Real Men Wear Pink Scrapbook Layout (From Me to You)

Have you had fun celebrating the From Me to You line with us this week? We’ve so enjoyed sharing all of the projects.

I was so excited to get to work with the From Me to You collection, and when I saw the Ring Ring paper I knew exactly what moment I wanted to document!  

I started by gathering my papers that were influenced by my photo choice – the Ring Ring paper because of the phone, the Hello paper for the words, and the Thanks paper for the color – I knew this was the basis of my layout and then I grabbed a few other things that I thought might go well also. 


I began by arranging my photo and a few pieces I knew I wanted to add in, then came the job of fussy cutting the phone dials and arranging them on the paper.

Once I had my basic layout created I looked for other papers that would give a splash of color to my layout. I think the little envelopes are so cute and it was the perfect size to contain one of the sayings from the Notes paper that fit so well, “I thought of you and smiled” which is just what I do when I see this picture of my boy!

After I had created my layout I began to look for ways to tie my phone dials all together so nothing was floating, this is where the twine came in to imitate the look of the phone cord.

A few stickers and chips completed the look.  I knew I wanted to use the title Real Men Wear Pink, but those pink Thickers were so girlish!  So I grabbed my fun roller stamp and dialed in the word hello to match my theme and stamped my letters giving them a little bit of boyishness!

Handmade Birthday Card {From Me to You}

How are you enjoying our From Me to You collection showcase so far? We’ve loved showcasing the product in so many different capacities. Up today? Design Team Member Kim Jeffress with a fun handmade birthday card. 

Handmade Birthday Card {From Me to You} 

My son’s best friend Kate recently turned six, so I wanted to make a birthday card that was pretty but also quick.

The colors in the “From Me to You” collection were just perfect – girly and sweet! 

I started with a sheet of pattern paper from the cardmaking pad. The papers are pre scored and all I did was fold it in half to create the card base.  


In the little pocket on the front my son who is also 6 wrote a sweet little note to her that she can keep in a special place long after the card has been discarded! 

World Travel Map Tutorial

One of the things most fun about working with a design team is seeing the many ways they utilize similar product. For Design Team Member Samantha Taylor‘s From Me to You share, she created an amazing world travel map tutorial.

What a fun project!  

Word Travel Map 

I thought it would be fun to make a world map to keep track of my travels. From Me to You was not only the perfectly named collection for a world map, but the patterns and gorgeous colors are versatile and timeless enough that I can put a map together that will be beautiful for recording my travels for years and years to come. 

Tutorial

Cover the back of a large frame with fabric and place inside the frame. My frame measures 16″ x 20″. I chose to cover it with burlap, but any fabric would work.  

Chose your papers. You’ll need 7 different patterns from From Me to You for the
continents and 1 for the banner. 

Cut your papers in the shape of the world continents. I used a Silhouette Die Cutting Machine (you can find a step-by-step of how I sized and cut the world map using the Silhouette here), but a Cricut would work as well.  

You can also find a map online, print it out and use it as a template for tracing and hand cutting the world map.  

I cut some pieces to include part of their neighboring continent to make lining up and attaching your pieces easier.


For example, I cut Asia (as seen above) to include about a 1/2″ strip of Europe. I added adhesive to that 1/2″ strip, lined it up and attached it directly under the full piece of Europe.  

Attach your continents to frame.  

Cut a banner by hand or with a die cutting machine.  

Use alphabet stickers to spell out “ADVENTURE”. 


Use the From Me to You Roller Stamp to stamp “Awaits.” 

Attach to the frame. 

Cut small hearts and stars from coordinating card stock. Use these to mark locations where you have traveled, or places you would like to travel.

Design Team Member Becky Williams is kicking off From Me to You week with a fun scrapbook layout she’s entitled “Sweet Life.”

For this layout I really wanted to show off the variety in the “From Me To You” collection so I created my background by cutting strips of patterned paper of various widths and layered them directly on my cardstock.

I topped the page with a few stickers and chipboard to add more dimension to the page.
