Sketchy Thursday

For today’s edition of “Sketchy Thursday” I asked some of our design team members to create a project based on this fabulous sketch by Becky Fleck.

Design team member Lady Grace Belarmino used the Happy Go Lucky collection on this perfectly playful layout.  Here’s what LG had to say … “I love sketches because they make scrapping easier especially for scrapbookers who work full time like me. Here, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees clockwise. I have used the Happy Go Lucky collection since it is perfect for this recent photo of my daughter taken in a toy store.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Happy Go Lucky Splendid (751081)
Happy Go Lucky Cheery Varnish (751080)
Happy Go Lucky Glee Varnish (751082)
Happy Go Lucky Glad Varnish (751087)
Happy Go Lucky Stickers – Embossed (732036)
Happy Go Lucky Buttons (747069)
Happy Go Lucky Chipboard Flowers (747071)
Chalk Cream Brights (742125)
Cat Chalk Stencils (742097)

Other supplies used:
Cardstock

Design team member Suzanne Sergi created this stunning layout of her pretty little princess using lots of Ever After and Floral Lane goodies.  Here’s what Suzanne had to say … “Sometimes, it is so nice to have a sketch in front of you. The design has already been determined, so all I had to do was pull these photos of my sweet little girl.  Next, I selected some of my favorite Pebbles paper, Ever After, and Floral Lane. I do try to stay as close to the sketch as possible. On my page, because white was my background, I decided to pull in another patterned paper. I did layer it across the entire 12×12 cardstock. I do love white space, but needed a colorful background, to anchor my bold embellishments.  I did size my photos a little bigger, so they would balance my page. I did make another change, by moving my journaling to the left of my page.  I love mixing pattern paper, so I loved the border strips on the sketch. Here, I layered a border sticker, patterned paper, and use the back of a barcode strip. A few scattered buttons, and embossing gave my page added texture.”

Other supplies used:

Design team member Wendy Sue Anderson created this fun layout using our new Floral lane collection.  Here’s what Wendy Sue had to say … “After taking a short hiatus from the creative part of my life, I am ready to dig back in and get going again.  I have to say – this assignment was the perfect way to ease back into scrapbooking … I had brand new, super cute product to work with (the new Floral Lane line) AND a great sketch to use as a starting point!  These photos are of my kids at a climbing wall earlier this year.  I thought the “b” sides of these fun papers worked well for a gender-neutral layout … with a few flowers thrown in for good measure!”

First up, I (Lynn Ghahary) created a trio cards using our newest release Floral Lane.  The colors and patterns in this collection are just gorgeous.  And the paper has a linen texture which is just so much fun!

Pebbles supplies used:

Buttons (Basic Grey)
Floss (DMC)

Design team member Sarah Webb used the Mr. & Mrs. collection to create these elegant cards.  Here’s what Sarah had to say … “I haven’t had the chance to play with the Mr. & Mrs. line and with wedding season upon us, I thought it would be a great chance to create some cards for some special occasions. The colours are wonderful and I love the classy look of the pale yellow and grays.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Mr. & Mrs. Tulle (751093)
Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Day (751095)

Design team member Melinda Spinks used our Layered Embellishments in a really fun and fresh way on this adorable set of cards.  Here’s what Melinda had to say … “Cards are something that really stretch me at times because they are small little pieces of artwork that need so much attention to get everything perfect in a limited amount of space. I really wanted to take on the ‘less is more’ approach and create a card with lots of white space that attracted the attention to one focal point being the super cute new Layered Embellishments. I used the white stitching on the white background to create a little scene without detracting from the embellishment, and by adding a hint of chalk it created just a touch of dimension.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Baby Boy Layered Embellishments (747012)
Home Sweet Home Layered Embellishments (747040)
Classic Chalks Pastel Shades (42002)
Classic Chalks Earth Tone Shades (42003)

Other supplies used:
Rub Ons (American Crafts)
Cardstock (American Crafts)

First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week’s “Guest Designer” giveaway. Thank you all so much for your comments. And the lucky winner is …

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information (including your phone number for shipping purposes) as well as your choice of current Pebbles collection to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put “Guest Designer Winner” in the subject line.

Design team member Mimi Leinbach shares a fun technique today for using those adorable Pebbles stamps with acrylic!  Here’s what Mimi had to say … “Pebbles has such awesome pre-made embellishments – that is one of the things that puts them head and shoulders above other companies – but sometimes you just want to get your hands dirty! Here is a simple and fun technique that just may fill that bill!”

First, gather the products you will need.

Next stamp your image on an acrylic inchie – some drying time may be needed.  I also edged each inchie with ink to create a framed look.

Repeat this process on several inchies and embellish with Stickles.  Here are a few examples …

Finally, embellish your layout with the decorated inchies.

This is a super simple technique that really adds a unique and creative flair to your art. A little bit of ink on the edge of each tile added a frame to each piece which flowed well with the grid design of my layout! And if you didn’t notice … the Floral Lane release is textured like cardstock – can I say brilliant?! LOVE IT!!!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today on the Pebbles blog we’ll be mixing and matching some Pebbles products to show you just how well our collections can be used with one another.

Design team member Ria Mojica created this cheerful layout using 3 of our newest collections.  Here’s what Ria had to say … “The 3 new lines Happy Go Lucky, Ever After and Floral Lane are so easy to mix and match because the colors all coordinate with each other. I tried to mimic the slide by arranging the photos in order, from the top of the slide to when she gets to the bottom. I love the colorful paper strip sun made even brighter with the addition of the Boysenberry Candy Dots. Working with these papers will definitely drive the doldrums away!”

This is my first time playing with the new Floral Lane papers – wow! They have such a wonderful texture. I played it up a little bit by mixing in some Happy Go Lucky prints and stickers.
