How To Tuesday

For today’s “How To Tuesday” post design team member Natalie Dever shows us how to create a super cute gift box.  Here are Natalie’s step by step instructions …

First, cut your patterned paper to 8 1/2 x 11.

Then position your paper lengthwise and score at 2, 5, 7 and 10 inches.

Next turn your paper and score at 2 inches.  Cut the score lines at 2, 5, 7 and 10 inches up to the 2 inch score mark, and cut off smallest piece (this will be the bottom of your bag).

Use a bone folder or scor-pal tool and crease all score lines.  Apply adhesive to small side flap, and adhere together.

Tuck in bottom flaps and adhere closed.

Decorate as desired.

Cute box – thank you for the clear directions! My favorite is to fussy cut some cute home made embellishments – like the little houses in treehouse.

WHAT a great tutorial, Natalie! I love love love this box–must give it a go:)

As for a tip—I am new to scrapbooking….and the thing that helps me most is drawing up sketches in a sketchbook or notebook and thinking about the pics/themes that I want to do. Then I pair up a theme with a sketch. It really has helped me with the pages that I’ve made. Thanks for the chance to win:)

My tip is to use leftover stickers or rub-ons on plain cardstock to make a patterned paper-style background.

I would use the Twitterpated Sweet flowers (cut out & layered to make my own embellies. The Cahrm paper would make cute borders for pages or an accent stripe on a card. Thanks for the tut.

Hmmm, it is not unique at all, but my favorite thing about Pebbles collections is that piece of patterned paper that has journaling spots and sentiments. I love cutting those up for layouts and then using all the sentiments on a set of cards. Quick and EASY!

oh my…I love the bright, cheery, fun Pebbles papers…I would use scallop circle punch to punch the paper and make flower embellishments. Not only look great on scrapbook, it will be totally awesome as embellishment on gift wrapping!

SuperCute Project! And because I’m known for being a hoarder of my scrap goodies….My tip for stretching my supply is to use kraft cardstock for the background of most layouts and use pretty Pebbles patterned paper as accents!
