“Recently my son and his best friend were at playgroup and they decided to dress up as Super Heroes. I grabbed my iphone and snapped these fun photos. How lucky I was to receive these pattern papers soon after, I couldn’t wait to play! I started with a base of  the Hero pattern paper then created a block design with my photos. I included a bit of hand stitching at the top of my layout to simulate the Super Man flying.” – Kim Jeffress, Pebbles Design Team Member

“Today I am mixing a little old with the new collection.  As you can see the dimensional butterflies from Sunnyside work perfectly with the new collections as well. The dimensional flowers would also make a nice substitution.  This is a grea way to use up older supplies but still keep your pages new and fresh.  The new twine and washi tapes are also perfect trendy additions.”  – Shawna Webster, Pebbles Design Team Member

Sketchy Thursday

For today’s edition of “Sketchy Thursday” we asked some of our design team members to create a project based on this exclusive sketch by Becky Fleck.

“For this layout, I choose a picture of my eldest. I am in love with this picture although this photo is a little fuzzy! Love the sweetness of this picture! So I decided to bring it out with several papers and a mix of collections. I must say that this sketch is so inspiring. It’s a real pleasure to work with Becky Fleck’s sketches! I love this layout “ – Amelie Mordret, Pebbles Design Team Member

“I tend to stick pretty closely when it comes to sketches.  This one was no different.  I switched it up a little with the journaling and photos.  I just used one photo (that was larger than the sketch.  It is 3.25×4.25) and I used a journaling block in place of the second photo.” – Mandie Pierce, Pebbles Design Team Member

“The project I prepared for today is really easy, you can probably make all 4 treat bags in 30 minutes! Just cut two bunny ears from the Glassine Bags, fill with candies, tie and decorate the bag with some scraps of paper. The bunnies are ready!”  – Eva Pizarro, Pebbles Design Team Member

“This was a super quick and easy layout to make! I think the step that took the longest was creating and cutting the circle background with my die cutting machine!  I had originally planned on completely filling the circles with the different patterned papers, but after I played with them a bit, I decided I liked seeing the red pop out on a few of them. This is a great way to use up scraps and include  a lot of fun colors and patterns in an otherwise very simple layout!” – Emily Spahn, Pebbles Design Team Member

How To Tuesday

“Hi! Kathy Martin here with a step-by-step tutorial of how I typically ‘build’ a card. For this project I used the new Pebbles Party collection from artist Amy Locurto, a couple Spellbinders dies, and lots of foam mounting tape for dimension.”  – Kathy Martin, Pebbles Design Team Member

This card is easy, easy, easy! To start I chose a Basics card that’s already sized and scored for you.

Next I picked a colorful dot print paper to represent bubbles under the sea and created a big pennant with a circle die cut in the center.

To create a frame around my pennant circle, I used a couple Spellbinders dies. Once cut I attached it to the card with foam mounting tape.

For the next step, I added a ‘life is the bubbles’ dimensional sticker to the lower right-hand portion of my scalloped frame.

To dress up the dimensional phrase sticker a little more, I added the little ‘hi’ sticker using foam mounting tape.

Now I add a couple adorable fish stickers. Again, I use foam mounting tape. 🙂

I love lots of goodies on my card so I keep going, looking for something else to add that would create more interest. For this next step I add a pennant phrase sticker at the upper left-hand side of the card using foam mounting tape and a mini paper clip.

For my final accent, I created a little twine bow to add to the ‘hi’ sign and attached it with a dab of craft glue.

Here you have it! Pretty easy, huh? I also like couple my card with a matching envelope for the final photo.

Mix & Match Monday

It’s Monday again which means we’ll be mixing and matching some Pebbles products to show you just how well our collections can be used with one another.

“I mixed and matched two great collections – a new one and an old one.  I was in desperate need for a few cards for some important people so the basics cardmaking pad helped me out big time and let me focus on making the card pretty.”  – Patricia Kumfer, Pebbles Design Team Member

“Mixing and matching Pebbles products across collections is easy as can be! My starting point in creating this page were the sweet pink rhinestone flowers from the Basics collection.  Right when I saw them, I was reminded of these pictures of my baby girl in her little track suit with a flower on it, that matched the Basics flowers almost exactly.  From there, I matched up some additional patterned papers from Basics, then turned to my other Pebbles collections to tie in the remainder of the color palette from my photos.  Seen and Noted has so many great aqua colored prints that I knew would work well on this page.  The subtle kraft chevron background is from Walnut Grove, and creates a nice grounding place, with all of the additional bright colors and patterns I have mixed in.” – Jaclyn Rench, Pebbles Design Team Member
