We love the unique take each member of our design team displays when working with our products. Today, Designer Laurel Seabrook and Designer Becky Williams are showcasing some beautiful handmade Valentine’s Day cards.

Handmade Valentine's Day Cards

“I love layering bits and pieces of items that all go together and carry out the theme.  The chipboard shapes and envelope were perfect with the ‘love note’ phrase card and then the Silhouette die cut and clear stickers just finished it all off.” Laurel Seabrook.

We love simple, but beautiful around here and we’re pleased to have Designer Laura Craigie sharing her simple handmade Valentine’s Day cards today.

Handmade Valentine's Day Cards

When I think of Valentines cards the first things that come to my mind are hearts, scallops, and glitter.  I tried to incorporate these things into my cards, and using the wonderful Your Truly collection made it so easy!

One of my favourite things for making a quick card is using the Pebbles Phrase Cards.  Of course they are great for pocket scrapbooking and pages, but I just love them on cards.

They take care of the sentiment and then all you need is a few little embellishments and your card is complete.

Handmade Valentine's Day Cards

We love the clean, fresh designs created by team member Marjan Pel. Stick around to check out her beautiful patchwork Valentine’s Day cards.

I just love Valentine`s Day, its getting quite popular over here in Europe lately. You can buy beautiful flowers and cards in the shops, but I prefer making my own
cards for my beloved family and friends.
Valentinecards8

I made some cute small Valentine`s Day cards and embellished these with the cutest cardstock diecuts and stickers from the “Yours Truly” collection. I just love the birdies, the different shaped hearts and the flowers.

For the patchwork styled background I used lots of scraps and washi tape in two different colors and patterns. You can see a step-by-step tutorial over here.

To add more dimension to the cards I used some sewing thread behind the stickers.

Handmade Valentine’s Day Cards

We’re having such fun sharing handmade Valentine’s Day cards with you this week. Today Designer Renee Zwirek is sharing a collection of handmade Valentines created with the Yours Truly line that you don’t want to miss!

Handmade Valentine's Day Cards

With Valentine’s Day approaching in a few weeks, I wanted to make Valentine cards for my kids’ teachers.  Yours Truly is such a sweet Valentine’s Day collection.

Handmade Valentine's Day Card

One of my favorite parts to this collection is the Cardmaking Pad.  It’s perfect for creating quick cards with their combination of heart-filled sentiments and pretty designs.  I used all six designs as a base altering just a few of them especially for the teachers I had in mind.

First up, this “Hello” card is for their school Librarian.  I love the dictionary book text in the pattern paper that’s already perfectly misted with a pink color…it’s perfect.  All I added to the “Hello” speech bubble is a machine-stitched heart sticker and some silver sequins.

This “Happy Valentine’s Day” card is for their Art teacher.  I used the “You are Truly Wonderful” card design as my base.  To alter it, I added half inch strips of the pattern papers to a 4” x 5.25” piece of white cardstock and placed that on top of the card.  I added the Diamond Zazz! Glitter Glue to the polka dots of the heart chipboard piece, added a foam dot, and placed it in the center of the card.

Payton picked out this “i really love you bunches and bunches” card for her Classroom teacher. I added some machine stitching to the sentiment. I popped up the flowers and added a “bumble bee” sticker to them with some foam dots.

This “FEB 14” card is for their Music teacher. I used the “with Love” card design as my base.  To alter it, I cut out the heart with just a pair of scissors and added the chalkboard pattern paper behind it. I machine-stitched around the heart and added the “FEB 14” Watermark Rub-On to the center of it. I added a “rose flower” Dimensional Sticker next to the heart and finished it off with some black ink splatters.

This “You Stole My Heart” card is for their P.E. teacher. The girls love this card because she (their gym teacher) is fun and keeps their hearts healthy. I cannot argue with that reasoning. I added hearts with foam dots, the arrow fringe was machine-stitched and lifted, and both of these were sparkled with the Diamond Zazz! Glitter Glue.

Last (but not least), Caitie picked out this “i really LOVE you a lot” card for her Classroom teacher. I used the “You are Loved” card design as my base. To alter it, I added the “i really LOVE you a lot” phrase card right on top. I added the “Love” letter stickers to it with foam dots. I really love the way the silver foil just stands out on this card.
