Meet the Team: Lady Grace Belarmino and Zoe Nemburt

Lady Grace Belarmino lives in the Philippines with her husband and their one year old daughter.  Lady Grace, or LG as her friends call her, started scrapbooking in 2008 following the birth of her daughter.  With a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and Major in Advertising Design, LG decided that scrapbooking was the perfect way to preserve her most precious family memories all while expressing her creative side.  While LG states that her style varies from one layout to the next, some of her favorite techniques include hand cutting, distressing, and lots of layering.  We are so happy to have LG join our team this year.

Here’s what LG has to say about her project … “I am a new mother and I started scrapbooking a few months after my daughter, Hannah, was born. According to my spouse, the most common thing you will find in my pages are my daughter’s photos. Since then, he encouraged me to scrap myself from time to time. This page is about some quick facts about myself. I enjoyed using the journaling stickers and used them to include information about my personality, my birth date, and some of my favorites.”

Zoe Nemburt lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her husband and their three children – Yasmin 7, Aydin 6, and Ceyda 3.  Zoe works for Canada Post by day as a casual letter carrier and scraps obsessively by night and on her days off.  Having dabbled in scrapbooking for many years Zoe took the plunge head on in 2008 and hasn’t looked back since.  She proudly calls herself a “scrapaholic” and plays with paper every chance she gets!  We are thrilled to have Zoe join our team this term.

Describe yourself in 3 words … honest, creative, sarcastic

My guilty pleasure is … chocolate & scrappy papers!

You’ll never find me without … actually this isn’t an easy one because I constantly forget things! I went out to go to work at 4am one morning and left my car keys in the house, and of course locked the door! Any idea how hard it is to wake a darling husband up at that time!?! So I guess you’ll never find me without my head!

Growing up I … was obsessed with horses.  Every weekend and through the summers I would go and clean, feed, and brush the horses.  It didn’t even matter if I got to ride or not I just loved to be around them. I still love them now!

You might be surprised to know that I … have visited the Pyramids of Giza twice!

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be … Prince Edward Island.  I am very lucky I almost do live there, we have a second house there it’s only a 2 hour drive.  My children call it our weekend house!

My least favorite chore is
… grocery shopping.  Absolutely hate it! I don’t think I have been for groceries this year! I write lists for hubby!

If I had one wish it would be
… good health to everyone.

Unfortunately Zoe’s goodies were delayed en route to her craft room so her project is not ready to post today.  We’ll be sure to highlight her “all about me” layout as soon as we can though!  🙂

Stephanie Baxter lives in Epsom, Surrey in the UK, with her mum, stepdad, brother, sister, cat and dog.  She is currently training to be a teacher for children aged 3-11 part time.  When she’s not studying you will find Stephanie scrapbooking, taking photographs, watching films and reading her favorite author Jane Austen.  Stephanie started scrapbooking in 2005 and defines her style as “fresh, clean, and colorful.”  We are thrilled to have Stephanie join us this year.

Describe yourself in 3 words … passionate, loyal, romantic

My guilty pleasure is … Glee.  I seriously can’t get enough of that show!

You’ll never find me without
… my iPhone.  I hate to say it, but it’s true.

Growing up I … wanted to be a lawyer because of the money! Now, I wouldn’t be a lawyer for all the money in the world!

You might be surprised to know that I … only have one and a half kidneys.  I had half a kidney removed when I was 2 because it was diseased and was making me very ill indeed.

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be
… NYC.  Has to be.  Whenever I’ve been there, it’s always felt like home for some weird reason.

My least favorite chore is
… ironing.  So instead, I hang up any clothes with creases in the bathroom when I’m taking a shower . . . it works a treat!

If I had one wish it would be … to not be single anymore.  It’s been 5 years now.  I’m getting kind of impatient!

Here’s what Stephanie had to say about her project … “One of my latest obsessions in scrapbooking is cutting things into little flag shapes, e.g. ribbon, patterned paper and journaling strips, so when I saw that my first Pebbles assignment was an ‘All about me’ layout, I knew that I wanted to do a page where I had a numbered list of random things about me right now printed on strips of cardstock that I could cut into flags. I’ve also been totally in love with butterflies for quite some time now, so I used my favourite punch to cut out little butterflies to stick on to my page. “

Pebbles supplies used:
Twitterpated Cute (751009)
Twitterpated Delight (751001)
Treehouse Merriment (751028)
Treehouse Chips (744112)

Other supplies used:
Cardstock (American Crafts)
Alphabets (American Crafts)
Adhesive (American Crafts)
Punches (Martha Stewart; Fiskars)

Savitri Wilder lives in the UK with her her husband and their two little girls after a recent move from the United States.  She was first introduced to scrapbooking in 1999 but didn’t really dive into the hobby until after her first daughter was born in 2004.    Her two sweet daughters are her inspiration for scrapbooking.  Savitri describes her scrapbooking style as “fun” and a definite reflection of the current age and behaviors of her two daughters.  We are so happy to have Savitri join our team this term.

Describe yourself in 3 words … multi-tasker, intellect, curious

My guilty pleasure is … ramen noodles + hot tea in the middle of the night.

You’ll never find me without … contact lens/specs. (I know, right, wish it was something better, ha!)

Growing up I … had maids.

You might be surprised to know that I … (hmmm, tough question) I can out eat a lot of guys.

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be … right here, I am living my dreams of living in Europe.  🙂

My least favorite chore is … general house cleaning.

If I had one wish it would be
… being one of those travel + food type of host, the less perky version of Rachel Ray or something like Andrew Zimmerman.  🙂

Here’s what Savitri had to say about her project … “I love colors and when I scrapbook or make cards it’s what I focus on. My main subjects are my two girls with a bit of hubby or the pups here and there. I honestly don’t have a lot of photos of me and when I saw the title of our first project I had a hard time locating a photo that I’d want to scrap, of me that is. But, I think this one is a great representation of me. When there is a “me” in a photo it’s usually small. I’ve been trying to do more for the girls but it’s slow going 🙂 Last, I love a lot of white spaces too which give my projects a clean feel. Even when I do a lot of trimming and layering my pages/cards always have that clean feel to it. This scrapbook page reflects my scrapbook style. It’s fun, with a lot of colors and white space. I don’t journal much if the photo and title communicates what I want to share but now and then I do and they’re usually just little blurbs.”

Ria Mojica has been married to her soulmate, Buddy, for 10 years and is a stay at home mom to their 3 children – Luis, Nadya and Bianca.  Ria discovered scrapbooking in 2003 and loves the creative outlet it affords her all while recording her family’s memories.  Ria describes her scrapbooking style as “simple with a kick” and tries to put the main focus on her photos in her layouts.  Ria also does cake decorating as well.  We are thrilled to welcome Ria to the team this year.

Describe yourself in 3 words … rational, loyal, vain

My guilty pleasure is … eating chocolate-covered potato chips with Diet Coke

You’ll never find me without … eyeliner.

Growing up I … spent almost every summer traveling to a different place (US, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Egypt, Italy, Israel).

You might be surprised to know that I … spoke Spanish as my first language but am not very good at it anymore.

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be
… Southern California (great mix of climate, people, accessibility, food, shopping, etc) — I was trying to think of a more exotic place but that would have to wait for when the kids are grown up and out of the house. 🙂

My least favorite chore is … any kind of cleaning or washing (dishes, bathroom, paintbrushes!)

If I had one wish it would be … other than to go to Spain; to be in the United States during CHA time so I can experience it all!

Here’s what Ria had to say about her project … “I love how this layout turned out! Just looking at it gives me a happy feeling with such bright and cheerful colors!  I got the questionnaire for this from an old issue of Simple Scrapbooks magazine — now I have proof that I really do need to keep ALL of my old magazines. I also learned that I need to be a “funnier” mom … my kids couldn’t think of anything funny that I do … although I am happy to see that they are my biggest scrapbooking fans … after all, they are my usual subjects! I feel that this LO is representative of my scrapbooking style — clean lines, bright happy colors, some doodling with my handwriting somewhere, a bit of fussy cutting, just a few embellishments.”

Lisa Kisch is from Toronto, Canada.  She is a stage actress, a married mom of two, and, of course, a scrapbooker! Lisa started scrapbooking in 2003, shortly after her wedding. Lisa describes her scrapbook style as “clean and decorative” and loves a challenge and trying new techniques.  We are so happy to have Lisa join us this term.

Describe yourself in 3 words … wife, mom, actress

My guilty pleasure is …  multiple magazine subscriptions.

You’ll never find me without … a hair elastic at the ready.

Growing up I … was always in the school musical.

You might be surprised to know that I … was in the original North American stage company of “Mamma Mia”.

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be …  Paris. *sigh*

My least favorite chore is … cleaning up after the dog.

If I had one wish it would be … that I do the best job possible raising my kids.

Here’s what Lisa had to say about her project … “”My design aesthetic is pretty clean and simple. I like to place the focus on my photos and journaling, so you won’t see a whole lot of complicated techniques from me (I love to see what other designers do with techniques, though! I stalk A LOT of blogs!). For this layout I used my embellishments to draw the eye to the important details – a flower near the photo and chipboard trees near the title. I kept the journaling in a cluster around the title, and left lots of white space around it. One of my favourite things about Pebbles papers are the little patterned strips at one end. Such a quick and easy way to add a border to your layout!”

Guiseppa Gubler has been married for almost 13 years to her amazing hubby Sam.   Together they have 2 children and an Angel.  Braden is 13, Janica is 11, and their youngest, Sterling, would have been 9 this year.  He passed away March 2005 at the age of 3.  He struggled with SCIDS otherwise known as “The Bubble Boy Disease.”  Although Guiseppa misses him every day she has been able to cherish and preserve all of the special moments and experiences she had with him through her scrapbooking.  Scrapbooking for the last 14 years, it all started with a trip to Pebbles in My Pocket in Orem, Utah – the “home” of Pebbles Inc – in which Guiseppa fell in love and has been scrapping ever since.  We are thrilled to have Guiseppa join us this term.

Describe yourself in 3 words …  easy going, fun, caring.

My guilty pleasure is …
I love having an ice cold Diet Pepsi with lime and like every woman … chocolate!  I also have a love hate relationship with my elliptical.  When I am done indulging in  Diet Pepsi and chocolate I get on my elliptical.

You’ll never find me without …
a pair of earrings.  It is weird, but that is the first thing that came to my mind.  I can be makeup less, not have my hair done, but I will have my earrings on … hmmm that is weird!

Growing up I …
moved about 15 times, but was lucky enough that those moves weren’t more than
three different states.

You might be surprised to know that I …
rock at the game of Tetris!  My hubby Sam has tried and failed to beat my score!

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be …  s
omewhere warm and tropical – maybe Hawaii, the Virgin Islands or the Bahamas.

My least favorite chore is …
dusting, I loath it.  I always pawn it off on my kids.

If I had one wish it would be …
that our family will always remain happy and healthy.

Here’s what Guiseppa had to say about her “all about me” project … “When Lynn said she wanted a layout created about ourselves, I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use.  My husband took these pictures of me and they really show the fun and crazy side of me.  I wanted that to show through this layout.  I love the title because I believe I am a lovable and likable person.”

Natalie Dever lives in Sheboygan Falls, WI with her husband and their 4 adorable children.  Natalie started scrapbooking soon after her oldest child was born when an invitation to a Creative Memories workshop led to an instant love for the hobby.  That son is now about to turn 17 and Natalie’s love with scrapbooking has only grown more and more through the years.  We are so lucky to have Natalie as part of our team this year.

Describe yourself in 3 words … loving, faithful, and a little bit crazy 🙂

My guilty pleasure is … reality TV and Law and Order reruns.

You’ll never find me without
… chapstick, and not just any chapstick, it has to be the “Chapstick” brand chapstick and the one with the blue label.

Growing up I
… hardly ever did anything crafty, when I wanted to take art in high school my mom told me it was a waste of time.

You might be surprised to know that I … have a son with recurrent ependymoma, a stubborn brain tumor that likes to keep  coming back. We underwent a radiation trial in Chicago last summer and are hopeful that it took care of things for good!

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be … Jackson Hole Wyoming – it is one of the most beautiful places ever and it’s close enough to our family that we could visit whenever we wanted to!

My least favorite chore is …the dishes because they are never finished!

If I had one wish it would be … besides the whole cure for cancer thing, I wish and hope that my children will grow up to be healthy, happy, responsible people.
