How To Tuesday

“Hi Pebbles friends!  Today I have created a little step-by-step photo process showing you how to make a set of three cards with coordinating envelopes in less than 15 minutes using products from Pebbles Basics collection.”  – Wendy Sue Anderson, Pebbles Design Team Member

First, gather your supplies – here’s what I used:

Pebbles makes these great cardmaking pads – have you seen them?  There are 36 pre-cut, pre-scored cards in this pad!  Simply tear out the cards on the perforations – I chose these three:

Since the cards are pre-scored, there’s no guessing where to fold the cards.  Perfect – every time!

Now check out these great accent & phrase sticker sheets – there are 22 sentiments in each color for a total of 44 sentiments on each sheet – whatever theme you’re needing a card for, you’ll find a fitting sentiment on these sheets.

I chose the “happy birthday” banners for my cards.

Next, it’s time to add a little embellishment to each card.

I added coordinating flowers to two of my cards and a matching clothespin to the third.

And that’s it for the cards – yes, they are simple, but they are very cute!

Now let’s work on the envelopes.  I used three standard white envelopes … nothing fancy.  I wanted to mark a special spot to write the recipient’s name on the front of the envelope.  I used two strips of washi tape on the edge – this makes a perfect spot to write the name and it mimics the design of the card too.

I wanted to make the envelopes even more special and fun, so I decided to make liners for the inside – they are easier than you might think!  Simply open the envelope flap and place it over the patterned paper (be sure the paper will go below the opening after it’s inserted into the envelope, but there’s no need for it to go all the way to the bottom unless you want it to).  Trace lightly.

Cut out the shape you traced.

Tuck the piece into the envelope, score it along the envelope fold, and adhere to the inside of the envelope.

Repeat this process for all three envelopes.  That’s it – you are finished!  Three handmade cards with coordinating envelopes in less than 15 minutes! Since you already have all of the supplies out, you might as well make even more to add to your stash.  Creating these quick and easy card sets makes it easy to have a handmade card ready to share with your friends and family.  Creating several all at the same time will not only save you time, but just think of all the money you’ll save when you don’t have to rush out and buy a card at the last minute!

It’s Monday again which means we’ll be mixing and matching some Pebbles products to show you just how well our collections can be used with one another.

“I wanted a bright, fun layout to feature this sweet photo of my daughter on her fourth birthday.  I love how well all the prints and colors of the various Pebbles lines go together!  I picked several different polka dotted papers, and then I used the cute floral elements of the Amy Locurto Rainbow line to pull all the colors together!”  – Emily Spahn, pebbles Design Team Member

“I love these underwater photos of my son even if they are not the best quality.  I wanted to bring some more color to the layout other than what was in the photos so mixing and matching Pebbles products was the perfect solution.  I used some die cuts to mimic the bubbles.” – Shawna Webster, Pebbles Design Team Member

“For this week’s “My Favorite Things” theme I decided to document the love of parsnips that my daughter and I share. I snapped some photos of my daughter dancing around with parsnips and goofing around, which is not an uncommon occurrence in our household!  I pulled colors from the photos, including both the cream color of the parsnips (the Thickers I used for my title) and the pink and black of my daughter’s shirt (patterned papers and embellishments). I used a die-cutting machine to cut various shaped photo frames from Love You More and Basics patterned paper. From there, this layout came together quickly with the “You Are Awesome” Zach patterned paper from the Love Your More line and a few embellishments, including a punched heart and a star.” – Vivian Masket, Pebbles Design Team Member

“One of my favorite things about having boys is their complete silliness.  Take this photo, for example.  Really, kiddo?  I said “Smile”, and this is what I got!  These kind of moments are a daily occurrence around here!”  – Mandie Pierce, Pebbles Design Team Member

“My eldest has a sweet sweet friendship with his best friend Kate. She is five and a darling little girl. She brings out the best in him always. He adores her as I do too, so I couldn’t go past her as my favorite little girl for this topic.  As for most little girls pink is her favourite color I loved this checked pattern paper from the Basics line as a base for my layout. I wanted to include the library pocket but the word on the front didn’t match the theme of my layout. I layered over a paper fower to hide the word as well it became a perfect accent for my layout.”  – Kim Jeffress, Pebbles Design Team Member

“I love the theme of this week, and when I think of all my favorite things my cell phone is right up there!  I love being able to quickly capture images of our day to day life.  I kept things very simple and other than cardstock only used 2 sheets of patterned paper and stickers.  I knew having so many tiny pictures it could be quite busy so keeping things simple was a good balance for the page.”  – Laura Craigie, Pebbles Design Team Member

“What are my favorite things? In scrapbooking, that’s currently playing with my inks, my gelatoes, and my paints! I love that! In my personal life, that is obviously being with my children! So here is my layout that combines both of my “favorite things”! I colored my basic papers (under the picture and the little circles) with an aqua brush and my gelatoes. On my background I used some ink spray and some ink stains. And I used a beautiful picture of my youngest!”  – Amelie Mordret, Pebbles Design Team Member
