Patriotic Sign

Memorial Day ushers in the start of summer, barbecues and red white and blue. The holiday is right around the corner and we’re so excited to start showcasing more of the Americana line. Today Design Team Member Samantha Taylor is sharing a fun patriotic sign made with papers from the line.

PB_Americana

Every year I eagerly wait for Pebbles American themed collection to come out. It is always my favorite, and this year is no exception. I love Americana, and couldn’t wait to make a patriotic piece of home decor.

This project is so simple, but is a great focal point for 4th of July decorating. It’s a simple as cutting out a patriotic saying, and gluing it to a wood background. Each line is cut in a different font to give it a bit of a subway art feel, but to keep it cohesive I repeated the patterned papers for the top and bottom lines. Finally, I added a few pinwheels and candy dots to give the whole thing a bit more dimension.

In case you want to try this with some alternate patriotic sayings, you could also try:
“Land of the free, home of the brave”
“My country ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty”
“God bless America, my home sweet home”

Whatever saying you choose, cutting them in Americana is sure to give it that extra bit of patriotic flair!

Handmade Graduation Cards

It’s that time of year…Students all over the country are looking to don a cap and gown and walking down the isle to grab their diploma. Designer Renee Zwirek is here to share a fun set of handmade graduation cards!

PB_Americana

Graduation time is coming up soon for many people!  I have a nephew graduating high school.  So proud of him and very excited to celebrate!  So, I made a trio of 5 x 7 cards using the Americana collection.

There is nothing like using a Fourth of July collection for those kids either gaining their independence for summer break or for those who will be entering a new chapter of their lives after high school or college.  No matter what the situation is, it’s such a joyful time to celebrate your Graduate!

Handmade graduation cards created by @reneezwirek for @PebblesInc using the #Americana collection #handmade #cards #graduation

For this first card, I kept it quick and easy.  I used a beautiful background with scallops along a center strip of pattern paper.  And, I made the focal point a Dimensional Glitter Star to congratulate the shining graduate.  I love that “congrats” rub on underneath the star!

For this next card, I layered a couple of pattern papers.  I added some machine-stitched stars, a “Class of 2014” tag, and a fun Cardstock Shape.  I especially love that tag I made using the awesome Date Stamp to say “Class of” and combining that with the sparkly “2014” Cherish Thickers!

For this last card, I made a pocket on an angle using different strips of pattern papers.  A perfect thing for you to add a gift card or (even better) a Ben Franklin to say Congrats and Best Wishes to the special graduate!

We love seeing products used in a unique and unexpected way. Join Nina Yang as she shares a fun set of handmade hello cards using our very patriotic Americana collection.

PB_Americana

Hello everyone! Nina here again! We are featuring Americana this week on Pebbles Blog and today I would like to share the possibilities of this happy collection beyond a Fourth of July styled project.

I made two quick and simple Hello cards for today! The best thing about them is that I used only one piece of paper for two different looks!

Handmade hello cards created using @PebblesInc #Americana collection by @ninacrafting #handmade #cards #summer

The paper I used is called: Bright Stars, which has tiny stars on one side. How perfect are they for a summery hello card?

I trimmed my 12×12 paper to 4-1/4” x 11” and fold in half lengthwise to create the cardbase. I used the small piece that was trimmed off to create a band and adhered the pinwheel embellishment on top.

I love the B side of this paper. The colorful stripes make me happy! I paired it with the beautiful flower stickers, cut the sentiment “Beautiful” out from another paper in Americana collection called: Home of the Brave to make my card.

And here are the supplies I used. All from our Americana collection:
