Mix & Match Monday

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  Time to mix things up a bit on the Pebbles blog as some of our design team members show off their creative skills while mixing and matching products from several Pebbles collections.

First up, design team member Laura Vegas created this fun layout of her daughter Sarah in a fresh color palette including green, red, and black.  Here’s what Laura had to say … “I decided to mix up a little bit of each of the three newest Pebbles collections for this layout about my youngest daughter, Sarah. I love the bright colors in the Happy Go Lucky collection and the Ever After collection. By bringing in some black and white paper from the Mr & Mrs collection, it really lets those bright colors “pop” off the page. And using the silver letter stickers and the paper clips from the Mr & Mrs collection, ties in with the silver in the Happy Go Lucky epoxy brads.”

Next up design team member Guiseppa Gubler created this happy layout using Happy Go Lucky and The Mr. & Mrs. collections.  Here’s what Guiseppa had to say … “I really love to mix collections of paper.  I am so in love with The Mr. & Mrs. and the Happy Go Lucky collections.  I wanted to mix the black patterns of The Mr. & Mrs. and bright pinks and greens of the Happy Go Lucky collection.  Combining these collections just made the layout pop and gave me the desired effect I was trying to create … a very happy looking layout.”

Design team member Christa Paustenbaugh shows an unexpected way to mix & match the Happy Go Lucky and Mr. & Mrs. collection together on this Halloween themed layout.  Here’s what Christa had to say … “While I wouldn’t exactly match up and marry these two lines (pun intended!), when I pulled out this photo of my girls from Halloween I knew that it would be perfect!  Their costumes match the two lines perfectly and with just enough of each, it would be easy to be playful with the layout as well.  I removed the rhinestone brad from the center of the paper flower and replaced it with a Pebbles button and a solid color button.  To make the photo pop a little more I swiped the sides with orange paint and adhered it with foam adhesive.  I wasn’t sure I would like how it turned out, but it has quickly become a favorite!”

Design team member Stephanie Baxter created this heartfelt layout all about new beginnings.  Here’s what Stephanie had to say … “To me, spring is all about new life and new beginnings so I decided to follow the theme a bit more loosely and tell the story of this beautiful little munchkin (my friend’s daughter). When she was about a month old, the doctors discovered she had a hole in her heart and it was decided that she would have to undergo a massive operation, otherwise she would more than likely die. None of us were sure whether she would even make it through the surgery, let alone it be a success … such a major operation on such a tiny baby was so risky. But with much prayer, this little angel recovered from her surgery very, very quickly indeed. I do believe she was given new life and a new beginning.”

Design team member Ria Mojica created this gorgeous layout Here’s what Ria had to say … “We don’t really have a “Spring” season in the Philippines – only wet and dry.  But we do get some good days when the weather is perfect and this was one of them. I loved playing with the Ever After line. This LO shows that you don’t need a “princess” photo to use this collection as the colors are perfect for any Spring activity.  I also loved that the flower buttons come in three sizes and colors which can be stacked to create different flowers!”

It was too perfect of a line to “waste” on a card! I needed it to be a part of my small but steadily growing layout collection. I snapped this photo of my daughter as we were walking to school in the rain. I can’t wait to create the “May Flowers” half of this layout using the same line… as soon as it stops raining!”

Design team member Suzanne Sergi creates such cute mini albums and this strawberry shaped mini (how ADORABLE!) is no exception!  Here’s what Suzanne had to say … “I was  inspired by the colors in the Happy Go collection to create this sweet mini album. Once I saw the bold, and vibrant color palette, I knew this line would be perfect for documenting older snapshots of my daughter’s visit to the strawberry patch. The greens, reds, and subtle pinks reminded me of strawberries, perfect for a spring project.  One of my favorite embellishments were the dimensional stickers. Sweet birds, butterflies, and whimsical flowers are the foundation for this collection. The papers are bright and full of color! A color palette that can be found regularly in my papercrafts.  Twitterpated has been my all time favorite Pebbles collection, but now Happy Go Lucky is taking center stage! I cannot wait to see what is next!”

Design team member Lisa Kisch created this lovely springtime layout using a combination of Ever After and Happy Go Lucky.  Here’s what Lisa had to say … “It has been a long winter in Toronto – there are times it feels as though it isn’t over yet – but we are squeezing every last drop of springtime fun out of the few sunny days we’ve had. Heck, even the rainy days feel springy when you’ve been buried under piles of snow for the better part of 5 months! A few days ago I took some photos of Audrey coming home from school in her rain coat and rain boots. I took them using my phone, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well they printed. (Here’s a tip: Use a noise reducing software to clear up the grain that can appear on phone photos.) I chose a bright background, and some “Ever After” and “Happy Go Lucky” to show how we are waiting, waiting, waiting for those springtime flowers to arrive!”

Design team member Deena Wuest created this fun springtime decor piece perfect for welcoming this beautiful season.  Here’s what Deena had to say … “Nothing says “spring” like flowers and new hope! So I combined them both to create this seasonal art that can be displayed on a stand or in a frame. I positioned my letter stickers to create “stems” for the fabulous felt flowers in the Happy Go Lucky collection. Then I took a scissors to the Ever After leafy green patterned paper and created two rows of grass to ground the flowers. (Be sure to curl the blades of grass for added dimension!) After the season turns to summer (and after I snap some great springtime photos of the kids) this will become page one of a two page layout that will go into the scrapbook album. “

Design team member Kristen Swain created this adorable piece of springtime decor.  Here’s what Kristen had to say … “What is more spring then sweet soft colors and cute little birds. I decorated the outside of the frame first, then I removed the insert and added more decor to that, for a shadow box look. I hand cut my felt, but you could do that with a diecut machine or deco scissors. I love that the Pebbles Baby line coordinates so well with the Happy Go Lucky collection, I added some of the ribbon and letters to my frame. This pretty frame will be a great addition to your spring home decor! “

Design team member Melinda Spinks created a colorful springtime layout and even included a sketch for us to follow along!  Here’s what Melinda had to say … “Being in Australia means that our seasons are opposite, so when a Spring assignment comes up – I’m already outside sweeping up falling Autumn leaves. However, there was no issue with thinking Spring when I opened the new Happy Go Lucky collection and spied all the gorgeous spring colours and patterns. I instantly took a shine to the sweetest crepe paper flowers and knew they had to feature prominently on my next project and so set to task working a design around them. The photo is my daughter and her bff – best friend forever, they’ve been inseparable ever since they started school together and still remain joined at the hip and their smiles were perfect for the Happy Go Lucky Spring theme!”
