Good morning everyone!  Today we are featuring cards created by some of our design team members using their favorite Pebbles products.

Design team member Kim Kesti created this adorable tag and gift for her teenage daughter.  Here’s what Kim had to say … “I just love sitting down to create something special for someone else. May is a month full of celebrations. Besides Mother’s Day and two graduations, May brings two birthdays in our family. Our Clara is sixteen and recently had her braces removed, so this jar of gumballs is sure to put a smile on her face. At sixteen, life is definitely GOOD!”

How To Tuesday

First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week’s “Guest Designer” giveaway. Thank you all so much for your comments. And the lucky winner is …

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information (including your phone number for shipping purposes) as well as your choice of Pebbles collection to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put “Guest Designer Winner” in the subject line.

Today’s “How To” post is brought to you by the very talented Melinda Spinks.  Melinda shows us how to create this gorgeous candle decoration.  Here’s what Melinda had to say … “Today I’m going to share a fun way to ‘temporarily’ liven up a candle so that you can always have the colours of the season or the theme of the occasion on display with a decorative trim. I have a plain glass vase that holds a large table candle we use when guests come over and lately I’ve been adding little touches to give it a revamp. However, it’s nice to be able to remove the decorations and change them for something new, especially if the sames guests are visiting.”  And here are Melinda’s step by step instructions …

First gather the supplies you will need –

Pebbles supplies used:
Happy Go Lucky Carefree (751083)
Happy Go Lucky Splendid (751081)
Mr & Mrs Pearl Candy Dot Flourish (747081)

Other supplies used:
Clear Acetate
Burlap (hessian) in two neutral colours
Small flower punch (EK Success)
Circle cutter
Quilling tool
Hot Glue Gun
Adhesive Magnet Strips

Step 1: First you’ll need to dig around in your cupboards for an appropriate size glass container to house your candle and then measure the distance around. Cut a strip of acetate to the desired length and add an extra half an inch for overlap.

Step 2: Place adhesive magnet strips on both ends of the acetate.

Step 3: Wrap the acetate around your container to check the magnets are in the right place and holding firm before you go any further.

Step 4: Cut a strip of Burlap to cover the acetate and allow for extra to overhang both top and bottom. Frey the edges slightly and adhere strip to acetate making sure not to cover the magnets.

Making the flowers –

Step 1: Cut different size circles from your patterned paper.

Step 2: Using a sharp pair of scissors cut your cirles into spiral shapes and leave a circle tab in the center which will become the base of your flower.

Step 3: Roll the edges of your spiral slightly – I use a small screwdriver.

Step 4: Using your quilling tool start rolling the spiral from the outside edge in towards the center. Using a hot glue gun adhere your rolled spiral to the base.

Step 5: Cut a handful of flowers from patterned paper using a small flower punch.

Step 6: Hand cut some small leaves from your burlap and frey the edges slightly.

Assembly –

Step 1: Starting from the centre front of your burlap strip, adhere your flowers and leaves using a hot glue gun.

Step 2: Place a pearl gem into the centre of each small punched flower to finish.

Step 3: Allow a few minutes for your glue to dry and cool before wrapping around your glass candle holder. Put the kettle on, grab a biscuit and a book, light your candle and enjoy!

Mix & Match Monday

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  Time to mix things up a bit on the Pebbles blog as some of our design team members show off their creative skills while mixing and matching products from several Pebbles collections.

Design team member Ria Mojica created this simply adorable layout about her daughter’s meeting with Tinkerbelle.  Here’s what Ria had to say … “It’s obvious just by looking at it that I had a lot of fun playing with this layout. I pulled together the green and orange from Happy Go Lucky and the blue from Ever After with a little pink from both collections. They complemented my photos perfectly. The sunburst design in the background helps to bring out the happy mood of this day.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Happy Go Lucky Cheery (751080)
Happy Go Lucky Carefree (751083)
Happy Go Lucky Happy (751091)
Happy Go Lucky Chipboard Flowers (747071)
Happy Go Lucky Glitter Flower Brads (747076)
Happy Go Lucky Fabric Brads (747077)
Happy Go Lucky Candy Dots Boysenberry (747080)
Ever After Royal Garden (751106)
Ever After Little Princess (751107)
Ever After Sparkle (751113)
Ever After Royal Banner (751115)

Other supplies used:
Thickers (American Crafts)
Ink (Clearsnap)
Punches (EK Success)

Design team member Deena Wuest created this sweet card using both the Ever After and New Addition Girl collections as well as the pearl flourish from The Mr. & Mrs. collection.  Here’s what Deena had to say … “The mix of fairy tale and elegance in the last few collections go so very well together. I loved these pearl candy dot flourishes and thought they would be perfect to decoratively divide two different patterned papers. To do this temporarily position the flourish on your paper, outline it lightly with a pencil then trim with a scissors. Then simply place the flourish so it covers the seam and position an epoxy embellishment front and center. Simple!”

Pebbles supplies used:
Ever After Royal Garden (751106)
New Arrival GirlSweet Moments (751056)
The Mr. & Mrs. Pearl Flourishes (747081)
Ever After Epoxy Embellishments (747095)

Other supplies used:
Cardstock (American Crafts)

There is still time to enter our current giveaway.  Simply leave a comment on this post by midnight EST tonight!  I’ll announce the winner tomorrow morning!  Good luck!

Guest Designer: Sheri Reguly plus a GIVEAWAY!

I am so very excited to share with you a new feature here on the Pebbles blog.  Several times a month we will be asking some very talented scrapbookers to share their time and talent with us here on the Pebbles blog as a Guest Designer.  Our very first Guest Designer comes to us all the way from Canada and is none other than the amazingly talented Sheri Reguly!  Let’s get to know Sheri a little bit better …

Describe yourself in 3 words …  Loving, Dependable, Stubborn.

My guilty pleasure is …chocolate (in any shape or form).

You’ll never find me without …chapstick, lipgloss, or lipstick on. Dry lips drive me absolutely crazy.  I generally have about a dozen Bonne Bell Lip Smackers on the go at once, and keep them conveniently spread across the house.

You might be surprised to know that I …got married when I was only 22. This summer we’ll be celebrating 16 wonderful years!

My least favorite chore is …cleaning the bathrooms.

I started scrapbooking in … 2001, shortly after the birth of my son, Justin.

My favorite thing about this hobby is … the fact that I’m preserving our family’s memories in both photos and words. A close second would be that little bit of “me time” where I get to relax and unwind at the end of the day. 🙂

If I were a Pebbles product I would be …  the entire Happy Go Lucky collection. I just love it’s wonderful combination of colors, as well as it’s playful and lighthearted feel.

Sheri created several wonderful projects for us including this stunning layout.  Here’s what Sheri had to say … “My inspiration for this layout was the embossed sticker that I used for my title. My daughter, Shailyn, has such an amazing little personality, and is a true free spirit at heart. I love her just the way she is, and truly hope that she never changes. I chose my cardstock and patterned papers based on the colors within my photo. The gray cardstock resembles the concrete background, and the pinks, reds, greens, and blues can all be found within her outfit. The flowers, tress, butterfly and clouds all reflect her love for nature and, as well as her genuine love for life. I wanted this page to be as happy as she is.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Happy Go Lucky Glad Varnish (751087)
Happy Go Lucky Delight (751086)
Happy Go Lucky Dandy (751089)
Happy Go Lucky Embossed Stickers (732036)
Happy Go Lucky Chipboard Flowers (747071)
Happy Go Lucky Buttons (747069)

Other supplies used:
Cardstock (American Crafts)

Here’s what Sheri had to say about her next project … “My inspiration for this layout was the epoxy accent that I used for my title. The fairytale wording inspired everything from my color choices, to the words I chose for my journaling, as well as the feminine embellishments that I incorporated into my design. My goal was to create a very girly page, that was fit for a princess.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Happy Go Lucky Dandy (751089)
Happy Go Lucky Glad Varnish (751087)
Happy Go Lucky Border Stickers (732037)
Happy Go Lucky Dimensional Stickers (732038)

Happy Go Lucky Embossed Stickers (732036)
Ever After Flower Brads (747101)
Ever After Epoxy Brads (747095)

Other supplies used:
Cardstock (American Crafts)

Here’s what Sheri had to say about her next project … “It has made me so incredibly happy, that my children have finally found that they have a friend in eachother. I wanted this layout to document that very special relationship. The cloud paper that I chose for the top portion of my page, blends in perfectly with the background of my photo. If you look closely, you can spot the blue sky just behind the trees. The dimensional sticker was perfectly fitting with the theme of my page, therefore making for the ideal title choice. I chose my patterned papers based on the colors within my photo, and incorporated a few simple accents to complete my design.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Happy Go Lucky Cloud Nine (751090)
Happy Go Lucky Delight (751086)

Happy Go Lucky Buttons (747069)
Happy Go Lucky Embossed Stickers (732036)
Happy Go Lucky Dimensional Stickers (732038)

And finally Sheri created this adorably sweet “thank you” card.  Here’s what Sheri had to say … “Whenever I get the chance, I like to create simple cards, just to have on hand. Often, I’ll create a card with the leftovers that are sitting on my desk after designing a layout. All of the colors and patterns from the Happy Go Lucky collection work so wonderfully together, and the decorative border strips make for the perfect simple embellishment. I used one strip to separate my two main patterns, and incorporated another into the flag banner that I used for my sentiment. A simple dimensional flower accent was then added to my card for the perfect finishing touch.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Happy Go Lucky Splendid (751081)
