We’ve had such a fun week sharing all sorts of scrappy projects with you. Our final project this week is a fun handmade card designed by Nina Yang. This card makes use of the selvage in such a unique way!
Hello everyone! Nina here to share a quick and easy way to use up your scraps!
Today, we are talking about a very specific type of scraps – the stripes of paper trimmed off our 12×12 paper, where we find the paper name and other information.
The ones from Pebbles always have cute patterns on the back!
And we are going to use one of the most versatile tools on earth: decorative scissors! Many of us probably have a ton of these, right? The thing I like the most about them is that they are just a couple dollars each and can be found in many of our local stores. There are also a variety of designs to choose from. Scallops are my favorites.
I used the dashed line on the paper as a guide to cut a scalloped border for the sentiment stripe.
Then I diecut a heart from my card base and layered the stripes.
I left the rest of the window open for more visual interest.
I’ve made another card with the scraps you wont want to miss. Be sure to come check it out!
