Happy Monday everyone!  This week on the Pebbles blog will have you seeing double – double layouts that is!  I’ve challenged some of our design team members to create a double page layout using their favorite Pebbles supplies.

First up, I (Lynn Ghahary) created this fun, patriotic layout with lots of photos from our local Freedom Festival this past July.  Even though Pebbles does not have a 4th of July collection I was able to recreate the red, white, blue (and yellow) look that I wanted by picking and choosing papers and embellishments from several different Pebbles collections. And the dimensional star stickers from the New Arrival Boy collection provide the perfect patriotic embellishment for my layout.

Pebbles supplies used:Cats & Dogs Sassy Cat (751049)
Cats & Dogs Bow Wow (751043)
New Arrival Boy Special Deliver (751066)
New Arrival Boy Congrats (751074)
New Arrival Boy Icon Dimensional Stickers (732032)
New Arrival Boy Buttons (747005)
Tree House Epoxy Brads (744231)

May Bouquet Freshly Picked (751013)
Yellow Glitter Candy Dots (744221)
White Glitter Candy Dots (744222)
Red Ribbon (744029)

Other supplies used:
Cardstock (American Crafts)
Stickers (Doodlebug Design)
Pen (Uniball Signo)
Punches (EK Success, Martha Stewart)
Die Cut Machine (Sizzix Big Shot)
Dies (Spellbinders)

Next up, design team member Ria Mojica created this soft and sweet double page layout to document her daughter’s First Communion Day.  Here’s what Ria had to say … “The New Arrival Girl line was the perfect complement to my daughter’s 1st Holy Communion photos. My fave part of this layout is the “Host with Cross” I made using the fire hydrant stencil from the Dogs collection – I masked a portion of it so it looks more like a cross. New to using chalks? Here’s a tip: Dipping the pompom in some water before applying the chalk slightly darkens it, gives it a watercolor effect and makes the chalk adhere to the paper better.”

Pebbles supplies used:

New Arrival Girl She’s Here (751055)
New Arrival Girl Little One (751057)

Other supplies used:

Pen (American Crafts)
Ink (Clearsnap)
Mist (Tattered Angels)
Punch (Fiskars)
Die Cut Machine (Making Memories)

Design team member Sarah Webb was really up for the challenge considering this is her first double page layout.  I’d say she did a fabulous job!  Here’s what Sarah had to say … “This was my first double. I knew that I wanted to have a sky blue background and the green grass, but added the yellow and the brown (Tree House) after the page was set up. I find myself using bits of the Tree House Sunset paper over and over again. I just can’t get enough of those clouds!”

Hey everyone!  We are wrapping up the week with a few “free for all” projects from some of our design team members.  But before we do I have a winner to announce from this week’s giveaway.  Again thank you for your comments.  I read each and every one of them and loved reading about all of your “how to” ideas.  And the lucky winner is …

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information as well as your choice of Pebbles collection to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put “How To Winner” in the subject line.

Design team member Anna Sigga created this precious layout about a special gift for her daughter.  Here’s what Anna had to say … “My lil girl got a precious little ring from my parents when she was Christened and of course it was a bit too big for her tiny fingers. Last November I decided to see if it would be the perfect fit and voila – it was just perfect. So of course I had to get my camera and snap a photo of this cute ring on her tiny finger. I decided to use pinks, cream and greens to match my daughters clothes and it is just the perfect color combo for lil girls. Even though these colors can all be found in the Twitterpated line I decided to add bits from the Tree House and New Arrival Girl collections. I just love how easy the Pebbles collections are to mix.”

Design team member Suzanne Sergi always wows me with her home decor pieces and this one is no exception.  Here’s what Suzanne had to say … “One of my favorite items to create are Home Decor projects. I  purchased this photo tray, about three months ago. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I wanted to create a special decor project for this holiday. I used the Twitterpated Collection to alter this tray. This line is perhaps one of my favorite collections. I have used this paper line many times. it has the perfect mix of Valentine Colors, and I love the whimsical artwork. The colors are simply happy, and I wanted to capture this in my project! I created each panel individually, and added three individual snapshots of my children. I also added a little touch of fabric, by pulling in some felt, twill fabric, and Pebbles fabulous ribbon. I love adding special details to my projects, so I included some tiny spools, a doily, a cookie cutter, and some stamping with American Crafts Stamps. I created this project to simply remind my children how much they mean to me. (This photo tray may just find a permanent home, after “Heart” Day!)”

Sketchy Thursday

For today’s edition of “Sketchy Thursday” I asked some of our design team members to create a project based on this fabulous sketch by Becky Fleck.

Design team member Ria Mojica created this stunning layout of her son.  Here’s what Ria had to say … “I love the embossed papers from the New Arrival lines — very subtle but creates major impact. When I saw this photo of my son, I knew I had to use the New Arrival boy line as the colors were a perfect match. The green paper from the Tree House line rounds it all up to create a totally new color scheme – as if we needed more proof of the versatility of Pebbles collections and how easy they are to mix and match. I practically followed the sketch to the letter but added a journaling spot in the bottom right. For my title, I used took the word “proud” from the “Proud Parents” in the sticker sheet and I added the chipboard bird to the “it’s a boy” chipboard to conceal the words I didn’t need.”

Pebbles supplies used:
New Arrival Boy Little Angel (751069)

Design team member Ginger Williams used the sketch on this perfectly adorable layout of her two boys.  Here’s what Ginger had to say … “I loved this sketch from the first moment I saw it! I knew it would be perfect for this goofy photo of my two oldest having fun with these fake mustaches! The very versatile Cats & Dogs line had perfect colors to go with the photo, and thanks to the awesome “B” sides of the papers, I easily created a non-pets themed layout!”

For today’s post I challenged some of our design team members to “whip up” a project using Pebbles products in 30 minutes or less. Check out these fabulous projects that can be created in no time at all!

Design team member Savitri Wilder created this adorable gift for a her daughter’s friend in no time at all.  Here’s what Savitri had to say … “When my little girl is invited to a party, a birthday usually, I like to make a little something besides a handmade card and a store bought present or a bigger handmade gift. For this particular little girl I decided to make her a little name sign to hang on her bedroom door or wherever. The 4’x4″ project took me less than 30 minutes to do. The only big thing I had to do was cut the paper and carton to size and then adhere them together carefully. Pebbles Inc has all the other goodies to make this little gift fun!”

Design team member Zoe Nemburt was up for the challenge even though she considers herself a slow scrapper.  I’d say she did a fantastic job!  Here’s what Zoe had to say … “”I am a slowwww scrapper.  I can have a layout on my desk for more than 2 days.  So just to prove it can be done in 30 minutes, I was timed by hubby! LOL So I created this layout with the New Arrival Boy collection.  Lots of layers in this layout – I used lots of punches, circles and some border punches they give a great effect and fast.  Love these papers they are so versatile and don’t have to just be used for baby boys!”

Design team member Eva Pizarro altered these adorable little jars for her whip it up project.  Here’s what Eva had to say … “I’m a slow scrapbooker so this assignment was really difficult for me! I decided to use some yogurt jars I had kept and altered them to use them as thank you favors for some of my friends. To make everything faster I glued everything with my hot melt glue gun. First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week’s “Inspired By” giveaway.  Thank you all so much for your comments.  I’m so happy that many of you listed the Pebbles blog as one of your sources for inspiration!  And the lucky winner is …

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information as well as your choice of Pebbles collection to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put “Inspired By Winner” in the subject line.

Today’s “How To” post is brought to you by the very talented Christa Paustenbaugh.  Here’s what Christa had to say … “If you’re like me, you love all the handy containers that many scrapbooking supplies come in.  And many times those containers can be re-purposed for other uses instead of throwing them away.  I’m all about using stash instead of running out to buy even more items for our house!  I chose to use a chipboard container and turn it into a pencil/marker holder for my daughter who started kindergarten this year.”  And here are Christa’s step by step instructions …

I found a chipboard container/tin that I wasn’t using anymore to use as the foundation.  I also wanted to dig through my stash and find primarily scraps for this one so I could use up the old before cutting into new!

I measured, cut and covered the entire can with Tree House View paper.  After that I used a border punch with the Neighbors paper and lined the top and bottom for a border on the can.  I wanted a central focal point and some decoration in the middle so I made an accordian flower as a base.  I cut a strip and used my scallop border punch, then started folding.

After that I did some layering with a chipboard flower, a punched yellow circle and the letter “e” for my daughter’s first name.  I glued it all down and there you have a nice pencil can re-purposed from other products!

Pebbles supplies used:
Tree House View (751027)
Tree House Neighbors (751031)
Tree House Merriment (751028)
Tree House Sunset (751029)
Tree House Fun (751035)
Tree House Pebbles Chips (744114)

Other supplies used:
Chipboard Container/Tin  (Crate Paper)
Chipboard Letter (Pink Paislee)
Punches  (Marvy Uchida; Fiskars; EK Success)

And now for another Pebbles giveaway!  What is one of your favorite “how-to’s” using Pebbles products? Leave a comment below and I’ll choose one winner at random to win a current Pebbles line of their choice! Submit your comment by Thursday at midnight (EST). I’ll announce the winner Friday morning. Good luck!
