Hey everyone!  We are wrapping up the week with a few “free for all” projects from some of our design team members.

Design team member Kim Kesti created this sweet layout using one of our Twitterpated 3×3 cards as part of her design.  Here’s what Kim has to say … “”This layout came together so quick and easy for me. I love to use the 3×3 Cards for journaling blocks – they are real time savers. The Twitterpated Chips with their glittery finish were the perfect accents for this girly layout. I am especially happy to have this layout done for Ello’s album since the photos are almost a year old (I’m only a little behind – ha! ha!).”

Hey everyone! Today we are focusing on one of my favorite Pebbles products … Candy Dots!  No more poking holes in your projects.  These self-adhesive embellishments are perfect to be used in place of brads, eyelets and buttons.  Candy Dots are available in our classic finish as well as newly added glitter and pearl finishes, and they coordinate perfectly with Pebbles Chips and Ribbon.

Design team member Eva Pizarro used Candy Dots in so many clever ways.  Here’s what Eva had to say … “Candy dots are really great. I love how you can use them for some many things! On my layout I used tons of candy dots (and I didn’t even finish them all!), I used them as the center of my flower, to embellish a chipboard accent, to create the heart on my title and to add little accents to the corner of the page. They are glittered too so that gives a nice touch to your layout.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Twitterpated Smitten (751011)
Twitterpated Cute (751009)
Twitterpated Delight (751001)

Design team member Mimi Leinbach used Candy Dots to add bright pops of color to her fun layout.  Here’s what Mimi had to say … “For this layout since I was talking about the subject of art I wanted to mix it up a bit. I went with some “non-matching” colors and a bold pop of red. With the photos being so colorful it seemed to pull all the colors together. These are definitely not colors I would typically put together but it works so I went with it … after all there is no wrong way to do art. I love the row of glitter candy dots, they add that extra little pizazz.”

Pebbles supplies used:

Design team member Stephanie Baxter embellished this sweet bookmark using rows of Candy Dots.  Here’s what Stephanie had to say … “I absolutely love reading but always seem to be grabbing any old scrap of paper I can find to keep my place in a book, so I thought it was about time I made myself a pretty bookmark! I wanted to use as many different Tree House papers as I could because I just love the patterns! I cut small squares of several different papers for the background, added the chipboard owl (how cute is he?!), and adhered the ribbon to the bottom of the paper. Then I went to town with the Candy Dots! They add such a special touch to a project, don’t you think?”

How To Tuesday

For today’s “How To Tuesday” post design team member Ginger Williams demonstrates one of her favorite techniques for making paper flowers.  Here’s what Ginger had to say … “I love to make paper flowers! There are so many fun and different ways to create them and I love coming up with different types! Today I’m going to show you how to make a paper sunflower. Sunflowers aways remind me of fall and it just seemed like the perfect project now that the weather is starting to turn chilly and crisp here in Texas.”

The first step is to punch or cut some circle. I used a 1 3/4″ circle punch on my flower. Punch one from brown patterned paper and one from yellow.

Cut the brown circle into a spiral.

Fold the edges of the spiral in half.

Curl the folded edges of the spiral up to form the flower center. Glue down with hot glue to help the flower center to stay very secure.

Glue the flower center into the middle of the yellow circle.

Clip the edges of the yellow circle all around the brown flower center to form the petals.

Repeat all steps 2 more times to make 3 total flowers.   Lay out your card base.

Hand cut stems and leaves for your flowers and adhere to the front of your card.

Add a strip of paper across the bottom of the card and add Candy Dots.

Cut a sentiment for the card. I used my Cricut to cut my sentiment out of cardstock.

Add to card and enjoy!

Happy Monday everyone!  Time to mix things up a bit on the Pebbles blog as some of our design team members show off their creative skills while mixing and matching products from several Pebbles collections.

First up is design team member Laura Vegas who created this adorable card using goodies from both our Twitterpated and Tree House collections.  Here’s what Laura had to say … “While I really love the green patterned papers in the Twitterpated collection, I thought a different shade of green would be fun to use with the pink and yellow papers. The deep teal green in the Tree House collection was a perfect choice.  I love how these colors went together.”

such good care of me.”  I then decided this was the picture I was going to use for my project and the title I was going to use was “he takes care of me.”  Well, at the very moment I was putting the title on the layout, in walks my hubby Sam with a giant Diet Pepsi with fresh lime in it.  He set it down and
proceeded to tell me how he takes good care of me.  I told him to take a look at the title of the the layout I just finished.  He just laughed  and he couldn’t believe we were both thinking the same thing.”
