Mix & Match Monday

Happy Monday everyone!  And a Happy Valentine’s Day as well!  Time to mix things up a bit on the Pebbles blog as some of our design team members show off their creative skills while mixing and matching products from several Pebbles collections.

Design team member Kryssi Ng mixed 3 different Pebbles collections on this adorable layout.  Here’s what Kryssi had to say … “I kind of panicked for a bit when this project was assigned.  Mixing and matching is not my expertise.  But, I was able to calm down after I laid out my papers and stared at them for a good 5 minutes.  Pebbles uses a lot of bright, bold colors in all their lines, even the softer collections like New Arrival with the rich brown tones.  Mixing and matching wasn’t too bad after I figured that out!”

Design team member Sarah Webb created these fun ornaments for Valentine’s Day with a mix of papers from several Pebbles collections.  Here’s what Sarah had to say … “I wanted to come up with something different, that I could fill with candy, and decorate for Valentine’s Day for our kids.  These hollow, clear ornaments were just right for the job! A nice mix of the lines and my die cut machine, made for really quick and easy gifts.”

Design team member Ginger Williams created these adorable love themed cards using our Twitterpated 3×3 cards as her starting point.  Here’s what Ginger had to say … “I love how easy card making is with the 3×3 cards in the Twitterpated line! All I had to do is pick the sentiments out that I wanted and then fold along the perforated lines to pop them out of the 12×12 sheet. Super simple! And after mixing the 3×3 cards with a few of the coordinating embellishments and papers from this adorable line I had two cards perfect for giving away this month!”

Design team member Mimi Leinbach put a spin on this week’s theme and created a layout about her son’s love for soccer.  Here’s what Mimi had to say … “When Lynn challenged us to do a love layout I was going to do the typical romantic layout but decided to go a little more outside the normal “love” box. We all have things we love and my son Nick realized what he loved at the age of 3 … SOCCER. He plays it every day, of every season. He loves to watch soccer videos, talk about the game, and when the weather is bad … like 13+ inches of snow we have right now he is inside playing soccer on his Kinect. Last spring when we were making our summer plans he asked me if he could go to a soccer camp every week of the summer. Of course since we don’t have a money tree he had to narrow it down to 3 camps, total torture for the kid, lol! He has a love for the game that just amazes me and I have no doubt that soccer will be part of his life forever.”

Design team member Eva Pizarro combined the Twitterpated and Cats & Dogs collections on this gorgeous layout.  Here’s what Eva had to say … “”I love the color combination between the Twitterpated and the Cats & Dogs collections. The fuchsia and the green give a fun twist to a Valentine’s layout. To make the hearts in my layout I used a quilling technique. Just cut a strip of paper, bend it in half, curl each end using a quilling tool and glue the two circles together.  If you don’t have a quilling tool just cut the top of an embroidery needle.”

Design team member Melinda Spinks created this beautiful mini album all about her love for her daughter.  Here’s what Melinda had to say … “I’ve never been one for celebrating Valentine’s Day as the commercialism seems to overshadow the romanticism. So this year I decided to steer away from the romantic aspect of the day and do a project for my daughter on how much we love her. To be perfectly honest it’s one of the first mini albums I’ve attempted and won’t be the last as I really enjoyed being able to make little pages using small photos and a whole bundle of fun, pretty and girly embellishments. My daughter loves it!”

Design team member Suzanne Sergi created this lovely canvas for her love themed project.  Here’s what Suzanne had to say … “Well, I love creating home decor projects, especially for the holidays! Our theme was Love, so I decided to create a Valentine’s Collage on a large 12×12 canvas. The 3×3 cards were the inspiration for this project. They fit perfectly on a mini canvas, and I decided to adhere them to the large canvas. This gave my project the added dimension that I love! I kept the collage pretty simple, by utilizing bits, and pieces from the Twitterpated Collection. You probably have guess by now, that this is my favorite Valentine collection ever! The colors are perfect for this time of year, and fabulous for documenting the everyday too! Brads, buttons, flowers, glitter, ribbon, and a little bit of stamping rounded out my project. I added a little bit of sparkle by adding glitter to a couple of my 3×3 cards! Finished the sides of the canvas, by adding sparkle there, too!”

Design team member Deena Wuest shows us that love comes in other colors than pink and red.  Here’s what Deena had to say … “Feeling the red and pink overload this Valentine’s Day season? Try a fresh color combo like this unexpected but fun blue and orange duo for your next Valentine’s Day project. Personalize a quick message with a single felt accent and a couple of letter stickers. Filled with candy, little love notes or a miniature surprise, this little box will be sure to make someone’s day!”

Design team member Savitri Wilder created several Valentines in just minutes using our 3×3 cards.  Here’s what Savitri had to say … “Need a quick and easy way to make mini Valentine cards for your little one to give out at school? Or grandparents, siblings, parents, etc? Or even for yourself? All you have to do is grab a sheet or two or three of Pebbles Twitterpated 3×3 Cards, a few pieces of cardstock, paper trimmer, and glue and you’ll be all set! If you have a scoring tool use one but if not just fold and press with your nail like I did. It took me 10 minutes to make 16 cards. Now, I see all sorts of spicing it up potential. You can add a button to one, a brad to another, a flower, and more. Sweet, huh?!?”

Twitterpated 3×3 Cards (751000)

Design team member Lisa Kisch gives us a peek at one of our newest releases Happy Go Lucky on her love themed layout.  Here’s what Lisa had to say … “It was such a treat for me to get an early chance to work with one of our new lines, Happy Go Lucky. The colours and patterns are so cheerful and bright – they bring a little bit of springtime to a Canadian winter! For this layout I wanted to document the way my daughter says “I love you.” She says “I la you.”  It’s becoming a running joke in the family.  She’s already starting to pronounce “love” properly – so I wanted to get this layout done while she still had a little baby talk going on. Do your kids have a saying all their own that you could scrap? You’ll be glad you did!”
