Sketchy Thursday

For today’s edition of “Sketchy Thursday” we asked some of our design team members to create a project based on this exclusive sketch by Becky Fleck.

“Becky’s sketches are such a pleasure to work with. I enjoyed adding the random bits and pieces that support these cute photos of Eloise. For the confetti look, I punched small circles and added little black dots with my journaling pen to make them stand out a bit more. Fun!” – Kim Kesti, Pebbles Design Team Member

“This little girl LOVES her baby doll, Annie. Payton got her as a gift from Santa back in 2008. They have made so many wonderful memories together over the years. I just had to capture it here with a few of my favorite pics. It’s a very strong love and Annie will always be a happy place for Payton. The Rainbow line from the Party With Amy Locurto collection is so bright and cheerful! I thought it was perfect for my special St. Patrick’s Day Baby, because Baby Annie is her pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.” – Renee Zwirek, Pebbles Design Team Member

Good morning everyone!  Today we are featuring cards from some of our design team members using their favorite Pebbles products.

“I love to make cards but I don’t like to cut a 12×12 piece of paper, the Cardmaker Pads are the perfect size and they have so many beautiful colors and patterns! I just added strips from the Basics collection to make these colorful and simple cards.”  – Eva Pizarro, Pebbles Design Team Member

“My son’s little friend is turning 5  next week so I decided to make her a birthday card using the new Party with Amy Locurto line.  She is into mermaids so I thought the mermaid papers would be perfect. I also wanted to incorporate the printed glassine bags. I attached the bag to my folded cardstock and then layered over  some pices of pattern paper cut to size. I added a banner from the basics banner kit using a long wooden skewer and taping it inside the bag. I wanted there to be a hidden surprise inside so I took pieces from the different colored banner kits to make a little booklet. I threaded through some of the twine and and added my title with thickers and the Basics sentiment cardtsock stickers.   I decided to make a boy version as well. This time I used the Super Hero collection. My skewer holds a sticker from the Accents & Phrases Sticker sheet. For my hidden surprise I cut pieces from the Incredible pattern paper to create some trading cards!”  – Kim Jeffress, Pebbles Design Team Member

How To Tuesday

“For today’s How to Tuesday, I’m going to show you how to make a 3 x 4 inch mini book using just a single sheet of 12 x 12 paper. The paper is folded in such a way that one pattern will end up as your cover and the other pattern will be the background for your pages. So you’ll want to choose a paper with that in mind.”  – Donna Jannuzzi, Pebbles Design Team Member

To start, begin by scoring your paper every 3 inches in one direction. Then turn your paper one-quarter turn and score the paper every 4 inches. This is easy to do if you have a scoring board, but you can achieve the same result using a ruler and a bone folder.

After you’ve scored your paper we’re going to cut it into thirds, but not all the way through! Place the paper in your paper trimmer so that it cuts 4 inches down:

(Be sure that this cut line is in line with one of the scored edges) and trim until you get to the 9 inch mark.

Then slide your paper down another 4 inches:

and this time, starting from the opposite direction, trim your paper until you get to the 3 inch mark.

Then all you have to do is start folding your paper along the score lines,

and when you get to the end of one row fold the paper back onto itself.

Continue folding, and once again when you get to the next end, fold the paper back onto itself again.

This is what the paper will look like with all the folds completed:

The last step is to use adhesive to glue the pages together. You can leave some of the edges open at the top and place tags for hidden journaling or other items like photos or ephemera in these pockets.

Also, I left my binding plain, but you could always embellish it with twine, washi tape, or patterned paper. Here are a few pages from my completed mini:

I had so much fun making this little book and using the Family Ties collection. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

Happy Monday everyone! We have released our mid-release collection, Lakeside, and we wanted to share it with you. Let’s get started!

Spend a day at the lake and sing around the campfire at night with Lakeside, a new collection from Pebbles. Icons of canoes, wildflowers and camping gear in forest green, salmon pink and brilliant blue are grounded by organic brown and chalkboard black. Complimented by gingham, polka dots, woodgrain and florals, Lakeside is ideal for remembering sweet, summer days spent outdoors.

This collection includes 12 double-sided patterned papers, bright phrase & icon stickers, chalkboard Thickers and coordinating journaling cards. This collection introduces two new items: a patterned clipboard and a sheet of themed postcards.

We hope you love the collection!
