How To Tuesday

“My daughter’s bedroom is pink and decorated with ladybugs and butterflies, and even though she’s too young to tell time, I thought she needed a cute clock.  I found a plain white clock at Wal-Mart for around $3.00 and embellished it with the Love You More line, Thickers, and a butterfly die cut from the Pebbles Silhouette Online Store.”  – Tiffany Hood, Pebbles Design Team Member

Remove the battery and then remove the screws from the back to get the glass off.

Measure the inside diameter of the clock’s face to determine the size to cut your circle.  I used my silhouette to cut a 6 1/2 inch circle.

Then, find the center and cut a small hole, just big enough to go around the clock hands.

If the hands are removable, you can remove them and slip the paper on and then replace them.  I didn’t want to take the hands off so I just used a paper cutter to cut a slit for the hands.

I found that if I slid one end of the cut piece under the first hand, I could turn the paper and feed it under the other two hands as I turned.

When the patterned paper is on the clock face, lift the edges and put adhesive under it.  I just used scrapbook adhesive.

I found this butterfly cut in the Silhouette online store in the Pebbles section.  I made it narrower using the design software and then cut 12.

Adhere the butterflies around the clock face.

Thickers packs don’t come with enough #1’s for a clock, so instead of using the 1’s, I used the “L’s” and the “I’s”.  You need 5 1’s, and they look like 1’s, so it worked great.

Then just replace the glass and the screws and the battery.  Don’t tighten the screws too tight or the glass will break.

Mix & Match Monday

It’s Monday again which means we’ll be mixing and matching some Pebbles products to show you just how well our collections can be used with one another.

“I saw a color inspiration prompt on a website – I loved this idea and decided to do my own page.  I don’t know how is the weather where you are, but here it’s cold and often raining.  Normally, spring should be here by now, so I decided to do a light and airy layout with yellow as my main color. Maybe it will bring the sun! I hope…”  – Amelie Mordret, Pebbles Design Team Member

“I love how easily Pebbles products coordinate across collections! I combined products from five different collections for this springtime set of cards. The Basics Cardmaking pads are so versatile, as the variety of colors and patterns mix and match well with all Pebbles collections. Here, I used two different colored tone-on-tone mini polka dot card bases and customized the look by rounding the corners of the cards and the patterned paper elements I layered on top of the card bases.”  – Vivian Masket, Pebbles Design Team Member

“I used a mix of the Pebbles current collections to make this layout. The colors are so cheerful and mix so well together! the lines are perfect for all your summer photos. I cut my design with the silhouette and then covered some of the spots with patterned paper and some embellishments. I also did some stitching around my die cut.” – Eva Pizarro, Pebbles Design Team Member

“I finally joined the rest of America last month and purchased my first smart phone (I know, crazy, right?). The first app I downloaded? Yep, Instagram. And, I must admit, having a decent camera on my phone lends itself to taking a lot more photos on the fly. I love it. This layout was created with a variety of our new lines; I had a ball mixing and matching. It was also fun adding the little paper garland across my photos, just perfect!” – Kim Kesti, Pebbles Design Team Member

For today’s edition of “Sketchy Thursday” we asked some of our design team members to create a project based on this exclusive sketch by Becky Fleck.

“Love, love, love these colorful papers and accents from Amy Locurto! They’re perfect for these photos of my son and his grandpa playing checkers during his visit last month. The two of them played every day and Christopher jumped around like a super hero when he won!”  – Kathy Martin, Pebbles Design Team Member

“The layout I made today came together really quickly for a few reasons.  First is because I used lots of pictures which straight away takes up more space and leaves less area to “design”.  Then I just gathered my scrap strips of paper and put them to use here not even measuring just adhering them down and trimming off any excess. ” – Laura Craigie, Pebbles Design Team Member

“Today, I’d like to share a bunch of ‘Thank You’ cards I made for some family members. With the passing of Payton’s Birthday and Easter, both girls received more gifts and had a lot of ‘Thank You’ cards to write. I kept the designs very simple in order to make them all within thirty minutes. Some cards were made faster than others. I loved using the Basics Cardmaking Pads for the base of my cards, because that definitely helped speed up the process. In the end, I have a bunch of fun and cute cards that I know our family loved and appreciated. Of course, the best part was that the girls wrote their own special ‘Thank You’ messages inside for them.” – Renee Zwirek, Pebbles Design Team Member
