Mix & Match Monday

It’s Monday again which means we’ll be mixing and matching some Pebbles products to show you just how well our collections can be used with one another.

“As soon as I laid eyes on the Take Note ‘speech bubble’ paper from the Seen & Noted collection, I knew it would give me the perfect excuse to document what a chatterbox my oldest son is.  With that neutral paper as my starting point, I had lots of room to mix and match colors and patterns from a variety of different Pebbles collections, to achieve a masculine feel and continue the ‘wordy’ theme of the page I was going for.  The Family Ties Mother text style pattern was a great compliment to my page theme.  I was even able to mix in elements from the unexpected Trick and Treats collection as well as Sunnyside, to throw in a splash of orange to coordinate just perfectly with the photos I chose.”  – Jaclyn Rench, Pebbles Design Team Member

ā€œI’m very happy to be on the blog today to wish you all a Happy New Year.  May every day of the new year glow with good cheer and happiness for you and your family. On this occasion, I wanted to make a layout with a new year theme. So I thought about my 2013 resolutions. I designed my layout around this idea, with a winter look and feel. To do this, I used the Walnut Grove and Seen & Noted collections. Have good times with you and yours!ā€  – Amelie Mordret, Pebbles Design Team Member

Free for All Friday

Happy Friday everyone! We are wrapping up the week with a fabulous “free for all” project from one of our design team members.

“My sons have a cute bunch of little friends that they just adore. One day we were at a friend’s house and the kids were piled into the bed playing, it was just so sweet.  I took the colors from the photos, in particular the banner and the boys shirts as inspiration for my paper and embellie choices. Its not often I get to use pink( having two boys) so I take every chance I get. You may notice my layered clouds, I cut the bottom off the cloud stickers from the Sunnyside Accent & Phrase sticker sheet to better suit my layout!”  – Kim Jeffress, Pebbles Design Team Member

Dear Pebbles

Good morning everyone!  Today we are featuring cards from some of our design team members using their favorite Pebbles products.

“I thought for a nice change that I would make cards using a different shape, rather than a standard card sized card! I cut the bases of the card into a pennant shape and then went to work making three different cards. Using the Family Ties line made it easy to create a pretty hello card, as well as one for a special guy in your life! I love that the line can work for so many different themes! Making a card in a unexpected shape is a fun and unique way to let someone know you are thinking of them!” – Nicole Nowosad, Pebbles Design Team Member

“I know it is the day after Christmas, and so perhaps a bit early for flowers and butterflies, but I adore the Family Ties collection so much and when I received the assignment to make cards for today’s feature I felt compelled to use this happy and sunny line.  I hope you will forgive my constant use of layered butterflies… it is just so much fun to play with different patterns, especially when using the 6×6 paper pads.  Together with the stickers and chipboard shapes in this collection they make designing cards so easy, and fun too!”  – Donna Jannuzzi, Pebbles Design Team Member

How To Tuesday

“With Christmas officially here it is now time to think about New Years Eve. This year I thought I would make some party decorations to give to family and friends. I did a party horn and some confetti. To make the horn you are going to need: a party horn for the supermarket or the dollar store and some papers.”  – Eva Pizarro, Pebbles Design Team Member

First, take the horn apart and trace the form on your patterned paper. Cut it out.

Next, glue the patterned paper creating a cone and assemble the horn.

Cut strips from patterned paper and soak them in water until they can bend easily.

Carefully create a ruffle with your sewing machine. Let it dry 10 minutes.

Attach to your horn with a hot glue gun and put you horn on a table so that the ruffle dries with that shape.

I also did a vellum bag with some big circles to throw during the night as confetti!

It’s Monday again which means we’ll be mixing and matching some Pebbles products to show you just how well our collections can be used with one another.

“When it comes to mixing lines I think Family Ties and Seen & Noted work together wonderfully.  I used one patterned paper from each line, and minimal embellishments on my page so the photo is really the star.  I love how using the Pebbles Quote and Phrase cards can make a page com together so quickly, and for my journaling I cut a box from one of the Journaling cards and saved the saying above it for another project.”  – Laura Craigie, Pebbles Design Team Member

“Mixing the Family Ties and Seen & Noted Collections, I made this fun and simple layout of my girls all dressed up in holiday style. I dressed them up last Christmas in Silver and Gold…I love that song. I thought it fit their personalities really well. Caitie with her heart of gold and Payton’s sparkling personality. I would like to wish you all the blessings of Christmas. May Peace, Joy, and Love fill your hearts in the New Year.” – Renee Zwirek, Pebbles Design Team Member
