Dear Pebbles

Good morning everyone!  Today we are featuring cards created by some of our design team members using their favorite Pebbles products.

Design team member Anna Sigga created two cards using the same basic design – makes creating cards quickly easy and fun!  Here’s what Anna had to say … “I decided to focus on one design for two cards but with a completely different theme for each one. Pebbles sure knows how to create a collection for girls and weddings.”

Pebbles supplies used:
The Mr. & Mrs. Tulle  (751093)
The Mr. & Mrs. Silver Lace (751098)

Ever After Layered Embellishments (747099)

Other supplies used:

Design team member Eva Pizarro created this card using a fun paper ruffling technique.  Here’s what Eva had to say … “Last week I did lots of ruffles for a DIY project I was working on and that inspired me to try and do some ruffles with my paper. To do them simply soak the paper in water for 30-40 seconds and start sewing! Push the paper under the foot on your sewing machine to create the ruffle. Let dry or, I you cannot wait, use your embossing gun! Embellish your card with your favorite Pebbles embellishments!”

Pebbles supplies used:
Floral Lane A Little Hello (751118)
Floral Lane Memory Lane (751119)
Floral Lane Floral Lane (751122)

How To Tuesday

First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week’s “Guest Designer” giveaway. Thank you all so much for your comments. And the lucky winner is …

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information (including your phone number for shipping purposes) to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put “Guest Designer Winner” in the subject line.

Design team member Samantha Sibbet shares a fun technique with us today to create your own chevron or zig zag design.  Here’s what Samantha had to say …”Everywhere I look these days I see fabulous chevron and zig zag patterns from sweet summer dresses to the coziest quilts.  I thought I would give it go with paper and make it into a “How To ” while I was at it!”

First, cut your patterned paper into 3/4″ x 12″ strips.  Cut black cardstock into 1″ x 12″ strips.  Adhere the patterned paper down the middle of the black cardstock.

Before I made the two cuts in my strip as shown in the photo, I marked the strips at 4″ and 4 1/2″ inches.  I made a 45 degree angle cut between the 4″ mark and 4 1/2″ inch mark.  Repeat at the 8″ mark.

After making the two cuts, I removed the center strip piece and made a v.

Before gluing my strips down to my cardstock base, I drew a vertical line with a pencil.  This is where I want my zig zag to meet.  I glued the left side down and made sure it was even with my pencil line, any stragglers were sliced off with a craft knife.

I matched up the other side of strips and erased my pencil line.

I put the edge of my lay out under a guillotine cutter and trimmed off any excess paper strips.

Now, there may be a much simpler way to do this, it was my first time!  If you try this technique, we would love to see what you do!  Thanks for joining me today.

Design team member Zoe Nemburt created this gorgeous layout about her daughter’s love for horseback riding using both the Floral Lane and The Mr. & Mrs. collections.  Here’s what Zoe had to say … “My daughter started riding lessons last year, she absolutely loves it.  This big horse was called Thor and while he was stubborn Yasmin did a great job keeping him going! He was such a gentle giant though, the colours in the picture were intimidating so I loved the chance to mix up the collections.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Floral Lane Your Sweet (751121)
Floral Lane Smile Everyday (751123)
Floral Lane With Delight (751124)
Floral Lane My Darling (751126)

Mr. & Mrs. Brads (747089)
Mr. & Mrs. Pins (747086)

Design team member Suzanne Sergi created this dreamy card using products from several different collections.  Here’s what Suzanne had to say … “The cloud paper inspired this airy card. I wanted a white background, with just a touch of pink to soften the card. The Happy Go Lucky line went perfectly with the pink dot paper from Ever After. I even pulled in some floral embellishments from the Floral Lane collection. The clouds are punched from cardstock, and layered with a cloud punched from vellum. I even mixed in a brad from Pebbles Tree House Collection to complete the  card!”
