid my photos over and completed my page.

As a finishing touch I used some water color paint to splatter some color around my layout.

Have you seen all of the adorable rub-ons we’ve been releasing with our recent collections? They’ve been a massive hit, but not everyone knows how to use them…This week we’re going to share all of the fun ways our design team is using rub-ons in their projects.

Up today, Designer Kathy Martin is sharing a fun “Eat Cake” birthday card. Check it out!

Rub Ons

Life is better with frosting…especially on your birthday with sprinkles on top!

The new Birthday Wishes collection has everything you need to whip up some yummy cards, invitations and party décor for your next birthday celebration.

This cupcake birthday card was a snap to create using the Cardmaking Pad with pre-folded A2 size card bases and the huge variety of Die Cut Cardstock Shapes to choose from. And my new favorite technique…applying rub ons to vellum.

Looking for a fun last-minute gift to give to your child’s teacher before the last day of school? Be sure to check out this teacher clipboard created by Designer Amanda Coleman.

Teacher Appreciation

Teacher Appreciation is a fun time of year for our family as it gives us a chance to give an extra special Thank You to the teachers that do so much for our kids.  This year I put together some pretty clipboards for my kids to give to their teachers.

Altering a clipboard is an easy project to tackle.  Apply a thin coat of liquid adhesive to your clipboard (I used Mod Podge) and adhere the paper.  Be sure to cut out a notch for the clip before adhering the paper.   Flip the clipboard over and trim any excess paper with a craft knife.

Use glittered foam Thickers to add the teacher’s name to the bottom of the clipboard.  Add some die cut flowers to make a cute bouquet.  If you want your clipboard to have a low profile, swap the foam Thickers with flat alpha stickers or die cut vinyl.

I made the mini notebook by binding together 20 sheets of printer paper with a patterned paper binding and some grommets.  Super easy!

Have you thanked a teacher today?
